Imagine: Kili being there for you.

(Phoenix)

Your rode your white pony up to the mountain gates of Erebor, your father rode a black pony in front of you and five of his most trusted guards surrounding you both. It was late into the night that you all arrived to the mountain so all the torches were light casting a beautiful yet ominous glow over the well carved gates. Standing up on the stairs was a proud looking Thorin and Dis with happy smirks on their faces.

" King Thorin, thank you for welcoming us into you kingdom." Your father spoke as he dismounted his pony and walked up to Thorin. The greeted each other as one of your father's guards helped you down off your pony. You made sure you cloak was fastened onto you body and the hood was up completely covering you face. Your eyes scanned the people in front of you, they moved along the many figures. First You saw Dis and Thorin talking away too your father. Behind them, two young dwarves had their eyes trained on you. One was slightly taller with blond hair with plates and was dress in a white tunic and brown baggy trousers. A sword strapped to his waist and his hand folded behind his back with straight posture.

They other had a more childish in his feature, yet held a stern look resting on his face. He had black hair and stubble for a bread. He wore a deep royal blue tunic shirt and deep brown trousers, he too had a sword strapped to his waist with his hand folded behind his back.

" Ah, this must be your daughter!" Dis called with a smile looking at you as you walked up the steps. You never looked at any of them or made a sound as you walked past them all and into the mountain.

" I apologise for my daughter. She is not taking the arrangement very well." You father spoke with a sad face as you disappeared into the mountain.

You walk through the Gardens out the front of Erebor. You walked through a small area of trees and flowers in a soft purple dress that hugged your torso then hung loosely down to the ground from you hips. A gold belt hung loosely on your hips with a round buckle in the center. The sleeves where tight down to the elbow and then hung loosely to trail slightly on the ground. The chest went down in a 'v' shape with gold trimming which then lead to gold embroidery of swirls fading off just above her belt.

" Lady Y/n?" A voice called to you as the owner walked around the trees into your view.

" Prince Kili." You said with a stone cold voice as your eyes looked away from the dwarf and to the scenery next to you. You heard Kili sigh heavily to you and walk forward.

" You have been here for little over two days and you still have not muttered more than a few words past a greeting to anyone." Kili spoke with slight annoyance to you. "You are not the only one that has to be join with someone they do not know! I am going through the exact same thing as you!" He finished off.

" Really? So you have been dragged away from your home to never return. You have been dragged away from the person you lov..." You said stopping yourself before saying something that you will regret. Your jaw clenched as tears pricked your eyes as your thoughts go back to your home, where the dwarf that you once truly loved was. Your mind also goes back to your last night back home.

"You love someone back home?" Kili asked with something in his voice that you could not quite place.

" Loved." You whisper as the painful memory drifted through mind. "Until I was betrayed." You whisper looking to the ground as a tear fell from your eye.

" You should not keep this bottle away inside of you. I am your soon-to-be and you know you can tell me anything." Kili spoke walking up to you side and placing a gently hand onto your shoulder. You look up to his gentle looking face as tear trickled down your cheeks.

" Thank you, but the pain is still to close." You spoke quietly before turning and walking away from Kili.

---

" Brother, how are you?" Fili asked as he entered into Kili's chambers. Kili was sitting on a chair next to his desk looking at the fireplace that burned gently.

" Worried." Kili began as his eyes peeled from the fire to his elder brother. "I spoke with Y/N today, she seemed depressed."

" Being put into an arranged marriage can do that to a lady. For us males it is not so bad, but for a female to have the opportunity of love taking away from them is hard. From a young age all they dream about is finding their one true love and marrying for that reason." Fili explained as Kili sighed and sunk his head into his hands.

" I think that may only be a small part to it. I suspect there is more too her story than what she is telling." Kili spoke as Fili took a seat closer to the fireplace.

" Like what?" He asked his brother.

" She said that she had loved someone back home, who betrayed her." Kili said as they then sat in silence for a period of time.

" She has most likely built up defenses from what happened. Kili, you need to make her happy again. Show her that not all males are horrid." Fili said standing up and walking out Kili's room.

The past three days, you have been receiving different types of flowers at different parts of the day. You smiled to yourself as you lifted your sleepy body up off your bed. The gift flowers have lightened your mood greatly and you can now easily smile when you are not in the presence of another. You quickly got dressed and ready for the day ahead, you open your door and see a trail of different flower petals leading from your door and drifting somewhere. With a gently smile you race back into your room and grab your cloak just in case you wind up outside the mountain, it was the middle of winter after all.

You hold the cloak in your arms and follow the petals with you baby blue dress trailing behind you. You take the twists and turns that the petals lead. The petals lead outside of the mountain, just like you thought. You quickly wrapped your cloak around your body and tied it tightly before pulling the hood up , but not to cover your face. You walked out onto the snow cover landscape and down into the garden. You follow the continuous amounts of petals until it rounded a single bend. As you neared it you begin to see a blanket spread out on the snow covered grass with different types of food and a bottle of wine next to the plates.

