You were rummaging through some old books that you found in a box in your attic until you heard the phone ring. You dusted off your hands and reached for the loud contraption and answered it, not looking to see who it was. "Hello?" You said

"Good evening my darling. What are you up to tonight?"

You smiled at the sound of Richards familiar voice. You had been dating him for the past year and he just returned from filming with Hannibal. "raking boxes in the attic" you giggled. Richard laughed "awe and here I was hoping I could whisk you away for a romantic evening and get you all to myself" he said, sounding sad. You awed and dusted yourself off "I suppose the clearing can wait....an evening with you sounds better anyway" you giggled.

"Brilliant! I'll be round in an hour to pick you up. Oh and darling?"

"Yes?" You asked

"Wear that blue dress I got you for your birthday. I absolutely love that dress on you" he said lovingly. You smiled "anything for you love. I'll see you in an hour" you said shyly.

"Can't wait my darling"

You both hung up and you ran around getting ready. Once your hair was tamed and your make up was done, you slipped on the peacock blue dress that Richard surprised you with for your birthday, you blushed, remembering he was unable to keep his hands off you that night. You heard the doorbell and walked to the door. You opened it with a grin, but it fell immediately.

"Thought you had given me the slip eh dear girl?"

You slammed the door shut but your intruder had caught it with his foot and pushed it open. You fell back against the couch and scrambled up. Before you stood a tall man with clean cut blonde hair and he wore jeans and a shirt with a dark coat. "Kevin get out, your violating the restraining order" you shakingly said as he advanced towards you.

"Who says I give a dam." He said, looking you up and down. He gave a lustful smirk "Hmm you look good in that dress. You never wore dresses for me babe" he said as he came closer. He backed you up in a corner and grabbed you by the arms "please just leave!" You yelled feeling tears weld up around your eyes. "Awe but I just got here. I'm taking what's rightfully mine" he growled. You began to squirm and kick "get off me! Help! Somebody Mph!"

Kevin had slammed his hand over your mouth while his other went to places you didn't want him too "now now no need for that, we are gonna have some fun, and your gonna keep quiet or I'll hurt you" he growled dangerously. You screamed in his hand, not caring about it. You just wanted him out! A sharp pain to your gut knocked the breath out of you. You slid down the wall as Kevin moved back slightly with a curled fist "I warned you! Now shut up!" He yelled

"Get your meaty paws off of my girlfriend" a new voice growled. You cried in relief when you saw your boyfriend Richard through blurred eyes. His steel blue eyes held a dangerous look to them. He was angry. VERY angry.

"Boyfriend!? You little rat! How dare you do this to me!?" Kevin screamed at you, he swiftly kicked your leg hard. You let out a help and covered your ears while you cried. "How dare she? How dare you even lay a hand on her! I'm giving you ten seconds to get your sorry self out of this house AND this bloody town before I take drastic measures!" Richard warned.

Kevin began laughing "ha! You don't scare me little boy! I can do what I like!" Kevin yelled. You heard the sound of a swift punch being sent and the cry of Kevin as he fell to the floor. Richard stood there with a fist and an angry, protective look in his eyes "get out. Now!" He growled. Kevin grunted and scrambled to get up. He took a swing at Him but he missed and fell over. The sound of a police siren reached your ears. 'The neighbours must have called the police' you thought. Two police officers ran in and looked at Kevin then to Richard "alright what's been going on here then?" One of them asked.

After some questioning Kevin was dragged out the house, leaving Richard and you alone. You let out a sob and ran into his arms. He held you tightly and repeatingly kissed your head as you let out a shaking sob "shhh sh sh sh I've got you darling, I've got you, you won't ever see his face again, not while I'm here" he soothingly said in your ear. You shook as you cried and clung to him in fear.

A little while later you calmed down and wiped your eyes "darling, who was that guy?" he asked gently. You sniffed and turned your head away "my ex. He was so sweet at first but then he became possessive. Even hurt me too. So I broke up with him, but he began to stalk me and it scared me, so a restraining order was put against him. He's the reason why I left my old home. Why I came out here" you explained quietly. Richard placed two fingers under her chin and got her to look at him "well I'm glad you came out here. Otherwise I would never have had the honour to call you mine. I'm always going to be here to protect you no matter what. I love you whole heartily my darling" he whispered as he kissed your brow. You smiled softly and laid your forehead against his shoulder "will...will you stay here with me tonight...I'm scared" you whispered. Richard nodded "anything for you. Come here" he said gently as he lifted you in his arms. He carried you to the bedroom and let you change into your nightwear. He removed his jacket, shirt and shoes and climbed into bed with you. You laid on your back as your stomach still niggled with pain. But Richards warm hand began to stroke it soothingly making you relax. He smiled and kissed you softly "go to sleep. I'm not going anywhere" he whispered. You sighed and drifted to sleep.

Richard watched your peaceful face as he stroked your bruising stomach gently. He sighed and took out a small box he had in his pocket. He opened it, revealing a silver ring with a topaz stone "not tonight I guess then. But soon" he mumbled as he put it away and fell asleep with your shivering form in his strong, protective arms....
