Nikky's Pov

"Come on Nikky! Miracle is awaiting us!" My boyfriend Mitch whined.

If you haven't already noticed, I am with Mitchell Stephens, my boyfriend, in his apartment. That's right, THE Mitchell Stephens. Screw off doubters. 

Anyways, he has really wanted to watch the movie Miracle. You know, the film about the US hockey team beating the Soviet's in an Olympic hockey game. What the hell am I thinking, of course you know about it. It's his favourite movie of all time. So, I promised him that I would watch it with him once we got to his apartment. And since we got here, he has been whining non-stop.

"Mitch, I am getting popcorn for the movie! You can start without me if you want to!"  I yelled at me.

"No, I need you to cuddle with me during the movie."

"Give me 2 minutes, and I am yours to cuddle"

I heard him groan, "Fine."

I jumped on the couch and said "Let the movie begin!"

"YAY" He yelled, and the movie began. I turned my body so that my head was on his shoulder and his arm was around me. That is favourite way to cuddle, he says it is very comfortable. I prefer to simply lay on him, but you know, gotta make compromises.

Once the movie started, we were pretty quiet. Mitchell was so intense, it was hilarious! He jumped at every shot and screamed at every goal! I honestly couldn't get enough of it. Imagine the laughing emoji, times two. That's how hard I was laughing.

We were about 3/4 of the way through the movie, when all of a sudden everything electronic just shut down, and thunder went through the air. I've been through a power outage before, so I was fine, but Mitch on the other hand, was a nervous wreck. I turned the flashlight on my phone towards Mitch, and he was curled in a ball.

"Mitch, are you okay?"

"I'm not Nikky, I-I'm sc-scared."

"Why are you scared? It is just a power outage."

"I've been scared of the dark because of a power outage that happened when I was a kid. And I know you are going to ask why I didn't tell you. It happened once when I was literally 6. The power went out because of a storm, like today,  and my parents forgot me in my room, not on purpose. I had a baby sister they needed to check on. And I have just been afraid ever since. I didn't tell you because I'm supposed to be the one protecting you."

"Hey Mitch, everyone has fear in them somewhere, they just need to overcome it. Do you remember when I was afraid of heights. You took me to the fair, straight to the Ferris Wheel. I was so terrified to go on, and you said to me 'I will be right beside you the whole time'. So until the power comes back on, I promise to be with you."

"Nikky, thank you for sticking with me. All of my other girlfriends' have made fun of me for it."

"No worries Mitch, I will always love you, no matter what. Unless you kill my family, then I would fucking hate you" I laughed

"I promise that I won't kill your family" He answered jokingly

"I know have a brain twister question. Why is do they call it chili if it's hot?"

Our night went on with stupid questions like that. This night made me realize that you don't need everything in life. You only need the one that loves you most.

I fell in love with you. Not for  how you look, just for who you are. (although you look pretty great too)
