Jake's Pov

Today is my first ever playoff game with the Vancouver Canucks, against the Edmonton Oilers, and the love of my life isn't here.

My girlfriend Y/N is currently serving her two year deployment in Iraq, and still has a month before she comes home. We have been together for 4 years, 2 of them before the draft. The day of the draft was her last day before she had to leave. Ever since draft, I haven't seen her. Just Skype calls and emails. And god do I miss her. I just want to hold her in my arms, and finally see her after two years. The boys know that I am depressed, and will definitely try and cheer me up.

_________IN THE LOCKER ROOM_________

"Come on Jake, Y/N would want you to be happy" Prusty said (Brandon Prust)

"Yeah, she would want you to be excited for your first playoff game!" Daniel replied (Sedin)

"I'll try guys, but it is going to be hard."

"We know bud, just please try for us, we need you to have a good mindset to play a good game." Henrik stated (Sedin)

"We miss her too Jake, we know how you feel. Play for her." Prusty ended.

"Okay guys." I said, not wanting to talk anymore.

Y/N Pov

I am currently at the Rogers Arena waiting to surprise my boyfriend Jake. He thinks I am still in Iraq, but I lied so I could see him at the game. He really wanted me to be here, and now I am! I'm in his jersey he gave me for our anniversary. The announcers are about to say the singer for O'Canada, then they will announce a video of me talking to the boys via video message. It looks live, so they will still think I am in Iraq. After the video, they will announce me, and I will surprise Jake! I hope this works!

____After O'Canada____

"Ladies and gentleman, we will now be presenting a live video of Y/N Y/L/N, who is currently in Iraq serving our country, to give good luck to the Vancouver Canucks."

Jake's Pov

  "Ladies and gentleman, we will now be presenting a live video of Y/N Y/L/N, who is currently in Iraq serving our country, to give good luck to the Vancouver Canucks."  

"What" I whispered to myself. 

Then I saw it, her face on the screen. She was wearing her army outfit, and was just smiling. I just smiled back, thinking that she could see me. Tears slowly went down my cheeks, and I felt Prusty pat me on the back. The minute she started talking, I made the boys shut up.

"Hey guys, it's me Y/N!' She started off.

"I just wanted to wish you guys good luck on today's game! You guys better win or else the minute I get home I will kick your butts!"

Everyone started laughing, Y/N always made everyone smile.

"I know I am scheduled to come home next month, but if I'm lucky, I can come home earlier. Bye guys, and good luck!" 

My heart broke a little when she signed off. But I held on strong. I just sent my gaze downward, not wanting to show my tears.

"We have one more, very special announcement for you guys!"

This wasn't mentioned to us players, I wonder what it could be? I just kept my head down, not caring at all...

Y/N Pov

"Fans, that video was actually recorded, and Y/N is actually here to surprise Jake! So now, after two years in Iraq, here is Y/N Y/L/N!!"

Everyone is screaming at me, but the only thing I notice is Jake's head shooting up, and tears staining his cheeks. He yelled "Y/N?!?!", then started skating at full speed toward me, and I couldn't wait for the moment he picks me up and spins me around, like he always does.

Jake's Pov

"Fans, that video was actually recorded, and Y/N is actually here to surprise Jake! So now, after two years in Iraq, here is Y/N Y/L/N!!"

The minute I heard that, my head shot up and the world just froze. She was standing there, wearing MY jersey. She made it to my game. I was within skating distance from her. I felt tears go down my cheeks as I yelled her name, and I just bolted it towards her. Time was going too slow, because I didn't get to her fast enough for my liking. Everything other than Y/N was a blur. As soon as I was close enough, I hugged and spun her around, both of us crying. 

"I can't believe you are here, you weren't supposed to be here for another month" I cried out.

"I promised you that I would be here for your first playoff game! No matter what happened." She replied.

There was a silence, then she asked,

"Can you do me a favour?" 

"Anything in the world babygirl" I answered. Because I would. I would do anything in the world for her. Even quit hockey.

"Go score me a goal." She whispered smiling.

"Of course." I said chuckling.

I rested my forehead on hers, taking in the moment we had. She was now here with me, and I couldn't be any better.

"God, I love you." I whispered , then I kissed her with passion, tasting her lips in the first time in forever.

The whole arena was cheering for us, but I couldn't care less. My love is with me, and I couldn't be any happier.

Third Person Pov

After they saw each other, Y/N went to the family box, and Jake went on to play the game. Vancouver beat Edmonton 6-2, with Jake getting a hat trick. He couldn't of done it without his love Y/N. He was so happy to see her home, happy and safe, with him. She was ecstatic to finally come home, to be with her one and only. They were now a happy couple, and nothing could separate them.

"Fuck texting, phone calls, tweets, Facebook messages, and all that other bullshit. I want you here"
