Personality : Ruby is a kind and relatively soft-spoken. She is easily pressured into thing but she can be extremely overprotective of people she cares about. Ruby was described as clumsy and is pretty much tripping and stumbling everywhere she goes.
Backstory : Ruby was born on December 4th 1785 to a farmer couple, Elizabeth and John Jackson. Her mother ended up dying in childbirth leaving only her father to take car of her. When she was 5 she went out on a trip with her father and it was there she met Anna Reynolds. The 5 year old was starstruck with the 4 year old Anna and the two formed a close bond, through letters and in person.
In 1795 her father died and she ran away right after his funeral. While in Virginia she was found by James Madison and his wife. They chose to take her in. She was a very intelligent child who showed great interests in feminism and women's rights. She also become good friends with the Valleyway twins, Alexandra and Joan-Lauren. Her love for Anna remained strong though and she made it her first priority to visit her after the Reynolds pamphlet was released. Charlotte Marytown is the one who took her there. It was there, when she was 12, she kissed her 11-year-old best friend. From there a romance blossomed until Anna died on October 3rd 1801 at the tender age of 15 dying of influenza. Ruby told herself she would never love again.
That backfired though and in 1807 she married Peter Valleyway. In 1810, they welcomed their first child, Dolley. The couple would go on to have 5 more children. Jackson- 1812, Anna- 1814, Joan-Lauren- 1816 and Charlotte & James- 1818. Although just a day before the twins were born, Dolley died of pneumonia. Ruby died on August 10th 1818, 3 days after her twins were born, dying of childbed fever, at the age of 32.
