Syd's POV

Today, I was gonna watch my local WHL team, the Saskatoon Blades, play against the Everett Silvertips. I have never liked American teams, so I hope we win! (no offense Americans) I heard we got a new player today, so I am excited to see him play. I heard that he played defense, but I never heard if he was offensive, defensive, or complete. Those are very important traits of a player that does defense, but I think you all know that already. Whatever kind of player he is, I just simply hope that he helps our team!

Libor's POV

I was so excited for today! It was my first game with the Saskatoon Blades. I hope that I can help this franchise out, they haven't been doing very well the past few years. (no offense Blades fans) They also picked me 2nd overall, out of all the other players they could have picked, so I needed to make a good impression. 

Skip to Game Time

I was about to skate out onto the ice, being introduced as the new player. I couldn't wait for this moment. I have always wanted to play hockey in Canada. I heard it was the best place to develop skills and make it into the NHL. My friends wanted me to play for the KHL, so I could be closer to them, but I knew that this was the best decision for me. 

Skip to skating onto the ice

 The minute I skated off, I looked into the crowd, and saw thousands of faces just staring at me. I was so happy to see all of these people cheering my team on. Once I looked, I saw this one girl. She was so perfect, with her beautiful Y/Hair /C , and huge smile. Then suddenly, I got nervous. What if I don't play well? Will she still like me? What if I make a stupid mistake? Will she laugh at me, or simply shrug it off? 

How can I get so nervous over a girl I just saw?

I went to the security guard at our bench, and asked him to bring her down to the players exit after the game. (idk if there is a players exit) He said he would. I can't wait to talk to her, she has already given my stomach butterflies. I think the boys saw my nervousness, but for a different reason.

"Don't worry Libor, it is your first game. Just play your hardest, and everything will fall into place." Our captain Zajac told me.

"Thanks Nick" I replied before he skated off.

Skip to the Third Period

The score was tied 1-1, with 15 seconds left in the game., and our whole team was trying to get a goal past the league's top goalie, Carter Hart. But we just can't. He is so damn good, it is frustrating. 

I jumped out of our bench and started skating off with the puck, on a breakaway. I did some dangles, then took a shot...

AND IT WENT IN!  After I scored, I checked the clock, and saw probably the smallest time I had ever seen.

0.1 seconds left.

I then checked to see if the girl was still there, and she was. I gave her my best smile, and she blushed and looked down. I can't wait to see her after. 

Syd's POV

My team won! It was such an exciting game, and our new player got the GWG! He is a really skilled defenseman that will definitely improve our team in the future. And just as a plus,  HE IS FREAKING ADORABLE. 

 I was getting ready to leave, when someone tapped me on the shoulder.

"Hello" I said turning around, seeing it was a staff assistant. 

"Miss, would you like to follow me?"

"Why?" I asked, wondering if I did something wrong. 

" Libor Hajek from the team would like to talk to you."

My heart stopped and I smiled, bursting with happiness. "Of course."

Skip to them meeting

 Libor's POV

I was waiting to see the girl, when I finally saw her face coming around the corner. She looked so happy, so alive with energy. Exactly what I would want in a girl.

"Hello" she smiled, finally getting to me.

"Hi" I replied confidently, wanting to look good.

"As you already know, I am Libor, what is your name?"

"My name is Syd! You played an amazing game tonight. Your goal was fantastic!"

"Thank you! You are probably wondering why I brought you here."

"That question did cross my mind."

I laughed at her sarcasm, "I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me? I saw you the minute I skated out, and I knew I needed to talk to you."

"I would love to go on a date with you, Libor Hajek."

Not many people take my breath away, but you don't even have to try.
