Running Force.
Ruby wasn't at school the next day, which prompted a call to her mother. And she was right. The mother was there. She had vanished before anyone figured it out, but she was home after the concert. Ruby was hiding in his room when they got there.
"He's not going to come out. Not after last night." Sapphire growled softly as his dad attempted. "Ruby? Sapphire's here." Not a sound followed as he sighed. "I'm sure he's a little shaken. But knowing him, he'll be back tomorrow acting like nothing happened."
Sapphire frowned before soft footsteps followed. Ruby emerged from the upstairs, looking terrible. He said nothing before vanishing into the kitchen, clearly not looking for a conversation. However, Sapphire spotted burn marks. She slipped after him in a bit of a panic. She was glad she did. She quickly grabbed the knife that almost was dropped on foot after slipping from his hand. He stopped before looking at her as she placed the knife on the counter before smiling at him. His eyes were faded as he looked away, so she gingerly touched his shoulder, regaining his attention.
"Ruby... I don't want you to have to bury yourself in the pain, ok?" He eyed her before nodding softly, lowering his head slightly. He then surprised her a bit by hugging her, trembling as he resisted squeezing. She wrapped her around him before lightly squeezing, allowing him to tighten the hug without fear.
"Thank you-" She smiled as he pulled away, almost hesitantly.
