“Easy, easy, why are you screaming?” I looked up and saw the alpha. What was his name? Erick…Edan…EVAN! That was it.

“You…your…they were…”

“Relax, speak slowly.” His firneds who I just noticed now, stood all around him and began to laugh at me.

“You’re Evan? You’re the other alpha!” I cracked out.

“No, actually my name is Justin. My last name is Evans. Not Evan. Evans with an S.” he smiled, still not releasing my arms.

I. Was. Alone…

“I’m sorry I ran into you. I just thought I saw something. It was nothing. You can release me now. I-I wont go crazy.” I half smiled at him, hoping that my casual act of lying was working.

His grip stayed firm.

“In the forest? You saw something in there?” he looked up at the forest for a minute. His eyes went lifeless for a minute before a smile appeared on his face. “Well let’s go see hwat it is then!”

He started to walk forward. He realeased my good arm and started to drag me there by the other. I dug my heals into the dirt and started to plead over and over with him, hoping I would perswuade him not to do this to me. He didn’t stop or hesitate once. His friends pushed gently at my back, making it harder to not go with Justin and easier for him to pull me. Tears started to form at my eyes and were ready to pour over. I would surely die if I went in there.

“Justin…really?” someone suddenly spoke, making him freeze. My begging continued over this but slowed with the sudden stop of Justin’s pull. Justin slowly turned around, as did I, and found a boy a little bit older than me and Justin’s age standing there. His face was serious and strong. His mouth was pulled tightly, not allowing and smile or parting of lips to occur. His hair was messy like he had woke out of bed and combed it with his eyes closed. It was long brownish black and curled out and the ends. His arms were way to big for his shirt and his chest seemed to be the same way. He stood taller than all of us, but only topped Justin and Tyler by a little.

“Anthony, what do you want? No one asked for your help.” Justin said, losing his Alpha tone slowly.

The boy looked at him and raised and eyebrow. His eyes darted to me and he nodded his head to me. Justin tensed and I felt his grip run harder. My hand was feeling a bit tingly now and he was going to snap my bone in two pretty soon.

I guess when you are wolf you get stronger to. No one ever told me that before! Mike wouldn’t have won so many arm contests then! Oh My God, he was acting the whole time and I didn’t even know it!

“Let her go, now.” He spoke slowly and patiently. His voice was calm and seemed like he just woke up from sleeping. How could he be so calm at a time like this. Oh wait, I know, it wasn’t his arm that wasn’t going to be broke in two!

Justins grip released a little and then tightened back up.

“Whose to stop me if I don’t? Can’t be you cause surely you would know your rank well enough as to attack an Alpha who wants to claim someone. Besides, my friends and Beta would not allow you to even touch me.” he spoke confidently, his tone still not back yet.

“Well, Alpha, you are no Alpha of mine. Since you are causing someone from a different pack pain, it is in my best interest to stop it. You will not mark someone not in your pack, under my watch. Plus, you should have the decency to fight your own fight and not have your little…friends to fight your battles for you. Your beta may not want you to get hurt but it is no use sending him to fight a battle he won’t win. Skip the bullshit and release her, now.”

Justin hesitated. I didn’t blame him though. Who was this guy? Was he really going to hand me off to him? Plus, I see that Justin truly is not Alpha material. Alpha were supposed to protect their pack. Not let the pack get hurt so they didn’t have to. His hand started to release me slowly before he threw me at the ground by Anthony’s feet. I stayed there, unmoving, afraid if I did that someone might hurt to me. I was already hurting enough now that my shoulder hit the pavement.

“Next time—”

“Just go before I hurt you!” Anthony yelled and they started to run off into the forest. I guess they wanted to be eaten.

I lay on the ground in shock. This one guy, stood up to all of them.  Justin was afraid of him and he wasn’t even in his pack. He did look a hell of a lot stronger then Justin though.

“Hey, are you ok?” he asked. He kneeled over and looked at me directly.

“Yea, I think so.” I sighed attempting to stand up. He threw out his hand. I paused looking at it for a second before finally taking it. he helped me up and we stood there, awkwardly.

“You’re new here I’m guessing?” he spoke up. I nodded and smiled looking around. A few peoples eyes darted to us but I wasn’t surprised. He was hot as hell and I was just some new girl who was lucky enough to talk to him.

“Thank’s for…uhh, helpping me.” I whispered.

“No problem. You don’t want to mess with him though. I sugest you stay away from him. He’s bad news.”

“Yea, i know. I didn’t mean to find him. He found me. My roommates got a little too much for me.”

“So what’s your name?”

I smiled. “I don’t think you neeed to know that yet…”

“Kally!” Someone yelled. I looked over my shoulder to find Tyler there. Anthony snorted and I immediately turned back to him.Tyler walked over next to me and him.

