"Hey, Nandini... you need to wake up!"

"Come on baby please wake up!"

"Nandini!"

There was darkness everywhere around me, the operation theatre lights were off as I stood near her lifeless body, trying to hold her hand.

There has to be some way to save her.

You can't leave me, Nandini.

"No baby! You have to wake up for our kids. Come on Nandini, you always wanted to be a mother! Get up Nandini, your kids need you!" I broke down in front of her lying body.

She looked so pale, dull, motionless, everything here was my worst fear.

"Nandini, I saved the kids because you wanted me to. But this bargain isn't about letting you go, please wake up, baby" I cried.

"I'm still like a baby without you. I don't know anything. I can't find a single thing in my house, in my office until you give it to me. You can't be so selfish, Nandini. You have to come back for me, jaan. You have to stay with me. You can't just come in my life whenever you want, turning it and making it beautiful and then leave because you're tired of everything. You have to stay jaan, stay with me. I'm not letting go of you so easily", I held her hand tightly as I sat in front of her, and she still remained still.

"If I can fight death for us, why can't you?" I held her face in my hand, rubbing my palm to her cheeks.

"Nandini, you know what, mein tumhe warn kar raha hu. If you don't get up within the next ten minutes na, toh mein dusri shaadi kar lunga. Yes! I swear I will get married again and then your kids wouldn't be yours anymore, they will be her kids. And see, I will fall in love with someone else. Phir tum kitna bhi gussa karlo, nothing will be changed. Isliye I am saving you from a lot of regret, uth jao tum abhi hi!" I shook her angrily but she still remained the same. Calm, quiet, and pale, still.

"You know, I am still the monster. Tum meri baat sunke bhi sun nahi rahi ho? How dare you ignore me? Get up once and dekho mein kya karta hu. Just get up once, Nandini, jaan please wake up. I'm missing you so much and this is killing me, the very thought of living a lifetime without you is killing me, Nandini. Please wake up, baby. Please get up!" I begged and that monster did not even budge. She still slept like a fucking sleeping beauty and ignored my pleads.

The doctor re entered the room and got shocked looking at us. "Is this an emergency room or a family seminar?" He scolded, walking towards me.

"Mr. Malhotra, you need to move out, please let the doctors do this our way," he requested politely trying to hold me but I pushed him away.

"Mr. Malhotra, this is your last queue, please get outside this room, you're not allowed to get into an operation theatre. Please get out before I have to call the guards!" He said staunchly and anger surrounded every vein of me as I turned behind and before I knew, my fist touched his chin which started bleeding.

"You can't take me away from my wife, old man!" I whisper screamed at him and he seemed furious, holding his chin where I just punched him.

"Guards! Guards!" He called from outside the door, walking away and I turned back to Nandini.

She's not dying. She's just asleep.

Nothing is happening to her. She has to get back to me.

"Excuse me sir?" Another voice disturbed me, as I turned behind to see the nurse standing with my baby boy in hand. Aarav.

"He's been awake since the past ten minutes and is crying ever since, so the doctor asked us to take him to you," she smiled politely, unaware of what was happening here as she placed him in my arms and Aarav immediately stopped crying, staring at me with his big eyes.

I looked at him in my arms and immediately all the anger I was feeling subsided, I felt calm and nice.

"Excuse me again sir? Please get out!" I heard a staunch voice and looked behind to see two guards standing in all black clothes, looking at me sharply.

Who just challenged Manik Malhotra?

"Try me," I replied back smirking and they came ahead, the moment they stepped towards me, Aarav started crying louder than before and all my attention got diverted.

"Hey Aarav, no baby!" I cradled him with a smile and he sniffed and sobbed louder, wailing and trying to get away from me. I wondered what had gotten into him suddenly when one of his hands suddenly touched Nandini's arm, making him hurt and he cried even louder.

"Baby it's okay, she's mamma!" I whispered and he stared at me for a while, suppressing his tears and making a pouty frown, sobbing loud.

"Aww—....," my words halted as I saw Nandini flinch at the place where Aarav's hand had touched her arm, slightly disturbed.

I was shocked and I kept staring at her slightly moved body for a minute before Aarav started crying again. Pursing my lips and hiding my smile, I gently placed him near Nandini, holding him so that none of them hurt each other.

He stopped crying and touched her arm, and she flinched again while he giggled looking at her weird reactions.

I motioned the nurse to call the doctor and she ran to him, smilingly.

Nandini was waking up. Aarav was waking up his mother.

"Nandini, wake up. Look who's here," I pressed my hand against her head, caressing it slowly and Aarav looked at us keanly before he tried climbing up on Nandini. He was too hyper for a few days old baby, always active and never troublesome as if he already understood everything.

He was going to be one adorable baby.

"Doctor!" I motioned him to come ahead and he smiled gently, taking Aarav up and giving him to me while he took an injection and I closed my eyes tightly, my hand gripping hers and he injected it into her.

He put the injection into her but I felt the pain.

"Hmm, her pulse rate stabilised and so did her breathing. The heart beats are getting back to normal. We have to keep her under surveillance but she seems to be getting back to normal. She should regain consciousness soon," he nodded.

