It was an understatement to say the school was big. It had to be about 5 stories tall and bigger than the white house. Maybe someone could compaire it to a hotel, but it has to be a big one! It was old and made of red bricks. The windows was huge. The doors were even bigger. Maybe this place was built for giants! That’s it! it has to be!

“Hello? Anyone in there?” Tyler knocked on my head.

“WHAT!” I yelled at him before I knew what I was saying. My hands quickly reached up to my mouth covering them with wide eyes. He raised his eye brow inquiring about my outburst and grinned. “Sorry. DIdn’t mean to. I didn’t notice it was you!” I smiled.

“It’s alright. C’mon, I’ll show you to your room.” He smiled taking my hand. We started to walk down the sidewalk that led to the side of the huge building. The dorm’s must be on this side…The doors each had a key slide to it and weren’t as big as the other doors. “I’ll bring you to the office once you see the room. There are some things you should know. All the people that dorm with us, they are the wolves or will be soon. The humans are put on the other side of the school in case we shift, that way they don’t see. I don’t want you to walk around here by yourself at all.” He held the door open for me and I paused walking half way in.

“Why?”

“I’m not the only Alpha here. There is another Alpha that lives here with us. He is very powerful. Not powerfull enough to control me but he will have some control over you even if you are not in his pack.” He motioned me in. “it’s important you know, he is not a friend of ours. He will not hesitate to hurt you, if alone or provoked.” We started to walk up the stairs.

“How are the dorms? Like how are they set up?”

“There are 3 guys and 3 girls in each. There are two rooms for girls and two rooms for guys. the door’s each connect to the living space. Its kind of like a hotel and loby. The living space has thekitchen in it and the TV an couch in it. Even though there is Breakfast and Dinner served in the main hall, they give us a kitchen so we can make our own stuff.”

“This place isn’t so bad after all then I guess…” I smiled. We stopped on level five and walked down the hall.

“To the right and then are door is on the left.” He said handing me a key. I felt like a little kid. Once I had the key in hand I skipped down to the end of the hall and stopped. I turned around and pointed right and watched him nod and continue walking. I turned and froze when I saw a guy in front of me. He had short buzz cut brown hair with gray eyes as well. Alpha. My head kept shouting to me.

“And who might this little thing be?” he spoke smiling. His canine teeth showed and I saw how sharp they really were. His alpha prensece was very strong just like Tyler had told me about. So much for not staying with someone. “I asked what your name was.” His voice came out stronger and meaner like he would turn on me at any second.

“K-Kally.” I stuttered.

“You’re new here, correct?” he said.

I nodded.

“Well you don’t seem to have changed yet which means you have no mate to protect you—”

Tyler came around the corner. He saw the alpha talking to me and getting closer. He moved forward, grabbing my arm and pulling me behind him. I hissed in pain from my shoulder. He really needed to stop doing that.

“What do you want, Evans?” Tyler growled out.

“Just meeting the new girl which you so rudely interupted.”

“She is no friend of yours. I suggest you back off now before my Beta comes out.”

‘Evan’ took a step forward causeing Tyler to push back harder against me.

“She is free game, Bovie.”

“No she is not. She is mine. You ever touch her I’ll break you in half. I am her protector.” Tyler said.

“What’s going on here?” Someone came out of what I think is our room. He looked similar to Tyler. Maybe he was Tyler’s Beta?

“Nothing, I was just passing through. Watch your back, Bovie.”

“You alright T.B.?” I looked at Tyler. T.B.? Was that code for something.

“Bovie is my last name, Kally. And Yea, we’re all good. Long time no see man!” Tyler smiled going and giving the guy one of those manly hugs. I followed into the room behind him, slowly closing the door as I entered. It was insane in here. the kitchen looked like it was brand new but it was themed red and black. The cabinets were black and the walls and tiles were red. Looking to my right I saw the dinning room table. Straight ahead, where everyone was sitting was the living room area. It had a plasma TV hooked up against the wall, Couches all around and so many different counsles of games. I was by far impressed. There were two doors on each side of the living room. Those must be the bedrooms.

“Kally, come here, I’ll introduce you to the guys. I’m not sure where the girls are but you can meet them later. I’m sure they’ll find you.” He grinned and looked back at his friend as I walked over. “This is my beta Dylan. He’s been wolf for a few years now. He turned early. No one knows why yet. Next is Jakub, but we call him Jake. He’s pretty cool but hasn’t turned yet. He’s like you, still a little pup waiting to get out.” he laughed. Both Jake and I’s faces fell. That was not funny. We were both a little tempermental right now and now he’s pushing us both, but he continued on. “This is Corey. He’s the oldest of all of us. He’ll be 20 in a few months. He’s the one who will be helping you with the change. He’ll teach you everything you need to know. Lastly, this is Connor. If I don’t say so myself, he’s the rebel of group. Watch out for him, he’s a player and loves to taunt people.” I turned to Conner, who had the biggest grin I’ve ever seen.

“Umm, hi?” I smiled.

“Come sit down. Don’t be afriad of us!” Corey smiled. I made my way over by them and sat down next to Conner.

“So you’re the girl that Tyler had to go pick up?” I nodded. “What happened that he had to come?”

“She was attacked by another pack. She’s the beta’s daughter. They tried to kill her.”

