the Gryffindor common room is cozy, warm, and open. students stay up late playing games and laughing. sometimes the common room will be deserted for a quidditch match and a lone student or two will sit on the sofa by the fire with a book. in the morning there's a period of a few hours in which students wake up and shuffle into the common room in their pajamas. there's a stash of firewhiskey that only some of the older kids know about and there are almost always a few students making noise or experimenting with magic.

the Ravenclaw common room has a high roof a giant windows that allow you to see the sky. there are seats by the windows so you can gaze at the stars at night or sit and read by the moonlight. in the morning, light streams in through the windows and wakes students who fell asleep in the common room. books line the walls. behind the bookshelves are banned products that the Ravenclaws have begun making a profit from.

the Hufflepuff common room is filled with bean bags. the stone walls hold an unexpected warmth that echoes the coziness of the room. Late at night, you'll find friends lying on the ground laughing or curled up just talking. there's a weekly movie night that anyone is welcome to attend and the show is voted on by the students. The Hufflepuff have an endless supply of whatever food you didn't know you needed, and are always opening the door for anyone who needs it.

the Slytherin common room glows with green lighting. the dark walls have elaborate carvings and the chairs are throne-like. the common room is enchanting. students vote on passwords to use for a period of time, and what people think the passwords would be are likely very far from the stupidly funny truth. a silver snake is situated on the central wall of the common room and there's almost always a temporarily paused game of wizard's chess set up that no one dares to touch.
