5 || Soruto Uzumaki

Hitomi's POV
I sat down in front of grandfather and looked down at my lap. My hands were clenched tightly together, and grandfathers eyes burned into my skull like he was observing me. We were all back into the Hyuga household, and grandfather had wanted to talk to me after we had visited mothers and fathers grave. I did not know what to expect besides trouble and the glare of disapproval. Grandfather must be disappointed that I had the so called 'sharingan' instead of the white eyes like Aunt Hanabi.

"Hitomi." said grandfather. I looked up to see his stern wrinkled face in front of me. "Because you have unlocked the sharingan of the Uchiha clan, Hanabi will teach you the ways of the Hyuga. Despite you not having our clans kekkei genkai, the byakugan, you will learn the clans secret techniques and learn to master them."

The byakugan? Was that the name of the unique eye grandfather and Aunt Hanabi possessed?

"What about my f-fathers clan? Would I be able to learn techniques from the Uchiha?" I asked. I was the last Uchiha living, and it was my job to pass down the genes of my fathers clan. I see that it is important to learn some of my clans techniques and strategies, for I was both curious and interested. I could not live just as a Hyuga like grandfather, for the fact that I am Uchiha could not be ignored so easily.

"No one in the village knows many of the Uchiha's techniques, for you are the last living one of your clan. The only thing you could resort to is reading books about your calm, but I doubt that you will find anything. This makes it useless, unless you can find someone who could teach you." he explained blankly, "And so this is why you will focus on the Hyuga's secret techniques. Your training will start tomorrow, and I expect you to do well, especially with your sharingan."

I nodded.

"Who will teach me how to master the s-sharingan t-though?"

Grandfathers eyes brows knitted together into a thinking stance. His eyes wondered to the floor as the silence between us got longer. Will no one teach me how to use the sharingan? Or am I all on my own?

"You will ask Hatake Kakashi of the Sharingan to teach you, for he too possesses the sharingan."

Kakashi?

"I though I was the last Uchiha?" I replied with a confused face.

Grandfather nodded. "He is not Uchiha, for his old teammate had given his sharingan to him."

"H-Hai." I looked down. He gave me the look to leave, and so I stood up from the floor and began to walk out of his room. As my hand opened the door, grandfather reached out for me one more time.

"And Hitomi?" he asked quieter than usual, "Don't waste your life on revenge. Your mother and father is already in peace, for knowing that their daughter is alive and safe is enough for them to sleep peacefully."

I froze at his comment and stared at his aged face. I than finally opened the door and stepped out from his room.

"Yes, grandfather." I lied.

"Hitomi!" called a voice, "Come down! Sakura-San is here to see you!" My head perked up from the book I was reading about butterflies. Sakura was here to see...me? I set down my book by my side and I walk downstairs to see a pinkette standing in the doorway with Aunt Hanabi. She gave me a gesture to come downstairs. I did and stood by Hanabi's side.

"Hello Hitomi-chan!" Sakura chirped as she bent down to my level. Her big emerald eyes stared into mine as she smiled widely. "Would you like to come over to my house to play with my son? I'm sure he would be glad to make a new friend. And don't worry, your aunt is okay with you coming over. What do ya say?"

I stayed silent for a bit as my hands started playing with each other. I looked up at Aunt Hanabi and saw her nod at me.

"O-Okay..." I stuttered. Sakura smiled as she stood back up again. Aunt Hanabi told me to get dressed, for I was going to 'play' with Sakura's son. As I got dressed, I wondered what the word 'played' meant.

I went downstairs again and said my goodbyes to Aunt Hanabi and grandfather. Hanabi hugged me as grandfather patted my head like he had did when we all visited mothers grave. Than I went with Sakura to her house.

Sakura's house was big and neat, with cream colored walls and clear glassy windows. Near the doorway, colorful flowers stood neatly in a row along with some plants and rocks. It was pretty, seeing all of the colorful flowers.

"Ready, Hitomi?" Sakura asked. I looked up at her and nodded. She opened the door to reveal a jumble of yellow and pink clash onto her body.

