Chapter Twenty Nine.

Alena remained silent as she continued to lie on Samuel's bare chest, straddling his waist with his arms wrapped tightly around her as he held her to him. She could feel the rise and fall of his broad chest as she listened to his heartbeat under her ear. She was savouring the moment that she was with her werewolf mate, she was enjoying the comfortable silence that had fallen between them and she was enjoying being wrapped in his muscular arms and protected from the outside world.

She didn't want to admit it out loud more than she already had but she was terrified of what tomorrow would bring. She knew that tomorrow would not be pretty and it would take a long time for them all to recover from tomorrow events but she knew that that was to be expected from a war or fight. There was a small difference between a war and a fight but she knew that a fight was inevitable.

Tabitha would stop at nothing until she had her heart in her hand and drained all of her powers or influenced her decision so much that she chose the wrong side and turned the world into a dark place when it came to her making her final. Dark ones would follow Tabitha's lead, it was common for witches of the same beliefs to stick to each other and follow one another and she had learnt from her mum and grandparents that Tabitha was very influential within the dark ones community which meant that more dark ones were likely to follow her than if she were a regular which. Rogues had joined with Tabitha to fight against Samuel and his pack and it was clear that it would be witches and werewolves fighting on both sides which meant that the odds were even in the sense of mythical beings.

Samuel and his pack would stop at nothing to make sure that she was safe and protected. She had been surrounded by his pack members on the night that she had been introduced to them all and she had seen just how many pack members that Samuel had and she knew that she would be well protected. She also had her two protectors which meant that she would be glued to their side for protection. Dean was the Alpha of the neighbouring pack and Samuel had told her that his pack would be helping in the fight and although she hadn't meet Dean's pack she guessed that it was of a similar size to Samuels which meant that there would be a lot of wolves on their side. Alena hated that her mum would be taking part in the fight but she knew that there was nothing that she could say to convince her mum that she should stay with her dad below in the underground bunker that Samuel had told her about. Her dad would be joining the women, children, elderly, human mates and those that didn't want to fight as he was human and couldn't fight, her dad hadn't been happy but it was for the best and she was happy that he would be safe. Reece would also be down in the bunker so that his magical powers and werewolf abilities would be helpful in case of an attack. The oracles, her grandparents, Darius and the witches that came with him would also be fighting and from what Samuel had told her there was already and plan set in place form the formation of tomorrow.

With a side wanting her dead or to influence her decision and side that wanted to protect her, both sides determined on getting there way a fight would break out and she hated to think of all of those that would get injured tomorrow and those that may or may not lose their lives. She wished that there was some other way for this to happen without so many people being involved but she had to come to terms with the fact that it was happening tomorrow and people would get hurt.

Samuel had wanted her to stay out of the fight and below in the bunker but she had argued with him telling him that if she wasn't at his side then Tabitha would go looking for her and the women, children, elderly, the human mates and those that didn't want to fight would be harmed when they went looking for her. He had disagreed but given in when Frank had taken in to consideration her point and agreed with her, Samuel hadn't been happy but he hadn't argued back at his dad.

She felt Samuel begin to run his hands through the ends of her hair that was still a little damp from the shower she had had earlier in hopes of taking her mind off of everything that was happening but it hadn't been that easy. Every thought that went around in her head was about tomorrow, the what ifs becoming and endless list of events that could happen tomorrow.

She was sure that she would not be getting any sleep and neither would Samuel who held her so tightly to him with his grip neither loosening letting her now that he didn't plan on getting any sleep soon as his grip would've loosened. Her head had start to pound slightly and although it wasn't hurting her it was uncomfortable constantly have pressure on her brain.

She had been right when she thought that she wouldn't get any sleep as she was awake when the light began to shine through Samuel's curtains. Sleep had refused to take her as she lay wide awake all night along with Samuel who had continued to run his finger through the ends of her hair and place kisses on the top of her head every now and then reassuring her that he was there, that he was awake and with her. She had listened to his heartbeat all night whilst drawing lazy patterns on his bare chest with her fingers; she would smile softly when she felt a shiver run through his body at her touch.

