It was 7:38am on April 3rd when Harper Island, a seventeen year old girl got hit by a car in the small town of Greywater. The police say it was an accident, but I don't believe them. Now you may be wondering, who am I? Well that my friend you will learn soon enough for this story is not about me, but the murder mystery of Harper Island. So let me start from the beginning.
"Bianca Rose! Get down here this minute, I need to talk to you," my mom, Shannon Rose, a journalist for the Greywater Times Newspaper yells from downstairs. I quickly finish putting on my mascara before shoving my books into my bag for school. I give my room one last glance to make sure I have everything before running downstairs to greet my mother.
     As I get to the bottom of the stairs I walk into the kitchen to see my mom sitting at the dining room table. She's usually in the kitchen, so something must be up.
"What's up?" I ask nervously approaching her. I have no idea what she's going to tell me, but it can't be good.
"B, please sit down," she says giving me a sad smile. I slowly sit down taking my time because I don't know if I even want to know what she has to tell me.
"Okay..." I say slowly not knowing where this is going.
"B, something bad happened last night...A girl was hit by a car leaving the cafe. They don't know who did it, but the police are saying it was a hit and run accident," my mom says gently.
"Why are you telling me this?" I ask. Who ever it was, it probably wasn't anyone I knew. I only have like three friends, so if it was someone else I don't really care. Now I know that probably sounds selfish, but it's true. How am I suppose to feel sorry for someone if I didn't know them? The correct answer is you don't. Well in my book anyways. Anyways something like this doesn't happen much in a small town like Greywater, so what do you expect from me?
"It was...Harper," my mom says slowly making sure I understand. Wait...Harper? Like Harper my best friend? Like Harper who was at my house two days ago? Like Harper who I just talked to at school?