“Tyler.” Anthony nodded his head to Tyler. I could feel tenson rise instantly. Did Anthony not get along with Tyler too? Jeeze this kid has problems then. Maybe he was just in another pack.

“Anthony.” Tyler spoke the same way.

“Sorry, I was just passing through. I saw that Justin had a hold of her and I helpped her out. Sorry, I did not want her to get hurt.” He said looking down. Maybe he was in our pack! He could be. I mean no one told me who was and who wasn’t in our pack.

“Thank you.”

“I guess I’ll be seeing you around. I have to go so I’ll see you later, maybe.” He smiled to me. my face lit up at seeing him later and I nodded my head. he turned and walked away.

Tyler didn’t look happy when I turned to him. His face was hard like someone had pissed him off. His stance was dangerous like he would snap at any small movement. He did NOT look happy.

“Tyler?” I whispered.

“What did Justin try to do that you needed Anthonys help?”

“He tried to take me into the forest.”

“What else? Did he say anything?”

“I don’t remember. I was freaking out not thinking about every detail that came out of his stupid mouth.” I didn’t need to hear this. I knew what he was going to say. It was going to be something like ‘You’re being irresponsible. You can’t go out by syourself. You’ll turn out like Mike.’ Just the thought of him saying something close along those lines would piss me off. Dad did tell me that I would be changing on my birthday. That was only a few weeks away. Any amount of stress or high emotions could set it off early.

“Hey! You don’t walk away from me! I’m the alpha here!” he yelled grabbing my arm and swinging me around.

“Let. Go.” I growled.

“You still haven’t learned your rank. I’m your Alpha. You will show me respect and not turn your back on me!” he yelled right up in my face. I closed my eyes pushing my head back and down. His alpha part of him was coming out. I could feel it and it scared me. If he changed here, he would hurt me. His change would be out of anger and his wolf instincts would take over. I’d most likely die or be pretty close to it.

“I’m sorry, Alpha.” I whispered. A tear slid down my cheek and I could feel his eyes follow it down. His hands instantly let go of me.

“Go to the room. Tell Corey I need his help. I’ll be in the forest. GO!” he yelled. His breath was heavy and hard as he backed a few steps back. I took off running to the room. What the hell was wrong with him? Why was he panting and why did he need Corey? Was he ok?

I looked back and saw him stumbling into the forest. This made me push twice as hard. I flew across the floor, faster than I have ever run. The wolf powers are kicking in I guess. It was great to be able to run that fast. The stairs were even easier. I was stepping around four at a time. It wasn’t long before I was running down the halls. People I passed stared at me like I was crazy. Great, I’ll now be known as the crazy new girl.

Reaching the door, I pulled out the key. My hands shook and I continued to keep looking back, waiting for him to be coming up the stairs saying it was all a joke, but he never came. It stayed empty and quiet besides my breathing.

The door slammed open and everyone paused what they were doing and looked at me.

“Corey, where are you?” I yelled. he sat up in the seat he was sitting in.

“Yes? You ok?”

“Something’s wrong with him! He-He just started to breathe really heavy and…and stumbling. He told me to get you—”

“Woah woah woah, who? Slow it down, everything’s going to be ok.” He said getting up and walking over to me fast.

“Tyler, he told me to come and get you. He said he’d be in the forest and to hurry.” I gasped.

“Dylan, take her and cool her down. Get her relaxed. Find out what happened. I’ll get Tyler.” Corey yelled. He ran out of the room and Dylan was up and next to me. He wrapped his arm around my waist and led me to one of the bed rooms, my guess it was his. He led me to one of the couches and told me to sit. He looked around the room before grapping a chair and setting it in front of me.

“Kally, everythings going to be ok. Relax, alright?” I nodded and he sighed. “Can you tell me what exactly happeneda?”

“Ok, when I left the room, Justin found me downstairs. He tried to bring me into the forest but then Anthony stopped him.” I whispered. Dylan nodded at me, telling me he knew who both of them were. “Well, after Anthony left, Tyler asked what happened and why I needed Anthony’s help. I told him how Justin tried to bring me into the forest and then he asked if Justin said anything else. I didn’t really remember cause I was freaking out to begin with. So I told him I didn’t remember. I started to walk away and then he grabbed my arm and yelled at me. He said I don’t turn away from him because he’s an alpha and that I need to learn my rank.” I paused looking down. “He scared me so much and the way he yelled at me to respect him, I-I just got even more scared. I closed my eyes and looked down. He started to freak out then. I don’t know why though. He just backed away really quick after he saw I was almost crying. He started to breathe heavy and told me to go and get Corey. I didn’t mean to hurt him! I really didn’t!” I cried, letting my tears finally come out.

