❝︎ EVERYONE DESERVES A CHILDHOOD . ❞︎

⊱ ────── ஓ๑ ▣︎ ๑ஓ ────── ⊰

Falco didn't like changes, especially when it's very sudden. It takes him time to adapt to new situations. Everything he had learned to do was because of drills and books but getting transported was in no book. What was he supposed to do?

Nothing could prepare Flaco for what had happened to him. Being transported into another world was completely unthought of. No drills could cover for his confusion, and no books could tell him the slightest idea of what to do.

Panicked and scared, Falco tipped everywhere he went. He was always by someone's side, whether it would be Gabi's, Porco's, or Zeke's, he just wanted to be with someone familiar. Someone that he knew so that everything will at least feel okay.

But the longer the people Falco clung onto, the further they seem to be. Fights broke out every so often, he had to share a house with the enemy, and Gabi, who he wanted to be with most of the time, was always causing mischief that he didn't want to get into. He was scared.

Falco would stay inside of his room, or in the library, since barely anyone used it, and would curl up into a ball in the corner of the room. He doesn't mean to, but he cried most of the time he was alone.

Falco knew he wasn't supposed to cry. He was a warrior in training, they aren't allowed to cry, they shouldn't cry, otherwise they were called and seen as weak. But Falco can't help himself, besides, he learned how to cry silently anyways.

"Hm? Falco?"

Or at least Falco thought he did.

Falco looked up from his knees, alarmed that someone had found him. His eyes widened even more when he noticed that it was the (h/c) haired person that had found him. He didn't even notice the concern gaze of Y/n since he was too much in a panic to think properly.

"Hey, kid," Y/n whispered in a surprisingly soft tone that Falco was almost foreign to, "What's the matter? Why are you crying?"

"H-Huh?" Falco stuttered as he touched his face, he than panicked and started to wipe his tear away harshly, "I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to c-cry! I did-didn't mean to!"

Y/n furrowed his brows in concern as he softly pulled Falco's hands away from his face. His eyes and face were already turning red from the harshness Falco had put them through. Falco was shocked by the sudden action as he looked up at Y/n with the most perplexed look Y/n had ever seen on a child that was shown decent kindness.

"Hey, hey, you don't need to do that," Y/n said in a soft tone as he sat next to Falco, "Look, you don't need to tell me anything, you don't even need to acknowledge that I am here, but I want you to know that crying is alright. You can cry, Falco, I'll make sure not to tell a soul."

Flaco could feel the tears bubble up in his eyes, but he sniffed in order to keep it down, "B-But crying is bad, I was never allowed to cry, I can't cry. If I cry, then I'll get punished. Will I get punished, Mr. Y/n?" He asked, innocently.

Y/n's eyes softened at Falco's words, he reached his hand up and patted Falco's head caringly, "No one should get punished for crying." He sighed, "Jeez, they really are training children to be warriors, huh? How fucked up is your world?"

Falco rested his head on Y/n's chest, "Pretty bad..."

"I can tell," Y/n said as he gave Falco a side hug, "But you don't need to worry about that anymore. You are here, in my world now, and I will do everything in my power to keep you and everyone else safe.

"I will not ask for anything in return. I will not force you to do anything you dislike. All I ask is for you to have a childhood once again. Falco, you are still young, and I want you to still experience the life of how a child should be, so I will provide that for you and your friend.

"Falco you are safe here. You can cry if you want to, you can laugh if you want to, you can rage out in anger if you want to, you don't need to keep your emotions to yourself anymore. You can cry, Falco."

That hit it with Falco. The tears in his eyes overflowed as he started to hiccup and sniff uncontrollably. He hugged Y/n tightly as he cried into Y/n's chest. He cried, more times than he thought he would. The warmth from Y/n comforted him in every way possible.

Y/n said comforting words, tell Falco that he is safe now and that he didn't have to constantly look for a place to call home anymore. He hugged Falco close to him, like how a father would with their child. He rubbed Falco's back as he let the child cry into his chest.

In some ways, Falco reminded Y/n of himself. He was taught to not cry in public, he had taught himself how to cry in silence, he was never allowed to show his true emotions wherever he was, they were just so similar to each other.

Y/n noticed the similarance rather quickly. Although Falco might think that he was alone during his mental breakdowns, Y/n was right around the corner complicating on whether or not to comfort Falco. Today was the first day Y/n actually had courage to comfort the young child.

The only difference between Falco and Y/n is that Y/n had no one to lean against for comfort. He did everything by himself, the breakdowns, the comforting, and everything else was in between, and it was clear that it just made Y/n worse.

So, Y/n made it a clear decision that he will help Flaco through all of his tough times, no matter how hard the situation is. Y/n didn't have anyone to lean against, and since Falco is in a similar position as him, he will help Falco.

Y/n looked down at Falco after hearing the crying die down. He noticed that Falco had fallen asleep in his arms. Y/n wonders how that feels, being held by a person that you care about. He sighed as he stood up.

'You're allowed to cry whenever you like, Falco,' Y/n thought to himself as he carried Falco to his room, 'I'll be with you. I'll be here, with you, to help. I promise...'