"We should get up." Samuel told her softly and she knew that he was right but she didn't want to get up. She didn't want to face the reality of the situation that would soon be slapping her in the face. She had been so comfortable in his arms, surround by his warmth and him but she had mentally been preparing herself all night for the moment that there time together would be over.

"Will you help me get ready?" She asked him softly as she removed her head from where it had been resting on his chest so that she could look at him. He was looking down at her, his brown eyes locking with hers as a number of emotions flashed across his beautiful brown eyes. She didn't like the sadness that seemed to settle on his face as she reached up with her hand and gently cupped his check as he leant into her touch.

"I'll always do as you ask." He murmured softly as he turned his head so that he could kiss her palm sending tingles through her palm and up her arm.

"We should get up." She told him gently as she repeated what he had told her earlier. She watched as he sighed quietly and opened his eyes whilst giving her a small nod of his head.

Samuel gently lifted her off the ground and carried her to the bathroom where he sat her gently on the counter before he grabbed there toothbrushes and put a small line of tooth paste on the bristles before wetting them and handing hers to her. He stood between her legs whilst they booth brushed their teeth in silence looking up at each other the entire time before the spat and rinsed their mouths.

"I'll go get our clothes ready." He murmured pressing a soft kiss to her lips before darting out of the bathroom and shutting the door behind him.

She slide of the counter and turned to look at herself in the mirror. Her hair seemed limp and she had deep bags under her eyes from getting no sleep but she didn't care what she looked like as she splashed cold water on her face before doing her businesses. She exited the bathroom to see that Samuel had just finished laying out the clothes he had chosen for them to wear and that he had changed his boxers as well.

"I'll be right back." He told her as he ducked into the bathroom and shut the door behind him.

She headed over to the bed to see that he had laid out a fresh pair of underwear for her. She eyed the bathroom before she stripped of the t-shirt she wore and her dirty underwear before she grabbed the fresh set and put it on. Samuel appeared from the bathroom as she had just finished with the clasps of her bar. She watched as his eyes trailed over her exposed body, she blushed lightly but didn't make a move to cover herself up as he walked towards her.

"You're so beautiful little mate." He whispered to her as he hands gently took her by the waist and pulled her to him so that they were flush against each other.

"I want to complete the mating process when everything's over." She told him shyly as she blushed unable to meet his gaze as she lowered her head. He gently gripped her chin between his fingers and titled her head so that she was looking up at him. She could see the desire in his eyes, the love and adoration that sparkled in his chocolate eyes.

"Only when you're ready." He told her as he dipped his head so that he could kiss her lips with a hunger that she had never felt from him before.

"We should get ready, the pack is ready and waiting." He told her softly as his thumb stroked her cheek as he reached behind her a grabbed the top he had chosen for her which was once of his.

She allowed him to dress her, shivered when his hands would gently brush against the bare skin of her shoulders of stomach as he pulled the t-shirt of her top half or when his fingertips ran across the sensitive skin of her legs as he pulled her skinny jeans for her before she tucked his shirt into her jeans. She too dress him as she pulled a jumper over his top half, she would feel his muscles bunched up under her small fingers tips and she felt him shivered when she helped him pulled on his jeans. They helped each other with putting on the socks he had laid out as the stood in front of each other now fully clothes, with their jumpers and coats in Samuel's arms while he held her shaking hand in his.

The headache she had had all night had increased and the pain was dull and tolerable but it was more uncomfortable than it had been last night and she put it down to her recovering from her sudden fever.

"Are you ready?" He asked her.

"I'm ready." She told him in a small voice.

She allowed him to gently pull her out of his room and along the corridors before climbing down the many steps, they didn't pass any pack members as they usually did and the pack house was quieter than usual with a soft hum coming from the bottom of the steps on the ground floor telling her that people were gathered down stairs. As they stopped at the bottom she was greeted with the sight of the oracles and their husbands, her parents and grandparents, Frank and Marie, Daniel and Dean and a werewolf she didn't know standing by the door to the kitchen. They had pulled on their coats and jumpers on the way down and she could see that everyone was similarly dressed.

"It's time, everyone is waiting outside." Frank spoke first as he stepped forward so that he stood in front of her and Samuel.

""We will protect you with our pack, and our live Alena," Frank told her and he surprised her when he kissed her fore head before he embraced Samuel.