“Shh, Kally, it’s not your fault.” He moved forward and wrapped his arms around me in a hug. I continued to let the tears fall. It was my fault he was hurting. Why is it that every person I know ends up getting hurt or dying!

“Kally, listen to me.” he pulled back and put his hands on my cheeks. “It is not your fault he might be hurt. He probably triggered something in his wolf and that was the way the wolf was trying to get out. At school here, you are not allowed to change into your wolf form unless your in the woods. That’s why he ran there probably. Corey is good at this stuff. He’s studied it since he changed. He’ll make Tyler ok and be back with him in no time. He’s the alpha too, Kally. Give him a little credit. He’s a lot stronger than he looks.” Dylan smiled. He whiped the tears from my cheeks with his thumbs. “Just relax ok. The more worrying you do, the longer it’ll take for him to get back. He feels a little bit of what his pack feels don’t forget.”

I nodded and stood up with him and walked out the door to the living space.

“Hey, you ok?” One of the more girly girls asked. I think her name was Julia or something like that.

“Yeah, sorry. Not used to things like that.”

“Well, it happens a lot here. You’ll be used to it soon.” She smiled. Another girl ran up to us and wrapped her arms around me. Addison I believe was her name. She was the tom-boy one.

“HEY ROOMY! I have to show you the room! Our room’s are built differently and plus, I put away all your htings!” she yelled. My eyes most have bulged so much they were close to coming out. She touched my stuff? SHE TOUCHED MY STUFF! “Don’t worry, I won’t tell the guys what you had in some of those suitcases.” She grinned. Oh God, please tell me that Tyler didn’t pact what was in my side drawer of my nightstand. I didn’t need him asking questions. This was the time to find out.

“Yeah, let’s go look I guess.” I said. She ran into one of the room’s on the right and I followed behind her with Julia.

“Don’t worry, you get used to her, too.” She whispered to me.

“Heard that!”

When I saw the room, I almost fell on the floor. This place was unbelievable yet again! The beds weren’t on the ground or stacked like bunkbeds. No, they were hung from the ceiling about six feet up. They were nailed to the wall and the sides had a railing around them which hung from the ceiling on a chainlink chain. Under all of it were desks located directly underneath the beds. Along the far wall sat a couch. There was a TV mounted on the corner of the wall, which could be easily seen by the couch. A little table sat in the middle of the room with a rainbow rug underneath it. the dressers were next to each desk along the wall, facing the couch. At the foot of each bed were mounted drawers for little things.

“Wow, this place is amazing.”

“Yup, I hope you like the decorations. I hung up all your posters on the walls by your desk. Your clothes are either in the dresser or in the closet. You special things are in the drawers by the bed.” She winked at me on that one than added, “You’ll get a lot of action here. Trust me on that, she laughed.” I looked at the pictures on her wall noticing a picture of her and Tyler hugging and smiling. “Ooohh!” She smiled seeing me staring at the picture.

“What?”

“You totally like him! That would explain the whole freaking out today. Well, I told you I would tell you about him and Britney, I guess nows the perfect time.” She whispered and ran over to the couch. I followed while Julia closed the door and locked it. I raised my eyebrow at the locking part.

“So the guys don’t randomly burst into here.” she smiled. I nodded in understanding.

“So, where to start, where to start….Ok, Britney is the class bitch. She has got with everyone in this school, even Dylan…” she growled at that part. Oh yeah, she was the one who ran to him when they walked in. he must be her boyfriend. “She somehow makes her way into every guys pants. I don’t know how she does it but she does. Since I can remember her coming to the school, she’s been one of the popular girls. She’s worked her way up the ‘guy chain’ from nerds to the jocks. Tyler was the last one on her list since him and Justin pretty much run the school. By the way, Justin let her in so quickly, she did him like all night I think.” She laughed at that.

“How a girl can do it that long, I don’t know.” Julia growned, shifting in her seat.

“Anyway, she got to Tyler after breaking up with Justin. Tyler wasn’t easy though. She would come over every day and be all over him. It was pretty discusting to be honest. She would come in when the door was open and just run to him, get on top of him and start making out. I’d be in full conversation with him and it would all stop as soon as he came in. She won’t acknowldege you unless you are competition for her too, just so you know.”

“Good to know.”

“So the make outs continued for a week until one day he was in his room asleep. There was a party that night and he decided to stay up late. So he was sleeping late, almost two in the afternoon and she came in and didn’t see him. When she asked us where he was, we told her sleeping and to let him continue.  She just smiled and praced into his room and closed the door. She got her way the day and he was pissed because he didn’t realize she was doing until she had his pants off. He told Dylan he almost pushed her off until she started to kiss him again. After that day, she comes over every week and they go into the room. She’s not dating him, just screwing him. I feel bad for him though because as soon as she finds her next guy she wants, she’ll ditch him and forget his name until she needs him again.”

