Rudra Oberoi recalls how after his first launch Never Settle, nobody knew what to do with him [Exclusive]

Pyaar Daard star Rudra Oberoi recalls his old days as he gets exclusively candid with Bollywoodlife and speaks about how nobody believed in him in the initial days.

Pyaar Daard star Rudra Oberoi has come a long way. His journey in the industry is every bit inspiration for every outsider (having no godfather to lead the way) who dreams to become an actor in Bollywood. The struggle that he did to reach where he is, is REAL! While today he enjoys all the name and fame and most importantly he is called an actor and star of the millennial which he rightly deserves.

Rudra Oberoi began his journey with web series called Never Settle and slowly he evolved as a fundamental lead and later a host in the internationally claimed award show, IFB. He then got an opportunity in Prem Kumar Laghari's Pyaar Daard produced by Johnson Alistair, which is now shooting the sky with success.

"My sister-in-law is my favourite. She was the one who convinced my father regarding my debut in the film industry. My father and mother were then very scared, they thought only drugs and parties are held here (talking about Bollywood). However, Vahini stood up in my support and gradually all understood my fondness for acting." He says when asked about his godfather in the entertainment industry. He also speaks of having more than in-laws relation with his sister-in-law, Annika Gaikwad.

"Vahini still maintains my financial services. She reasonably put together my allowance into some investments." He wrapped up with a smile lingering on his lips.

"It's showing positive." Shivaay swirled his tongue around the edges of his lips, as he trudged ahead of the wash basin.

"All four are the same. It's positive." Annika plummeted to the floor basking in all the tests in her arms, cradling them fondly.

He didn't speak. Instead, he slipped beside her pulling out a test from her grasp. His eyes fixed over the plastic things that bore a little positive (+) sign on the display. His lips trembled, throat throbbed as he glanced at it all over again, it was the same as the other three were.

"Not a prank right?" He asked with a twitching brow and throbbing throat, and his capillaries popped out of his neck and arms.

She didn't speak but buried her head between her knees and wailed.

Slowly with rippling hands, Shivaay gave rise to the plastic thing to reach out to the entrance of his nose.

The smell was similar to urine.

She wasn't pranking. He thought with a scrunched complexion.

"It smells of pee. Did you?"

"Deva re deva, majha navara pagal ahe!" She cried out as Shivaay bit his lips for asking such a dumb question, at least in this situation.

[Trans - My God, my husband is crazy!]

"Mein Pagal nahi hu, I wasn't able to think in straight mind. Tum kya jaano baap hone ka daar!"

[Trans - I'm not crazy, how will you know the anxiety about being a father!]

"You say being a mother is manageable? I swear to my baappa I will strangle you before this baby pops out. Don't you wish to raise your kid?" She gritted her teeth narrowing her vision at him while clawing her fingers to reach out to him.

"I take my words back." Shivaay raised his hands in acquiescence as his wife was about to blast off on him. To be honest, he was stupid and he subconsciously agrees to that.

"We have to cancel the plans of freezing eggs." Shivaay started collecting all four tests and tossing them in the plastic bag, yanking them from the cupboard of the bathroom.

"Shivi but-" she jacked her head looking straight to match his level of sight. He examined his wife, her nose still jogging, eyes fluffed-puffed up and tears strained her face.

"Are you happy Shivi? You are going to be a father. Saal ke anth tak hamaara ek chhota bachcha hoga, Shivi. Baby would call us Aai and Baba." She smiled as the tears railed down her cheeks. Her cheeks still looked flushed but the contentment she was facing was far too more than that.

[Trans - at the end of the year we will be holding a tiny baby in our arms.]

"I'm." He honestly replied scooping her in his arms and cuddling leaning against the wall. "I'm always looking for your happiness and this is the best way to get you happy."

"I'm not asking for my happiness Shivaay but your. Are you?" She swirled to face his face.

"Honestly I am still digesting this but delighted at the same time. All these years we are alone in our own lives but now we will have responsibilities. We can't do crazy stuff." She flashed as he mentioned crazy stuff. She along with her husband had spent quality time faking as girlfriend and boyfriend when they were already married. She wouldn't help but laugh and act crazy with her sweet and sour husband.

"We will. I'm sure of it." She assured him as he nervously placed his chin on her shoulder and wrapped his arms around her waist. This is what he did regularly however today it felt good at the same time differing. His callous and cold hangs passed into her pullover and rested on her midsection.

Was a baby growing in there? Will it be ugly similar to Sid and Mallika's, what he had years back claimed to be.

