Chapter 30
Third pov
Percy was sure that he had the worst case of bad luck.
He looked back at the giant rock that had landed in front of him, if he hadn't moved on time he must have been crushed to a pulp. He placed a hand on his heaving chest and took a few deep breaths before running outside. He was sick of it now, they have been out for quite a while now and Percy was more than ready to go into battle.
These small advances were tiring him out more than the actual battle that they were supposed to have been done and over with by now. He heard footsteps behind him and someone calling his name. He stopped short when they caught up with him, it was Nico.
"Where the heck do you think you are going?! Do you plan on handling them yourself?! You will be barbequed alive!" He exclaimed. Percy saw the reason behind it but he was not going to tolerate this anymore, those vile creatures were playing with them all this time, making them anxious and left to wonder when they will be attacked. Now they had to take charge and drive the enemy away or better yet, send them to Tartarus.
"Gather everyone Nico, we won't stand their play anymore." Nico could only nod and do as his cousin instructed, after all he was son of death and death of an enemy specifically brought him immense joy.
"And Percy? Take it easy don't go hard on yourself. We are all here to fight, we all do it together." This time it was Percy's turn to nod, these talks were always appreciated before wars.
Within the next 25 minutes all of Hogwarts population, including the teacher's and other staff, were present in the Great hall. Nervous energy flowed through them and the tension was visibly thick in the room.
"The first years have absolutely no experience in fighting a full fledged war like this, so they will stay inside the castle and tend to the injured." Harry said addressing the crowd in front of him. He did not show how nervous he was, while on the outside he appeared to be calm and collected in the inside he was as afraid as any other wizard in the crowd. But overcoming his fears was the first thing he had to do in order to win.
Hall buzzed with whisperers. Harry wanted them to fight their best but he wouldn't force them, they were all kids just like he was. He was fighting because he wanted to, not because anyone forced him to join the battalion. And he wanted to give them the choice to back out. He could very well fight with a small number of willing wizards rather than a large crowd of unwilling ones.
"If anyone wants to back out now you are welcomed to join the first years inside the castle. No one has to fight just because they have to. If you are willing then join us outside, we won't hold you to it if you choose to stay. It's your choice and we respect it."
No one moved from their place. For a moment everyone was quiet, contemplating in their selves if they should stay or go out there and fight for their school and possibly the wizarding world.
"We will fight with you. It's time we replaid Hogwarts for what it has given us. Protecting our home is our responsibility, who will if we don't?" A third year said from the crowd, whispers of agreement flew around.
Harry looked proud of his fellow students and looked at Annabeth. She stepped forward and explained the battle plan to the students. The enemy had already surrounded them so it was a little difficult to get through but they had eventually found a plan.
Since there were only a few demigods and quiet a number of wizards and witches, they were divided into groups with one demigod. Nico was once again no where to be found but they trusted him to not land himself into trouble since they were already on the verge of war.
Jason was not showing his concerns but he was the most anxious on the inside. He was worried about both camps just as he was about Hogwarts. He trusted his friends back home to hold any attack and he wanted to be there and help. But he knew Hogwarts needed him right now, they needed the demigods to fight off monsters they were unaware of.
And Jason wanted to get this done and over with. He was thankful for the friends he had made and the memories he had here but that was it, he did not want to stay a minute more than necessary. He was done with this vacation and wanted to go home already.
"Jason?"
"Yeah Percy." He turned around to see Percy looking out of one of the windows again. He seemed to do that a lot.
"Do you think we will need help?" He asked not looking away from the horrifying sight of enemies outside.
"Depends on what kind of help you are talking about." He joined his cousin near the window, taking in the sight of rain pouring restlessly on their enemies.
"Our parents."
"I don't think so. And even if we did, there is a very little chance that they will actually listen and come to our aid. They are just cool like that."
Percy sighed,
"How unfortunate."
*******************************
I know it's been ages since I have updated but here it is. Let me tell you I am not good with battle scenes and all the planning so it will be kinda rushed. It will end with the end of this month and I will start with the sequel "Reliving The Hero."
I look forward to your response.
