HIT ON ME ! by KissLeclerc
February 14, 2024 # "When The Time Is Right."
WITH EACH GRACEFUL STEP, Thalia's presence seemed to electrify the atmosphere of the runway. Her confidence was palpable, accentuated by the way her heels clicked against the polished floor. Every eye in the room was drawn to her as she moved with an effortless elegance that seemed almost otherworldly.
Reaching the end of the catwalk, her final stride was a like an exclamation mark, leaving the guests of fashion week spellbound by her stunning strut, wearing a beautifully put together spring ensemble from the upcoming launch of the brand she loves dearly.
With Chanel closing out fashion week with their showcase, Thalia felt relieved that she's gotten one of the big four weeks finally over with.
She's always been grateful for having such opportunities to walk these runways, but she's grown to get tired of them as time progressed.
"Beautiful show, I am nothing but speechless." Calvin greeted backstage, giving her a friendly kiss on the cheek. "It's what I do best." She smiled, bringing him into a brief hug.
"Oh someone's happy." He hesitantly hugged back as she let go with a scoff. "Excited to see someone later?" He teased.
"This is why I can never give you my affection."
"You do show me your affection, and it's when you say you hate me." Calvin placed a hand on her shoulder as she laughed.
"Come on, I need to get all of this off." Thalia changed the subject, referring to the clothes that sat on her body.
Turning on her heel, Calvin followed after as she made way towards her green room to get unready, and consider if she even wants to go to the after parties.
Changing into a simple black outfit and with the help of Calvin redoing her makeup, Thalia finished with her wardrobe change before plopping onto the couch that sat in the room.
"So are we hitting up any parties?" Calvin asked as he scrolled on his phone. "You don't have to, but I'm in the mood for some dancing and drinking."
"Yeah, uh Lando and I will pass." She declined, letting out an exhale. "We're gonna cook dinner together at yours."
"Uh-"
"I will clean up after myself." Thalia cut him off as he looked her up and down before shrugging.
"Lando doesn't want to party?" Calvin questioned. "Since when was that ever a scenario."
"He just wants to spend time with me." Thalia bit down a grin before Calvin glanced at her awkwardly.
"Not in that way, idiot." She quickly shot back.
"Just don't do it on my bed-"
"CALVIN DAYSHAWN." She covered her ears, yelling his first and middle name as he laughed in her face.
"I'm just messing with you!" Calvin snickered. "But fine, I'll give you guys space. I'll go out and party I suppose." He sighed.
"Perfect."
After a couple more moments of lounging, the evening proceeded and the pair of best friends eventually found their way out of the venue. Moments ago, Lando had called Thalia to let her know he was gathering some things in the city, but would soon make his way to Calvin's condo.
Splitting ways with her dear friend, the model had finally made it back to the familiar Manhattan home, quickly tidying up for the sake of her friend, but also to avoid cleaning later on in the night.
As Thalia prepared some ingredients in the kitchen so she can teach Lando how to make egg rolls, she washed her hands when she heard a knock at the door.
Smiling to herself, she patted her hands dry before hurrying over to the front door, but abruptly checking her appearance in the body mirror that Calvin had hung nearby the entrance.
Straightening down the loose dark denim jeans she had on, Thalia adjusted the black backless top that sat snug on her figure before running a hand through her hair. Satisfied with her appearance she took a deep breath before opening the door.
"Hi." Lando was quick to greet with a smile as Thalia scoffed at him, looking at him as he stood with a bouquet in one hand and a bottle of champagne in the other.
"Always rolling your eyes, aren't you?" He sighed as she grinned, moving out of the way for him to come in. "Always."
"And for you." He happily handed her the bouquet of dahlias, a tug at her lips immediately forming.
"You shouldn't have." Thalia said sarcastically.
"You're right." Lando frowned as she was quick to smack the bouquet at his chest in response.
"Thank you though." Thalia looked at Lando before he swiftly brought her closer with one motion from her lower back. "Well, of course!" He smirked before pulling her in for a kiss.
"Oh you just couldn't help yourself, hm?" Thalia grinned as he pulled away, keeping eye contact with her. "Not at all." His grip around her waist tightened before pulling her back in.
Her laughter echoed in the air as he held her close, brushing his lips on her neck before he figured he should stop, and pulled away. "Sorry." Lando breathed out through a whispered smile as she shook it off. "Don't be." She laughed and gave him a quick peck of reassurance.
As their eyes locked in a dance of affection and playfulness. The world seemed to fade away around them, leaving only the warmth of each other's embrace. Once she pulled away, Thalia quickly set the bouquet down on Calvin's coffee table, before extending her hand to Lando's as he quickly took it, heading towards the kitchen.
"Are we making egg rolls?" He pieced it together as he stared at the ingredients on the counter. "Well, yes!" Thalia smiled, handing him an apron and tying her hair up. "My mom's recipe." She said happily as Lando watched her.
As they began chopping vegetables, their chemistry flowed effortlessly, weaving through shared laughter and stolen kisses. Time seemed to slip away, unnoticed, as they lost themselves in each other's company, the kitchen filled with playful arguments as they bantered about the best way to fold an egg roll, but of course, Thalia was right.
