Imagine: finding out your pregnant with Thorin's child
"Y/n by you being Thorin's wife. You must take to the throne of the mountain. I know it has not been more than a month since... Since the battle but the mountain needs a ruler." Balin said as he walked into your chambers. You and Thorin had married just before the battle took place. You both spent the night together declaring your undying love, but during the battle. Your worst fear came true.
" The battle claimed the lives of Thorin, Fili and Kili. You being Thorin new wife, mean you are the last Durin." Balin finished off as you stared at the painting of Thorin that hung above the burning fireplace. It was almost that same sizes as he was and looked exactly like him with his raven black hair and beard with his royal blue clothes on and a crown upon his head. Nori had painted this portrait after Thorin, Fili and Kili's funeral. He painted a picture of each of them and had them hung up in the grand halls. But he also had one painted for you. And here it hung, the centre price of your room.
" I miss them, I miss him. I feel so alone... I-I don't think I could take the throne, Balin." You whimper in your seat as your head sinks into your hands and cry. You had still not come to terms with their deaths and you miss the three Durin's furiously. You missed the love of you life, the way he would hold your hand tightly. The way he would kiss your forehead for you to wake. The way that he would also be as close as he could next to you. But that could no longer happen, he was far beyond your reach.
" I know, y/n. I, we all feel the same. But the dwarves need a ruler." Balin said as you sighed and look up to hin with your tear stained face.
" I understand what I have to do and I know I must go through with it. The time for grieving is over." You whisper as you look up and into the painting of Thorin's eyes.
" He is always here. He will alway be by your side." Balin said before leaving your chambers.
A few weeks later it was time for the coronation and you stood with fear rippling through your mind and body. You stand in a red velvet gown with gold laced through it. You hair was pulled back from your face and fell down your back with diamonds scattered through it. A knock at your door pulled your attention from Thorin's painting.
" y/n. It's time." Bofur spoke as you pulled in a deep breath and walked over to your chamber door and opened it to see Bofur dressed in fine cloths.
" You looking wondering. Queenly I would say." Bofur smiled playful at you knowing you need the distraction.
" You still have your pointy hat." You laugh at him as he chuckles as offers you his arm which you take. You begin to walk through the halls towards the throne hall.
" You know. Thorin would be mighty proud of you. Just like we all are." Bofur said as you take the last turn to see the rest of the dwarves that were with you on the quest.
" Thank you." You smile as they all begin to walk down in front of you before you and Bofur. Music played as you walked down the hall and stopped just at the steps to the throne were Gandalf, Lord Elrond and Thranduil stood looking at you.
" Lady y/n, do you promise to uphold the oath of Durin and ensure the survival of the mountain?" Gandalf asked.
"I do."
" Do you swear to protect the crown and it's people with all you might and give any sacrifice needed?"
"I do." You said as Gandalf stepped forward and placed the crown on your head.
" Then by the grace of Mahal. I crown you." Gandalf spoke as lord Elrond looked out.
" All hail! Amanda queen under the mountain!" He yelled out easily.
" Hail!" Dwarves yelled out from the sides of the hall. You smile as you walk up the steps and ascend to the throne. The Arkenstone stood as the center piece on the throne. You smile as you turn around and look over the hall.
" Thank you! We are all saddened by the departure of our brethren. They were the last of the direct line of Durin, by blood." You called out as silence fell over the hall. You smile softly and look down. "But it is not lost. The line of Durin will survive! For the only child of Thorin Oakenshield, grow within side me." You called happily as you place your hands onto your stomach as the halls erupted in cheer and laughter. You take a seat on you throne and laugh with tears in your eyes as you look at all of your friends below.
" I miss you Thorin. But at least you left something behind for me to hope for." You whispered softly down to your stomach.
Years past and you watched as your son grew into the spitting image of Thorin. You could see his father in him as he trained with Dwalin in the art of fighting. The mountain prospered with life when you became queen and all bonds where mended with the elves. It would not be long down before you retired the crown to your son and then not long after you were reunited with Thorin in the after life.
