Backstory : Lavanda was born the seventh of eight children in Miami, Florida on July 15th, 1955. She grew up spending her childhood summers in Verona, Italy, where her mother was from. Though called Donna in her early years, her grandparents began calling her by her (first)middle name and it stuck even outside of Italy. Her grandfather passed away when she was eleven.

In middle school, she met a certain Jack Hunter. Jack and Lavanda became close friends and began dating when the two were fifteen. When they were seventeen, they started a garage band with some other classmates; Barry "Bars" Gregory, Maxine Lawson, and Callum Carters. Lavanda was the lead singer, Jack was the lead gataurist, Bars was the lead drummer, Maxine was the lead keyboardist and Callum was the lead bassist. They originally called it Nuclear Wasteland, but Bars said "hey that's a little uncreative" so after a month or so, Nuclear Wasteland became Sunshine Wasteland.

Eventually, the band moved themselves to Los Angeles where they began making it big, and where Jack and Lavanda got married one month after Lavanda's eighteenth birthday. It was also around this that Lavanda began going by Lavanda Mariana. She stated in an interview that; "I wanted something people would say 'what?' about. Lavanda in of itself is grabby, but Lavanda Mariana together and on all the records and stuff is just perfect."

It was shortly after Jack and Lavanda's marriage that the band began to hit it big, having just released their second album Brats Go Down Fighting, their song Childhood Bedroom being the most popular.

Between 1973 and 1981 the group released five albums. Sunshine Wasteland, Brats Go Down Fighting, Juliet's Balcony, Burning Bible and Collateral Damage. Today, the song they are best remembered for is Suicide Note, from Juliet's Balcony.

Sometime during 1979, Jack and Lavanda began drifting apart a bit. They still considered themselves to be good friends, but the lovey dovey marriage part- it didn't seem to be for them any more. But Lavanda was pregnant, so, fuck. But they decided to see other people, Jack just sleeping around with guys, girls, maybe some non-binary pals, and Lavanda became girlfs with the keyboardist, Maxine Lawson. On January 31st, 1980, they had triplets; Sky, Earth, and Ocean. Two months later, they officially divorced and that was that.

So, for the next two years, things were all fine and dandy. Sure, they all dabbled in drugs and such, but they were a band in 70s/early 80s. If you weren't high off your ass 24/7 were you even really a band? On October 28th, 1982, Lavanda, age twenty-seven, was found dead after a heroin overdose.
