Chapter 40

Run Away With Me

8:30 p.m. Regina's House

Evelina stiffened when her father pulled her into a desperate hug and clutched onto her frail body, as if she would disappear at any given second.

"Oh, Evelina, where the fuck have you been?" Jack Frost didn't even care about his foul language. He was both furious and relieved his daughter was back in his arms. Furious because she had left without giving anyone a single word, and relieved because she came back in one piece.

"I uh, I um, I-"

"EVELINA FROST! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" Evelina whimpered when she heard Regina's loud voice boom through the house. Regina's voice was followed by many pairs of feet, and in no time, Evelina was being smothered by everyone.

Snow was weeping with no sign of stopping anytime soon, she had to take a seat before she collapsed. David and Emma guided her to the couch.

Regina was furiously checking Evelina's body to make sure she didn't have a scratch on her. Regina yanked on her hands and inspected them before dropping them and moving onto her face. Evelina yelped as Regina clutched onto Evelina's face and inspected every inch.

"She's fine. No blood. Yet." She snapped and walked away when she was satisfied with the results. Hook had the young girl in a hug in mere moments, but was then pushed away by Henry Mills, who wanted his fair share of love as well.

Now Henry had a secret. And he didn't know how long it would remain one until someone got smart and began asking questions. He still had the blood letter, now decoded and in danger of falling into anyone's hands.
His trust had fallen into the hand of the pirate, Killian Jones, and they both knew everything in that letter was pure gold. He needed to tell Evelina.

But as he watched Evelina be scowled and praised by her surrounding friends and family, he decided it was not the right time.

Evelina was growing quite annoyed and frustrated. She was now in the arms of her father again and he did not want to let go.

"Please I'm starved. I need to eat." She groaned and Regina scoffed.

"Well one would thinks so. We shouldn't even feed you, see if that teaches you a lesson." Regina snapped and Snow shook her head before running off into the kitchen to whip something up for Evelina to consume.

Evelina managed to get out of her fathers grip and ran in after Snow.

She took a seat at the kitchen table and watched as Snow ran around, getting everything ready for Evelina. She was making sandwiches. Evelina grew am very with herself when she saw how maddening Snow was running around. She knew it was because she was nervous and anxious. Evelina knew she was the reason for Snows behavior. She knew she had caused it.

"Snow..."

"Yes?" She said, quite rushed as she grabbed the bread and threw on ham and cheese. Evelina watched.

"I'm sorry I left." The young girl whispered. She now felt ashamed about everything. But before Snow could even respond, the group of adults (and Henry) walked into the kitchen.

"Ironic isn t it? You were upset that they were going to send you away from town to keep you safe from Pan, and instead you're found travelling the realms with him." Regina growled and Evelina turned a light shade of red.

"I'm taking her with me now. Can't risk it again." Jack Frost said and looked down at his daughter. She was now confused and horrified at the idea of leaving town.

"Wait no-"

"Pack whatever you need and lets get going, I told North I wouldn't take long." Jack said, completely ignoring whatever Evelina had to say now.

"But dad-"

"Go Evelina. Now." Jack said in what he liked to call his dad voice. As cool as Jack could be, he sometimes became the strict father Evelina didn't exactly enjoy.

The young girl saw no choice and frowned. She walked into the guest room at Regina's house, where she had another set of back-up clothes, and began shoving it all into her suitcase. She sniffed and tried her hardest to keep her cries to herself. Evelina felt a sudden breeze hit her bare skin and she heard the wind from outside howl. Evelina knew something the presence behind her. Evelina quickly wiped away the tears that had escaped and tried her hardest to smile. But she miserably failed.

"Pathetic ain't I?" She asked and a voice chuckled.

"Not pathetic sweetheart, just very emotional."

8:30 p.m. Pan's Mayor Office

Sebastian sat on a chair in the mayors office, bored out of his mind as he watched his boss, Peter Pan, listen to everything Felix was telling him. The blond boy informed Pan everything that had happened the last couple of days. And he was not happy.

Peter Pan slammed his hands against his desk and glared furiously at his right hand man.

"What do you mean her father is now in town?!" Peter growled and Felix nodded slowly.

"He came once he got word about what had happened. I'm assuming he came to see how Evelina was doing." Felix said and Sebastian nodded. Peter then turned to Bash and frowned.

"And what did you do to try and stop him?" Peter snapped and Sebastian rolled his eyes.

"Nothing. He's a guardian! I can't do anything against him, I'll freeze to death!" Bash exclaimed. Peter was about to growl but then restrained saying anything else when he realized Bash was right. Jack Frost would take down Sebastian in seconds.

"Fair point." Pan mumbled and sat down at his desk again. He rubbed his face when he began to think again about Evelina. She was all his thoughts had been about since he had left her. His mind turned fuzzy everything her smile crept into his mind.

"He's here to take her away from me, isn't he?" Peter said as he finally came to a realization of what will probably when Jack left. He would disappear with Evelina at hand.

And Peter Pan sure as hell wasn't going to let that happen.

9:00 p.m. Regina's House, The Guest Room

Evelina didn't even jump when she heard the voice. Instead she smiled and turned around to meet the green eyes she had become very fond of.

"My father's here." She said softly and Pan's jaw clenched.

"I know." He reponded.

"I have to go."

"Is that so?"

"Apparently." She muttered and continued to place clothes away. Pan watched her. She didn't face him as she began to fold her shirts.

"Come with me." He suddenly said and Evelina stopped.

"Where?"

Pan shrugged.

"Away. To another realm. Wherever you want to go." He said and walked up behind her. Evelina sensed him close and turned around. She peered up at him through her eyelashes and tilted her head slightly.

"And what about your so called New Neverland?" She mused softly and Peter winked down at her.

"As long as you stay with me anywhere can be our kingdom princess." He said cheekily and Evelina blushed a deep red before shyly looking down at her feet.

"How sweet." She smiled.

"So what do ya say, love? Run away with me?" Peter Pan asked her.

Evelina considered it. It was insane that she was even considering it. Could she really leave her family behind to run away with a boy who was technically considered a villain?
Could she really just pick up all her stiff and leave?

Evelina let out a breath and looked up to meet Peter Pan's eyes, who still was waiting for Evelina's response. The young girl smiled, with a small twinkle in her eyes, and gave a beautiful laugh that Pan craved to hear at every moment of his day.

And she finally said the word Peter hoped she would say.

"Okay."
