Gryffindor: Orange. The colour of fire, danger, and warmth. Some shades can be a little intense for some people but certainly some are soft and reassuring.

Ravenclaw: Black. The colour of the secret and the unknown. It has had many meanings in different cultures that have an interesting basis in history.

Hufflepuff: Medium brown. The colour of age, practice, and sturdiness. It may not be the most brilliant or intense of hues but it is warm, reliable, and practical.

Slytherin: Deep violet. The colour of magic, royalty, and religion, denoting the most important figures in ancient times.