“Why would you have to go though?” Jake asked confused.

“It is the respected thing to do if someone happens to pass away in your pack and your that high of ranking. Plus his father probably wanted to teach him what to do if it were to happen.” Corey said. I guess he was experienced in all of this. I only knew a little about it but he was a genious compared to me.

“Was it really that bad?”

“You want to see?” I asked. Connor nodded his head along with Dylan. Slowly I lifted my shirt to show my waist. The scars were still red along with the parts the had bled. Everything was scabbed over but still hurt when I moved the wrong way.

“Damn!” Connor yelled.

“Her shoulder is worse…” Tyler said. he stood up and walked over to me and helpped me pull my shirt to the side. It was big anyway but was still hard to move. All of the guys were surprised and stunned, even Corey.

“Yeah, didn’t feel good.”

“How did they catch you? Like what proovoked them?” Dylan was leaning forward in his seat listening extremely closely.

“We were in a forest that my parents told me not to go into but we did, Vic and Mike came with me. We were ambushed. They cricled us and Vic and Mike told me to run. I din’t want to but I did. I only got half way to the town when three of them came after. One caught my foot and the other took my waist and threw me at the ground. M-Mike came and sacrificed himself to save me. Vic found me later and brought me back to town where Alpha took me to the hospital.”

“You ran.” Corey said. I nodded. “If you would have walked or faced them walking backwards, they wouldn’t have followed. You were a play toy at the time.”

“I still don’t understand. Just because she ran, they ran after her?” Dylan asked.

“Yes, running provokes them. The wolf comes out and they feel the need to get their prey.” Corey said leaning back. I nodded. The room was quiet. I could hear the people next door and some people screaming and laughing outside in the hall. Tyler was staring at me until I saw him and he quickly turned and looked away. I couldn’t help but smile. He was pretty cute trying to be slick and not be caught. The way his eyes darted so kick made it so much better.

The door slammed open a minute later, four girls coming laughing and screaming. Some of the guys looked over, smiling and grinning. Tyler sighed and sat back against the seat. Corey just smiled and leaned back as well.

“Ty-baby!” One yelled. That was the first thing I recognized out of the girls mouthes. He had a girlfriend? He flirted with me and he has a girlfriend? The girls spread out through the room. The one that yelled to Tyler, ran over to him and wrapped her arm’s around him. He just sat there. A blonde haired girl made her way over to Dylan and he smiled when she sat on his lap. She must have been his girlfriend. The last two girls just smiled and sat down on the last spaces of couch left.

Really, Tyler? That whole thing of you flirting and saying you didn’t want to hate me and now this! You have a freaking girlfriend. Why the hell didn’t you tell me!

That was what my head was yelling at me to say, but I didn’t. I kept my mouth shut and looked away. All of the the other guys seemed used to it. Dylan was way destracted with his own girlfriend to even notice Tyler. I have to say though, Connor and Jake just seemed…I don’t know, mad or angry about the girl on Tyler. What was their problem? Were they gay or something.

“Are you the new move in?” The tomboy-ish girl yelped out. I smiled and nodded. She stood up and walked over handing out her hand. “Addison. Nice to meet you. You’re rooming with me. Umm, over there, that’s Julia in the red skirt and Maranda in the shorts.” I waved my hand over and they smiled back. Barbie’s much! “That over there, umm, that’s Britney…Long story with her and Tyler.” She leaned down to my level. “I’ll explain it later.” She whispered.

I smiled the best fake smile I could muster up and stood. “I think I’m going to get some air.”

“Alright, be careful.” She smiled.

“Did you want one of us to come?” Maranda, I think her name was, yelled to me as I walked past Corey’s seat.

“No, I’ll be fine.” I walked towards the door. Tyler’s eyes seemed to be on me the whole time never leaving. What was his problem? Maybe he was a man-whore or wanted to be a player but just didn’t know how/understand it. I shrugged and walked out, grabbing a key on the counter. Once the door closed behind me, I took a deep breath in and relaxed. I take back everything I said befroe again. I hate this school and it’s going to suck living here!

I made my way down the stairs, careful to put the square key in my back pocket. Yes, I’m old school, I don’t start the front pocket’s till the back ones are full. After reaching the ground, I managed to find a pathway that led aroiund the school. it was paved over and big enough for four probably. Looking more at the school, I noticed they had some flowers planted around the base of it. I guess trying to make hell look pretty.

The path reached the back of the school and I saw a little bit of water. Was that a lake? Really, a lake a at a boarding school? this place was just unblievable. I suppose when they have nothing else to do when it’s warm out, they turn to the lake. Whatever.

I continued on my path, staring at the lake and the sun setting behind it. There were kids playing in it down on the beach sending ripples into the horizon making it all the more beautiful. When I reached the other side of the path way after about 10 minutes of mindless walking, I looked up seeing it entered a forest.

I stopped dead in my tracks. No way in hell was I going in there. My hand slowly reached up to my stomach. No, those wolves were there. I knew they were they had to be! They wanted to kill me and would stop at nothing to do it! I took a hesitant step back, making sure not to taunt anything to come after me. When I was a few more steps back I turned around and was going to start running but ran into the arms of someone else. I screamed, thinking it was one of the people trying to kill me.