"Do not fear Alena, you'll be safe." Marie told her before she hugged her close and stepped aside so that she could hug and his son. She watched the current Alpha air moved aside and began to say their good byes; she had to look away when she saw Marie beginning to cry.

The oracles stepped forwards then not saying a word as they embraced her tightly, she had been surprised when their husbands had also embraced her without a word before walking out the front door to where she guessed the pack was waiting for them. She knew that now words were needed and everything that needed to be said had been said in the hug. They were there for her, they would protect her and fight for her and she wasn't alone.

She had to blink back tears as she was faced with her parents and grandparents who looked at her with saddened expressions although determination burned bright in the eyes. She stepped away from Samuel allowing him time with his family as she walked towards her own. She surprised her grandparents by hugging them without a word, they may not had spoken a lot but they were her family and they were willing to risk their lives for her and that was enough for her to forgive them for what they had done to her mum.

As she stepped away and faced her parents who were both holding back tears she was swept into a hug by the both and the same time. She muffled her soft cries in the shoulder of her dad who she held on to tightly. He would not be taking part in the fight and so he wouldn't know what was happening, if they were winning or losing.

"I love you." He dad told her as they pulled away and he took her face in his hands, his eyes glazing over with unshed tears as he stared directly into her eyes.

"I love you to dad." Her voice cracked at the end as she pulled her into a separated hug.

"Chose wisely." He whispered in her ear as he kissed her forehead before releasing her handing her to her mum who was opening crying.

"I'll protect you with everything I can Alena, I love you." She whispered in her ear.

"I'll protect you mum, I love you." She whispered.

They shared one more family hug whilst she listened to her parents whisper to each other, claiming their love for one another and their promises to keep Alena safe. Alena was heartbroken at the sight of her parents as they kissed before her dad stepped back and the werewolf she hadn't known lead her dad out the room and to where she guessed the underground bunker was.

She felt and arm wrap around her waist and knew that it was Samuel as she curled herself up into his side. Her mum smiled reassuringly at her side before she headed towards the front door with her grandparents. She was left with Samuel, Daniel and Dean and she guessed that Frank had gone out the front door when she was saying goodbye to her parents and Marie to had slipped away at the same time.

"It'll be fine." Samuel told her softly as he used the pad of his thumb to wipe away her tears whilst keeping a firm arm around her waist.

"I love you." She told him, hoping he would see how much she meant it, how much she really did love him.

He smiled softly and she knew that he understood her, "I love you to."

He pressed his lips to hers without a second thought. Although it was a short and simple kiss it was everything that she needed in the situation as she sighed when he pulled her away and nodded her head.

"Let's go." He said as he led her towards the front door. Her heart pounded against her chest and her hands began to sweat as she felt a sick feeling in her stomach, the headache increased as did the pain but she tried to ignore it.

Daniel and Dean followed a little behind them as she reached out and grabbed Daniel's had, he didn't say anything on squeezed it gently as they walked out the front door and came face to face with those who would be fighting. A small gasp escaped her lips as she took in the amount of people in front of her; she hadn't expected so many people to turn up and she was touched that so many people were in front of her. She stood next to Samuel on the top of the steps with Daniel and Dean at her side whilst Frank flanked Samuel who was gazing proudly at those in front of him.

"I'm not sure what today will bring for us all but I do know that no matter what we are going to win this, we are going to show those dark ones and those rogues who stand against us that we are not to be messed with and we will protect our own with everything we have, that we will protect the innocent and fight for what we believe in. We will fight for Alena, my mate and your future Luna." Samuel spoke across the crowd, his voice carrying so that everyone could hear what he said. Everyone nodded the head in agreement, with smiles on their faces; she was surprised when some began to clap whilst others cheered.

She suddenly found herself the centre of attention as everyone looked at her when the clapping and cheering had stopped, she looked up at Samuel not knowing what to do but as he did was nod his head at her whilst she turned back to the expectant faces.