“Damn,” I whispered. I judged him so quick. God, I’m so stupid. I could understand it. I know half the people who I tell this would think I’m crazy but really think about it. He’s done it before and once you start, you begin to want it more and more… she was the answer.

“Can I ask you something?”

“Sure,”

“Why did you have so many condoms in that box?”

“Oh, umm, it’s kinda a long story.” I whispered. It wasn’t just long, it was embaressing.

“Kally, we have time. Plus, you can trust us with anything. We never tell secrets.”

“Uhh, ok, but promise not to make fun of me.” I hesitantly said.

“promise!” they said at the same time. Creeeeeepppppyyyy.

“Umm, you have to understand, this was like a last year. I was starting to like this guy at school and I was afraid he wouldn’t like me because I wasn’t experienced in anything and he was. He was one of those popular guys, you know?” they nodded their heads. “Well, I was telling my best friend Mike. He and I were best friend’s since we were born. We did everything together. But, I told him about it and he just smiled and started to laugh along with my other friend Vic. They had both had tons of relationships and I hadn’t. So Mike took me off to the side and told me he would…for lack of words, we could do it. We agreed that, that night, I’d go over to his house, since his paren’ts wouldn’t be home.

“When I went to his house, he met me at the door and he seemed excited. As soon as we got to his room, his parents came home. We freaked out and went to my house through his window and found mom and dad had left me a note saying they went out and wouldn’t be back till the next day because of some buisness the pack needed to attend to. So we went to my room and he pulled out all the condoms. I remember asking him why he brought so many and got really nervous. I thought he thought we would do it all night or something. He told me to relax and that he brought them in case I needed them in the future. He didn’t want his best friend getting pregant at 15.

“So, it was kinda awkward at first but we were sitting on the bed next to each other. it seemed so natural that we started to make out and we leaned back on the bed. About ten minutes later he started to take off our clothes.” I decided it would be best to end it at that. they probably didn’t care about the details anyway.

“NO, no, no, don’t stop there!” Addison urged on.

“Ugh fine… he took off our clothes and I remember laying there on the bed so nervous. My heart felt like it would just flat line at any moment. He had recently just turned wolf a few days before this and he could feel my heart beating so much. He paused making out with me and told me to relax. I kept telling him I couldn’t do it and that I changed my mind but eventually, he had me relaxed again and took out a condom.  I gotta admit that. it felt pretty damn good.”

The girls were wearing ear to ear grins and stared at me.

“That’s so cute! He did it with you and was really cute about it too!” Julia said hugging me.

“Umm, yeah…”

“So did you end up doing it with your guy?”

“No.”

“What, why not!” Addison yelled.

“We never went out. He went for one of my friends…”

“So you haven’t done it since then?” Julia asked.

I shook my head.

“Damn, we really need to get a guy on you pronto then!” Addison yelled.

“No, no, no, please, I’ll let it come when it needs to. It’s quite alright.” I said getting up and backing away from them. I didn’t need to do it again. it’ll come when it comes. I’m not going to do it with some random guy I don’t even know or like. At least with Mike I loved him as a friend.

“Fine.” Addison said, changing her expression to pouting and crossing her arms. She was acting like a little kid who didn’t get their way. She was trying to make me feel guilty about it. Not going to change my opinion either way.

Pounding sounded at the door.

“Baby, let me in!” Dylan yelled from the other side. Addison squeeled and bolted to the door, her whole attitude changing yet again. He wrapped his arms around her, picking her up and kissing her. “Baby, you know never to leave me for that long! It drives me crazy!”

“So they are going out right?” I whispered to Julia.

“Yeah, their mates. They are so cute right.”

“Mates?” I asked. What in the world was that?

“You know, mates, like two people destined to be with each other?” She looked at me, wide eyed like I was some crazy person. “You really don’t know what a mate is?”

I shook my head.

“Umm, I’ll let Corey teach you that.” she said and got up walking to the living room. I followed her out and as soon as I reached the door to my room, the front door opened. A laughing Tyler and Corey came walking in. As soon as Tylers eyes met mine, everything froze. He stopped walking and laughing and just stood there. Everyone else saw this and left the room.

“I guess this is where I leave.” Corey whispered and ran into a 5th room, shutting the door behind him. I leaned against the door frame. He was going to be the one explaining himself. I’m not going through all the emotion’s again. he shifted from foot to foot, uncomfotable with the situation. A minute passed and finally he spoke.
