Y/n let out a soft huff as he held onto two baskets full of laundry that he needed to do. He didn't mind the characters living in his house but they were filthy so doing laundry was Y/n's top priority right now.
Y/n opened the laundry room and turned on the light. As he was loading the laundry in the washer, he could hear a few patters of feet coming up to the room he was in. There was a soft knock on the door making Y/n look up.
"Oh, Armin, Annie, is there something you need?" Y/n asks with a raised brow.
"W-well we were wondering if we can do something here," Armin stuttered.
Y/n let out a hum, "Well what exactly do you want to do?"
"I was wondering if you have anywhere I can practice fighting," Annie spoke up in a nonchalant voice.
"And I was wondering if you have any books here. You know, about your world and maybe the ocean?" Armin said nervously.
Y/n closed the washer with a loud bang, making Armin flinch and Annie tense slightly. Y/n seems to have noticed this and made a mental note on loud sounds while around the characters.
"I have a training room downstairs and I have a library too, would that be an interest to you guy?" Y/n asks as he dusted his hands and turned to the two blondes.
The two characters perked up at this. Armin's eyes immediately shined at the word 'library' as Annie had a determined look on her face.
Y/n softly chuckled at the expressions the two had made, "I'll take you both there then. You know, you're welcome to explore the house whenever you please, I don't mind."
"B-but none of us have the guts to do so. It feels like we're disrespecting you," Armin stated as he and Annie followed behind Y/n, "Besides, this place is very big, I feel like I'm going to get lost in here if I take even one wrong turn."
Annie nodded, agreeing to what Armin had said. She was never really a talker in the first place, let alone in the place she doesn't really know much about.
Y/n let out a heartful laugh, which caught Annie and Armin off guard a bit. It had been a while since they have heard a genuine laugh from anyone other than a clueless child, it was refreshing to them for some reason. They blushed very lightly at this.
"I get what you mean by getting lost. I got lost at least a few times before getting the hang of it around here. I guess living alone for a few years can do something," Y/n stated.
"You live alone for how long?" Annie blurted out in question.
"A-ah Annie, this seems like a personal question!" Armin whispered to the other blonde in a slight panic.
Y/n waved his dismissively, "Don't worry about it, Armin. But I have been here for about 3 or 5 years on my own, I'm used to it and since I had so much free time back then, I have a bunch of work to do now. Better to keep myself busy than to do nothing. Anyways, Annie, here's your stop."
The two blondes didn't have time to comprehend what Y/n just said because they have reached their first destination to drop Annie off. They both gawked at the sight of the room filled with unknown equipment they never seen before.
"Here's the small gym I own," Y/n said as he walked in, the other two looking around as they walked behind him, "This is was you can use to enhance your speed, there are some lifts and weights over there, some bars, medicine balls for core exercises, boxes for leg exercises, and two punching bags over there to practice fighting. Annie, since you are practicing your strength and fighting skills, I suggest you use the weights and the punching bag the most. If you need anything you can just call me from using this button."
Annie looked to where Y/n was at. Next to Y/n was a button with a speaker on it, it was noticeable since it was a bright color and since Y/n was pointing at it for demonstrations.
"If for some reason you can't get to the button just yell ER and the speaker will turn on automatically and send a signal to my phone that you need help. The speaker allows me and you to communicate if you press the button or, of course, yell out."
"I... I don't know what to say," Annie muttered, "This is all so I can train?"
"They all look so complicated to use," Armin whispered to himself.
Y/n chuckled but nodded as he leaned on the wall, "Of course, and if anyone else wants to train they can use this room too. Of course, if you want privacy, I have another gym room but it's much smaller than this."
"Thank you, Y/n, this... this means a lot to me," Annie murmured as she plays with her hair slightly.
"Of course, I want all of you to feel like home until I can get you all back, if that's what you want. Come on Armin, you wanted to see the library correct?" Y/n questions as he walked out the door.
Armin's eyes lit up in joy, "Yes please! Bye, Annie, have fun!" He claimed in a happy manner which reminded Y/n of a puppy.
