*~PROLOGUE~*

Ari's POV

                   I feel arms engulf me in a bear hug, shocked I turn to see my best friend Cole he picks me up and spins me around as I yell "Cole put me down!" he laughs but does as I say.

          He knows about my fear of heights, and flying. But he doesn't think I'm afraid of that. I have always wondered what he means by that, and on a few occasions I have found the courage to ask him what he means. But to my demise he just changes the subject.

       "Ariiiiiii when are you going to stop acting like a baby?!" he teases but his emotion changes to pity and Understanding when he sees the look of sadness in my eyes.

"Ariana I'm sorry, you know I didn't mean to." he apologizes sympathetically, I just gulp and turn to walk home.

        It doesn't matter. I'm not supposed to be around him anyways, my Dad would get mad. I'm not even supposed to be out this late. It's not safe for a 12 year old vampire to be out this late. I turn and wave good night to Cole and start walking Home.