" You came." A voice spoke with a smile. You turn to see the one and only Kili standing there smiling at you happily.

" You did this?" You asked with raised eyebrows.

" Indeed. Please, join me." Kili spoke motioning towards the blanket with breakfast on top. You nodded and walk over taking a seat when Kili then pulls out another blanket and drapes this over your shoulders.

" Would not want you getting a chill now." He whispered to you as he sat down and took out a blanket for himself as he sat down as well.

" What is the reasoning behind all this?" You asked curiously to Kili, while you took a bite from you breakfast. Kili shrugged his shoulders gently while finishing his mouthful.

" We are soon-to-be's. I thought it was about time that you and I get to know each other." Kili said as if it were nothing.

" Very well. What is your favourite colour?" You asked him taking another bite of your breakfast.

" Easy, blue. What's yours?" He fired the question back.

" F/C." You answer and Kili nodded. You continued to ask question back and forth until a silence fell over you once again.

" So are you ready to talk about it?" Kili asked the question you dreaded. You sighed and looked down at your lap, knowing you will have to tell him at some point. So why not get it over and done with now, so that you can move past it.

" His name was Thandul, I had known him since we were children barely about to walk. It did not take long for us to fall in love and then a few months ago he asked me to marry him and I said yes. I was so happy until when I went to tell me father about it, that is when I was informed about my betrothal to you. To say I was heartbroken was an understatement." You say as tears well up in your eyes. Kili reached over and took hold of you hand squeezing it gently to give you that boost of courage you needed.

" So I went to ask Thandul to, um, runaway with me. When I arrived at him house I was about to knock on his door when I heard him talking. I stopped to listen, I knew it was wrong but. Something compelled me to listen. It turns out that his love for me was a ploy to get to my father's wealth and title. He planned to marry me, wait a few months before assassinating my father and myself. He would then take the title and marry the woman he truly loved..." You whispered as your voice cracked. You look up to Kili's eyes with such betrayal and sadness behind them.

" My so called best friend. They planned my assassination along with my own fathers. The two people I thought I loved were plotting to end me. " You burst into tears as Kili holds you closely. He begins to whisper sweet nothings into your ear before you calmed down and he continued to hold you.

" Did you tell your father?" Kili asked as you shook you head.

" No, even though they both betrayed me. I still loved them both." You whispered to him as he sighed.

" You really should tell him." That was the last words you both uttered to each other before you fell into a comfortable silence.

---

" Lady Y/N. You have a visitor." A guard said as you stood in a hall with Kili and Fili. It's been a few days since you told Kili everything. He has managed to bring you out of your shell and you could easily talk and smile in the brother's company. Right now the three of you stood in a triangle chuckling and talking away with each other.

" Who?" You asked gently turning to face the guard. He stepped aside to reveal the one face you did not ever want to see. The smile immediately fell from your lips and your body stiffened.

" Y/N." He spoke with an innocent smile as he walked forward. But you took a step back from him shaking you head.

" What are you doing here?" You asked in a harsh yet shaky voice.

" I have come for you, Y/n. I found a loop hole for us, we can be together again and live happy lives." The man spoke as you shook your head.

" No, I want you to leave now." You hiss to him.

" Do you not want to be with me anymore? You would betray my love for this." He spat pointing towards Kili as you stepped forward, tear of anger welling in your eyes.

" Betray your love?" You asked completely covered with anger. "I am not the one who planned to marry someone and them murder their whole family!" You yelled at him, the wash of guilt appeared for only a moment before it was replaced by fake confusion.

" What are you talking about. I love you and I would never harm you!" He called out putting his hands out to his side.

" Stop lying to me Thandul! I heard you talking with Emila! I heard you plans to marry me, kill me and my father so you both could take the titles and money! Does all those years we had together mean nothing? Those moments we spent with each other." You shouted fading into a whisper as Kili stepped closer to you.

" Alright, fine. You caught me. Yes, I never loved you, in fact I hate you. I had too put up with you for so long, it was torture. Yes, I was just marrying you so I could kill you and your family so I could then get the your title and marry Emila." Thandul spoke while shrugging his shoulders to her. Upon hearing this news your knees buckled under your weight as you reach out for the closest thing, which just so happened to be Fili, who's arms instantly wrapped around you to hold you up. Meanwhile Kili ran forward and tackled Thandul to the ground and began to plant fists onto his face. He soon stops when Thandul lays there unconscious, he ordered guards to take him away to the dungeons. He immediately waltz over to you and pulled you into his arms. You did not cry or anything, you just lay there in Kili's safe arms.

" It's alright, I've got you. I've got you." Kili whispered to you as he rocked you back and forth gently. He then lifted you up and took you too your chambers where he and Fili stayed with you for the rest of the evening and night.

---

You smiled to Kili, your new husband as you both walked back down the red carpet. People congratulated you both on your wedding. You felt his warmth from his fingers that were entwined with your own.

Fair enough, this is an arranged marriage. But you could see yourself in the near future, falling for this childish dwarf. You could see yourself happy and living life completely to its fullest.