"Remember to use the button if you need help Annie," Y/n reminded as he closed the door.
Annie's eyes lingered at the door that was shut closed. A small silence took over the room other than the noise of the AC - she learned that from Y/n. She turned to the punching bag and walked up to it. She punched and was surprised by the stability. She wishes that Y/n didn't do so much for her sometimes.

"So Y/n, about earlier," Armin started as he and Y/n walked down the halls.
Y/n let out a hum in questioning, "What about earlier?"
Armin started to play with his fingers nervously, "On how you lived alone. I wanted to ask you about it but didn't get the chance to."
"Well what do you want to know?" Y/n asks with a raised brow.
"W-well, you're really young, maybe around my age or captains' but shouldn't that mean you should have support from someone older than you? Not meaning that I don't trust you or anything with handling yourself, I was just wondering."
Y/n stayed silent for a bit. He was thinking and rethinking at what Armin had just said. No, there was no older figure that helped him get to where he was, at least not one from the top of his head. The only person he can kinda think of was his boss, but even then Y/n didn't look up to him much.
"No," Y/n answered finally, "I don't think I do. I got here by working my ass off and I don't really remember having help along the way. Is there anything else you need to know?"
Armin's lips trembled a bit at Y/n had said. It wasn't enough information, it was like Y/n was putting up a wall between him and the characters, it was odd but understandable in a way.
"Do... Do people die often here?"
"Well of course, and before you think that it's a bad thing there are about 7.5 billion people in the world, so death is pretty common here, I guess."
Armin let out a sigh in light relief, "I guess that's good..."
Y/n let out a hum on conformation, "Oh, we're here by the way. Armin, welcome to the library I own," He said as he opened a door.
Armin's eyes widened at the sight of a room filled left and right with shelves and shelves of books. Everything was surprisingly clean and barely collected any dust. The room itself looked big too, so there were definitely at least a hundred books here.
"Th-there's so many... There's so many books here!!" Armin shouted in excitement.
Y/n laughed and leaned on the door frame watching as Armin looked back and forth from where he stood.
"There's fiction books, nonfiction books, and so much more," Y/n stated with a smirk, "Is there anything you would like to in particular, Armin?"
"The ocean!? The desserts?! Animals!? Anything?!?!" Armin cried out in shock turning to Y/n like he was some god.
Y/n blinked at how excited Armin was. Ever since he's been here, Armin has been very quiet and stuck to Eren and Mikasa the most, but now he was acting like a child, a whole different person.
Armin noticed Y/n's shocked look and recoiled back a bit, "I-I'm sorry, I-I was probably too loud. I'm sorry."
Y/n chuckled making Armin look up at him, "No, no, it was cute, I don't mind," He said with a smile.
Armin blushed a bit in embarrassment and appreciation at what Y/n had said to him. He smiled slightly and looked down.
"But the stuff you want is all over there in the corner, you can't miss them," Y/n said as he pointed to where a bunch of green, blue and black books were at, "Have fun Armin if you need anything, I'll be in my office, I'm sure you all already know where that is by now."
Armin chuckled a bit to himself as he rubbed the back of his head. Him and the other's always came to Y/n for help with something and they always found him in his office doing something, so the office became a well known place amongst the characters.
"Yes, thank you so much Y/n, you've done so much for us already, words seriously can't describe how thankful we are to have you," Armin stated as he took Y/n's hand to held it with gratitude, "We can't thank you enough."
Y/n mouth with slightly open in shock, but his lips turned upwards into a smile nonetheless, "Of course, Armin, I'll be here for all of you if you need it. Now go, read all the books you want, you have time so maybe read them all here."
Armin laughed a bit and nodded. He let go of Y/n's hand and ran straight to where Y/n had pointed to earlier. Y/n sighed with a smile and left the room, closing the door behind him.
Y/n walked down the halls as he though about what Armin had said to him. When he thinks about it, no had ever head that to him before, it was comforting to know that these characters are actually thankful for him. And in return, Y/n will be there for them if they need anything.