Amidst the clatter of pans and the sizzle of ingredients, the couple found themselves immersed in a timeless dance of romance and company, each moment a testament to their deepening their relationship.
"You ready?" She asked him as he held an egg roll in her hand, the end result of their chaotic cooking experience. "Excited." He smiled, looking at her with adoration. "It smells heavenly."
Thalia's face lit up with a delighted grin as she dipped the golden-fried egg roll into a small bowl of tangy sauce. With a playful sparkle in her eye, she extended the snack towards Lando.
His eyes widened in anticipation as he leaned forward to take a bite, and a look of pure satisfaction washed over his face as he savored the explosion of flavors, prompting a small giggle from Thalia.
Before she could even react, he grabbed the remaining portion of the egg roll from her grasp in excitement, eagerly devouring it in one swift motion, leaving behind only the echo of his satisfied chewing.
"I assume it's good?" Thalia laughed as she took a bite of her own egg roll. "Best I've ever had." Lando couldn't even finish swallowing.
The couple savored the flavors of their homemade egg rolls as they made their way to the living room, settling their cozy little date there for the rest of the night.
Lando's arm casually draped over the soft cushion of the couch as Thalia nestled closer to his side, happily feeding him the final bits of the golden snack they had prepared together. Their relaxed chatter seamlessly flowed into deeper conversations as they enjoyed each other's company.
"So the season is starting up again soon." Lando mentioned as Thalia looked at him with a thin line tugging down her lips. "Yeah..." She mumbled. "I actually can't attend your first couple races..." She said with disappointment as he quirked a brow.
"How come?" He asked with a subtle frown as she sat up straight. "I've got more fashion weeks and runways to attend to in the upcoming weeks. But I think the first one of the year I can attend is the one in Japan!" Thalia explained as he took her hand in his.
"That's so far away, I won't get to see you for so long?" He playfully complained as she let out a laugh. "It'll be okay." She let go of his hand and pat his chest.
"You can handle it."
"Can I though?" Lando quirked a brow as she rolled her eyes. "If I can, so can you." Thalia retorted, as he mockingly snored in response, prompting her to drift into a momentary and sudden thought.
"But." Thalia cleared her throat. "What exactly are we?" She asked mindlessly as he turned to look at her.
"Well you said we were just friends on Jimmy Fallon..." He said sassily as she scoffed in annoyance. "Well it's because I don't know what we are."
"In my head, it's only you." Lando smiled wide. "So I'd say we're exclusive..." He paused. "Unless you're seeing other people."
"I'm not!" Thalia laughed. "It's only you." She adjusted her seated position, draping her legs over his lap.
"I feel honored." Lando smirked as he took her hand into his and placed a kiss on her knuckles. "Still need to ask you to be my girlfriend though." He quirked a brow as she looked away nervously.
"And, are you going to orrr..." Thalia fought her urge to smile as he looked to the side. "Uhh... Not just yet." He replied as she raised a brow.
"Oh?" Her smile slightly died down.
"If I ask you, then that means I'd be ready to be public with you, but as of right now, I am sort of ... not..." He explained as she felt a tug at her heart strings. Ouch?
"Can't we be official without being public..?" Thalia asked with a confused chuckle. "Which by the way... I actually don't mind if we did go public?" She said with a soft tone.
"I kind of want to..."
"Oh." Lando replied, pausing for a brief moment. "Is it bad that I mind?" He asked.
"Well I'm confused as to why it would mind you." She laughed awkwardly, slightly backing away from him. "I actually would've thought you'd like that idea."
Lando's expression softened, his eyes searching hers for understanding. "I guess... I just need a little more time?" He confessed, his voice gentle yet hesitant. "It's still a little new."
"It's not that I don't want to be with you, Thalia. I really do. But I'm not quite ready to make it official in front of everyone yet." He explained a he kissed her knuckles again. "And right now, I don't mind if it's just me and you and our close friends that know." Lando paused.
"I realized that I'd prefer to take it a little slower. Despite how badly I would love to publicly express my affection around you... I don't think right now is the best timing for the both of us."
Thalia nodded slowly, her features reflecting a blend of sadness and understanding. "Okay." She said softly, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "I can respect that. We can take it at whatever pace feels right for both of us." She said with slight agreement, but lots of disappointment.
Lando's shoulders visibly relaxed as he returned her smile, relief evident in his eyes. "Thank you for understanding," He murmured, bringing her in for a quick kiss on the forehead.
"I promise, when the time is right, I'll ask you to be my girlfriend. And I'll mean it with all my heart."
With those words, Thalia still felt disappointed. She didn't realize how badly she wanted to be Lando's girl. Maybe she was already, but she wanted the whole world to know.
It was the factor of realization that she didn't care if people knew about her and Lando. Thalia was aware that before, it was her mission to keep everything hidden, but now she couldn't deny that it was a little upsetting for her,
Because now the rolls felt switched.
Lando seemed to be ready the entire time while she wasn't, but now that she's ready... he isn't?