I stood surprised as a boy and girl hugged Sakura tightly. They both had strange whiskers like Naruto. The girl seemed younger. The boy had bright yellow hair and blue eyes that looked like Naruto's. The girl however had the same pink hair as Sakura, with the same sky blue eyes. Were these her children?

"Momma! Sour sauce took my ted away!" the younger one whined. Sakura sighed as she picked up the child. She looked down at the boy with a disappointed but happy face.

"My name is not 'our sauce! It's Soruto, dattabayo!" protested the boy. Sakura smiled as she led us three into her home. Her home was nice, with the smell of linen in the air.

Sakura calmed her kids down and set the two down on the couch. I sat down in front of them, staying next to Sakura. I didn't trust the two kids...they seemed childish and trouble making surprises.

"Okay you two, ya better behave because I'm going to introduce you to mommy's friends kid." she pointed at me. "Soruto and Minako, this is Hitomi. Hitomi, meet my kids Soruto and Minako."

I bowed down my head a bit as Soruto waved his hand. Minako smiled widely and waddled off of the couch with her chubby little legs. I watched with big eyes as she walked over to climb up the couch and sit down next to me.

"I'ma call you big sister Hitomi!" she piped in a sweet voice. She closed her eyes and began hugging my arm. "I've always wanted a big sis that smells like soap!"

I tensed up and froze as she snuggled her cheek against my arm. The warmth of her body was a new feeling, and I didn't want to disturb her happiness. Sakura laughed beside me as Soruto frowned in jealousy. What was he jealous of? Did he want to hug me too? Children are so strange....

"Haha!" laughed Sakura. "Why don't you and Soruto play outside. It's time for Minako to change her drawers." Minako blushed as her face turned bright red. Soruto's face brightened as he stood up and held my hand.

"Yeah dattabayo! Let's go Hitomi-chan!" Soruto smiled. Minako grasped onto my arm for dear life as I was the rope of tug a war between the two siblings. I stood emotionless as Sakura peeled the little girl off of me.

"But I wanna play with big sister! It's not fair!!" sobbed Minako. I felt pity grow in my heart as Sakura patted her back and carried the thrashing Uzumaki into a hallway.

Soruto than suddenly pulled me off of the couch into the outdoors. His hand was warm against mine as he laughed.

"Let me show you our flowers! There are ones that are really super pretty, kind of like ya, dattabayo!" I blushed as he pulled me to a row of blooming flowers. He let go of my hand as he pointed out multiple purple and pink flowers. His bright blue eyes looked into mine as he eagerly waited for me to talk to him.

"These are...really pretty, y-yeah." I stuttered. I bent down and stared at the flowers as Soruto sat down next to me. His whiskered face leaned into mine as I jumped back of how close he was. "Soruto what-"

"Why are pale? Haven't ya seen the sun once in you life? You look like a uncooked dumpling." I froze as Soruto tilted his head in confusion.

"Well, u-um, I really have never see the sun in my life...but I want to see it." I replied sitting down. I looked up at the sky as Soruto's eyes widened.

"Really? Than we have to see the sun together, dattabayo! It's really big and shiny, like a big ball of wood on fire!" Soruto spread out his hands to give a example to me. I nodded as his eyes stared off into the gray sky. "We have a lot of sun here, so I promise we'll see the sun, yeah!"

My eyes widened as his smile sparkled.

His smile was bright and cheery, like he had never seen a bad thing ever in his whole store life. A smile filled with innocence, happiness, joy. Soruto was so happy...while I'm just empty and sad. What did he learn to grow to be so happy? Was it because he had been lived ever since he was born?

I looked down and stared at the green grass. I decided I wouldn't be a drag to his happiness, that I wouldn't ruin anything for him. He was lucky to have a good life, and I wasn't here to set flames to it.

Soruto looked at me with shiny eyes as his teeth shone.

"Y-Yeah..." I whispered, "Yeah...we will see the sun together..."