"She's going to be just fine," he patted my back.

"Can I stay with her?" I asked slowly and he nodded and left the room, leaving us alone.

I looked at my lady lying there, who was struggling to open her eyes and I couldn't stop smiling.

She slowly moved her hands first and then wriggled, I could figure she was weak because she looked pale, but she tried her best to get up and come back to us. I wished I could help her and save her from the struggle but this was her battle to fight, not mine.

"Nurse, could you please shift their cradles with Nandini, she's their mother," I asked and she smiled, moving away.

I stared at Aarav in my arms and kissed his forehead. "Thank you baby!" I whispered while smiling and almost crying at the same time and he stared at me as if I was speaking some foreign language which ofcourse I was, but his small lips slowly broke out into a smile and he drifted back to a semi sleep state.

Nandini was a lot more better and I could see that by the way she was breathing, she would open her eyes anytime.

The hospital door opened and the staff brought in two cradle beds before my kids, with Myra in one. She was awake but just kept staring up at the different lights. I put her twin brother beside her and she looked at me with her keen intent eyes that she got from Nandini.

"Ma-nik-....," I finally heard a small whisper, of the voice I was dying to hear since the past one week.

Deeply sighing in happiness, I almost ran from their cradle to her bed, where she half lay with her eyes open, a small smile on her lips and her hand reaching out for mine.

I smiled dreamily and held her hand, sitting beside her.

"How— I—.. Doctor—.. no—.. the babies— I—...," I stammered to form a perfect sentence but failed.

"Shh," she cooed, putting her fingers on my lips and I kissed it gently, taking my everything that I had to not burst out crying.

"How could you do this? I was so—.. scared," I whispered and she weakly smiled.

"Well, we have a family now," she smiled and her eyes involuntarily reached the cradles beside her bed.

"Of course!" I smiled as I went there and first picked Aarav up and slowly gave it to her. I held him along with her for support as she was still weak but she nodded positively and I left him as I took Myra.

"He— He is so cute. He looks like you—..," there were tears in her eyes and I nodded smiling as I went and sat beside her with Mahi in my hand.

"Aarav," I told her and she chuckled kissing his forehead and he smiled. What a cooperative child we had, always smiling.

"How did you know I wanted to name the boy Aarav?" She seemed surprised and I smiled proudly. "Well, I dreamt of it," I beamed and she was confused but I took no efforts in explaining her as I took Aarav from her hand and handed her Myra.

"Her eyes—...," she was as surprised as I was when I saw her first. "—.. look just like you, don't they?" I completed her sentence and she smiled.

"Myra" I introduced and she smiled. "She's beautiful" she said. "Very" I smiled looking at my princess.

"I'm going to call him Neel. His nickname" she smiled and I raised my eyebrows, as if asking her why. She smiled again. "Neel means water, and water is necessary for everyone to live. He was necessary for me to live. If he wouldn't have cried, I wouldn't have been able to break myself from the darkness that was surrounding me slowly." She smiled.

"And her, Tara. Obviously, Tara means star. She's our shining star!" She was happy, and her face was immediately glowing while speaking about them.

"I'm very happy," she stated the obvious as she kept her head on my chest, she held Myra while I held Aarav.

"And so am I," I kissed her crown as I put my hands around her, holding my family.

The worst was over, and things were just going to be better now. Everything was going to be fine. Once again.

I opened my eyes feeling two pair of hands rubbing their hands all over my face and hair. I smiled intently looking at Myra sitting over my stomach and patting my cheeks while Aarav was sitting on my pillow, pulling my hair like I was their new musical instrument.

I smiled putting my hands around them. What was that? A nightmare? A dream? Maybe. But it was over. The worst was over. And the best was coming our way.

I heard the washroom door opening and then closing.

"Tara, Neel! Yeh kya kar rahe ho? Let paapaa sleep babies! How did y'all come here? Oh my, I'm not leaving you both abhi!" She shouted leaving the towel aside as she ran towards us and I smiled sleepily while the two giggled.

"The monster is back!" Myra laughed and Aarav high fied her, while I chuckled, as I took them both into a bear hug.

"Monster? Did you just call me a monster?" She shouted pounding upon the bed with us as she snatched Myra from my hand.

"I am a monster?" She mimicked her tickling Myra and Myra laughed away loudly. I stared at my girls in adore and love. The two most precious people of my life laughing away near me.

"Let them be!" I whispered turning towards them and she smiled. "It's time for them to sleep anyway," she scolded. "It's midnight, you munchkins," she held them in her arms.

"Can we sleep with you please?" Myra smiled pouting slowly and she knew none of the two of us could say no to her pouts.

"Okay come!" I called for them.

"Pillow fight?" Aarav smirked naughtily.

"Yes! Choose teams!" I shouted getting up on bed.

"Mamma!" Aarav announced putting his hand around Nandini's legs and she picked him up. "Of course, mamma ka chamcha!" I teased and he showed me his tongue, while Myra ran to me.

The next second, pillows were held and thrown and there were white feathers everywhere as giggles and love filled our room.