The feel was something he never had experienced. It was overwhelming happiness and many other thoughts swam in him as he caressed her skin surface. Annika laughed sensing his cold palms, it was ticklish.

"What if? What if this was inaccurate and we are jumping in pleasure without looking at a conclusion?" She frowned heeding his unsure tone. He, himself wasn't pleased to think about it, like such possibilities.

"Don't forget we tried a couple of them in different durations. It's been a while - wait it's nearly fifteen to twenty days since my last cycle. So?"

"Don't think negatively Shivaay." He slapped his cheeks and shook his head vigorously throwing away all unpleasant thoughts.

"Let's go and get confirmed by an OB-GYN." She tugged his arms and pressed her body weight on his shoulders as she stood up on her two feet.

"No. First I need to speak to you." He said still sitting on the bathroom tile.

"About? Purchasing a home? We have it Shivi you are stressing more."

"That too is in my mind but that's not what I'm speaking." Annika glimmered. "I'm sure you are upset with Om. I'm too but-"

"But what?"

"I can't leave him no matter what. I was wrong speaking about preferences. My family; my parents and cousins are everything, they are my heart, my endurance at the same time you are my heartbeat. I beat every second for you. It was my foolishness to speak that insensitively. I'm so sorry."

Annika pulled her lower lips between her teeth avoiding speaking or yelling halfway. She wanted to give him a fair chance to express his views and didn't want herself abruptly end it.

"We have grown together. People may call us cousins but I never really consider them the same. He is more than my best friend, my brother. He didn't mean to spoil our lives but wanted to be frank with us." He told.

"What exactly he did speak of? You were too disturbed by his words I remember." She was about to settle down beside him in an uncomfortable way but by then Shivaay adjusted himself giving sufficient place to her.

"He said he had no hard feelings, excluding the initial days. Now he wanted to wash off his remorse for wishing for his sister-in-law by beholding the truth."

"What do you think?"

"I don't know. Once I feel that it was he who hid stuff and complicated things. In another aspect, I assume it is our close behaviour that pushed him to take extremes. He was in relation with a woman elder even after lots of opposition but with a kid. I don't understand." He whimpered.

"I understand. We weren't direct reasons for him to go away. We were just being ourselves in the very beginning. I love HR but can cry stating that he dating another young singer?"

"That's different. If he would have existed as someone from outside I wouldn't have been this worried. I am thinking of his well being along with ours, I don't want any rift between us. Also, our family is unknown to this."

"Talk to him once. He is moving on in life with Aru, if you talk calmly he may rethink starting afresh."

"Will he listen to me?"

"Aren't you brother of him? He will. Go on."

He hummed low. "You comprehend me right? My terms, my struggle between two important people in my life?"

"I do. But-"

"But what?"

"-you did take the lead in haste. It did hurt me. Those prioritising terms pierced my soul but at the same time, I do understand you, I may not have grown up in a joint family or with cousins but I do."

"Thank you for your forgiveness baby."

"I'm not forgiving you but forgetting. I will always bring this out as a trump card in our arguments."

Shivaay laughed.

"How do you think of this all the time? Always deal, bargain arguments haan?" He raised his brows.

"I'm Arundhati's only daughter and Tej Oberoi's only daughter-in-law as of now." She flipped her hair back over her shoulder with a proud smile.

"What am I then?"

"You are my sweet Mom and papa's only son and only damaad of grumpy Harsh Gaikwad. Haha."

[Trans - son-in-law]

Both broke out laughing as Annika imitated her grumpy father who threatened Shivaay.

"Accha chalo, let's get you to examine. We might be having Sitara." He nibbled her ear lobe and she stretched upwards her lips as she parted them releasing a soft moan.

[Trans - okay come]

"I had forgotten about Sitara Shivi! S & S matches. If it's a boy we will match with A."

"How is Vaidehi? Is she okay?" Kalyani and other religious travellers asked the same question as soon as the doctor exited the ward.

"Vaidehi Ji is still in the process of healing, her foot injury has ultimately reached the infection stage. We are trying our best to make it stop within 48 hours or the gangrene may spread and also be deathly." The doctor explained with a soft spot for the elders.

Kalyani felt too remorseful.

The elders, their friends and acquaintances had planned a month-long religious trip from the north to each temple and religious beliefs spots. And just before they were returning to their home Vaidehi slipped on the icy ground and hurt her foot badly. Due to a lack of knowledge and experience to treat the wound, it started infecting until they reached the local government hospital, which was miles away from their stay.

"Kya bolo Arundhati aur Harsh ko?" She cried stuffing her veil in her mouth.

[Trans - what should I say to Arundhati and Harsh?]