"I..," She began, her voice soft buts he knew that they had heard it with their enhanced hearing, "I would never ask any of you to give your lives for me, to fight today but I can't thank you enough for turning up and standing here. I don't know what will happen but I do know that I'll try my hardest to protect you all. "

She was amazed when the people at the front of the crowd bowed their heads in respect at her words before the line behind them did the same and soon the entire crowd had bows their heads in respect, including the witches and her own mum who stood at the side with her head titled down. She looked up at Samuel to see that he was smiling down at her proudly.

Her heart ached at the sight, it was the smile that she loved showing off the dimple he had on one cheek. She felt her version blur at the sight but she rushed to blink away her tears as she buried her face in his chest. His arm that hadn't be wrapped around her came around her and pulled her closer to her chest as he held her.

"Never let me." She whispered so softly so that she knew that only Samuel could her.

"Never." Samuel told her, promise in his voice as he kissed the top of her head.

"It's time to get ready, they are approaching." Frank informed them all.

She pulled away from Samuel so that he only had one arm around her and took hold of Daniel's hand again that she had let go of when she had leant into Samuel.

The pack had already began to get into their positions around the house and onto the front lawn whilst Samuel gently lead her to the positions they would be taking at the front of the field and where she guessed would be the direction that the dark ones and the rogues came from. She had expected to meet them somewhere else, away from the house but then it made sense as no one would hear or see what was going on as the pack house was in the middle of the woods.

Daniel squeezed her hand before he let go off it and she turned around, scared and frightened as she saw him and Dean had stopped a foot of two away, both of them watching her every move as they gave a short nod. She heard the sound of clothes tearing and she jumped at the sound as she turned to see that some of the pack had shifted into their wolves whilst others stayed in their human form, they look threatening and scary.

She looked around to see that the werewolves had formed a circle around the house with many wolves creating another two circles, witches stood between every fifteen in the middle row. Her mum was stood between Frank and another well-built man and she knew that her mum was protected as was every other witch.

"They're here." Samuel whispered to her as she turned her head back so that she was scanning the forest that was a dozen metres away from them.

It was silent apart from a few growls that broke through the chest of the werewolves around them. They didn't have to wait long before Tabitha appeared from the treeline with a sadistic smile on her beautiful face whilst Adrian stood at his mum's side a similar smile on his face as she starred directly at her. She resisted the urge to shrink back as Samuel growled at him from deep within his chest. Behind Tabitha appeared a row of witches all walking with confidence and not showing any fear before rogues appeared growling and snarling behind them, then red eyes scanning the crowd. It was clear that they had a lot of both witches and rogues but Alena knew that there was an even chance of winning and with the aid of Dean's pack that would turn up behind them they had the upper hand.

"It's nice to see you again Alena," Tabitha spoke to her as many of the pack members growled, "Alpha Samuel."

"You won't win this." Samuel spoke, his voice as cold as the weather that surrounded them.

"It's not about winning or losing it's about the good of our world." Tabitha glared at Samuel.

"Which would be going against you." Samuel was calm and collected which was more than Tabitha who looked angry that Samuel was talking to her.

"Adrian." Tabitha summoned her son with a wave of her hand. Alena felt herself feeling sorry for Adrian despite what he had done to her as it was clear Tabitha thought of Adrian as her servant rather than her son. She watched as Adrian walked towards his mum who whispered something in his ear causing him to smirk before disappearing into the forest. She was confused as to why Adrian was being sent away and prepared herself for an attacked, she could see that everyone else was ready for an attack as well as they tensed and got into fighting stances.

"As I was saying," Tabitha cleared her throat before starring at Alena intently, "if you join us and chose our world over yours we will spare the lives of your family and mate and if you don't you will die along with everyone else."

"You won't win this." She repeated what Samuel had said earlier in a low voice as she looked Tabitha in the eye without blinking.

"Have it your way." Tabitha smirked.

Alena's hands had already come out in front of her to protect her and those around her from any attack that Tabitha threw their way. Tabitha didn't attack; she only stepped aside to reveal Adrian who was dragging someone along by the arm, she would recognise the red hair that flowed behind the girl anywhere. Alena gasped as she stepped forward with her hand to her mouth only to have Samuel wrap his arms around her waist and pull her back. She watched as Adrian stopped beside his mum with a smirk on his face as he let go of her arm and grabbed her chin forcing her to look up as her green eyes meet Alena's blue ones, regret clear in them.
