Chapter Twenty Four.
Alena was nervous. She thought that she had been nervous about entering the pack house and living under the same roof as a number of werewolves for the week but she realised walking through the front door a few minutes ago was just a breeze. She was terrified at the thought of meeting the pack and being accepted by everyone. She had expected to meet many people during the week and had prepared herself but she hadn't prepared herself for meeting an entire pack. She had no idea how many members were part of Samuel pack but she guessed that it had to be a lot if the majority of her small town were werewolves.
It didn't help that she didn't cope well in crowds let alone being the centre of attention which she was sure she was going to be for the evening. She was Samuel's mate and Samuel was an Alpha, which meant that she was feeling the pressure. Samuel was perfect and she wasn't, she was clumsy and sure that she was going to trip in front of everyone. The thought only made her feel more nervous as she groaned out loud and ran her hands through her hair before grabbing fistfuls and tugging on the slightly.
She desperately wanted the pack to like her and she wasn't going to pretend to be someone she wasn't, she just hoped that they liked her for who she was rather than who she wasn't. As well as Samuel being an Alpha she also had two protectors. She remembered how Frank had said that they were rare, really rare and she was lucky enough to have two who both happened to be of an Alpha bloodline. She was sure that that in itself was enough to attract attention to herself.
"Wow, what's going on in here?" A voice called from behind her.
She had been left alone in Samuel's bedroom after he helped her unpack and stayed with her a while, he had left to go and get them both a snake before tonight. She had been so wrapped up in her thoughts that she hadn't heard his bedroom door open from behind her and so when someone spoke from behind her she squeaked out in shock before spinning around. Her hands had automatically gone out in front of her as she propelled whoever it was back and away from her.
She stood frozen in shook at what she had done. She had never used her magic to defend herself as she had always frozen on the spot, and her mind had been a jumbled mess which meant it was almost impossible for her to concentrate on anything but the potential threat let alone her magic. She was surprised at herself for reacting so quickly and using her magic to defend herself but she was horrified. She hadn't given it a second thought before throwing the person in the air and away from her; it was as if she hadn't even been the one in control.
The realisation that she hadn't even been in control of herself when she had acted out scared her more than anything that had happened to her in the past. She was pretty sure that she would rather face the rogue that seemed to have wanted her dead then loss control of herself and her power again. She didn't know if it would happen again and she didn't know if it did happen whether or not it would have a good or bar results.
A series of groans had her snapping her head up to see that Daniel and Dean lay crumpled on the floor a few feet away on their stomachs. She couldn't believe that she had just thrown them across the bedroom.
She ran over to the both feeling numb and shaky as she crouched down between them both, her hands were shaking as she reached out to touch both of their shoulders. "I'm so sorry, I didn't even know what I was doing, you scared me and I didn't know what to do. I'm really sorry, are you hurt? Oh gosh you're hurt aren't you! I'm so sorry."
"Alena," Dean chuckled cutting her off as he and Daniel pushed themselves up from the ground and to the floor, "we're fine. You didn't hurt us you just caught us of guard, we're werewolves and werewolves don't feel pain and can take a hit."
"I'm really sorry; I didn't mean to push you guys away." She felt awful. She was consumed with guilt as her stomach clenched with the guilt she felt. She needed to talk to the oracles. She didn't want to lose control and someone get seriously hurt, she was lucky that it hadn't been to forceful and that they were werewolf.
"Alena, we're fine. That was pretty cool anyway." Daniel grinned as he pulled her into a one armed hug for reassured.
She sighed into him as she wrapped both her arms around him. He was Samuel and she didn't feel the same relief and safety she felt when she was in his tightly embrace but Daniel's and Dean's was close to it, she felt protected and she knew that it was because they were made to protect her in a way.
"Pretty cool?" Dean asked in disbelief as Daniel released me and walked over to the sofa's that lounged a few feet away from Samuel's bed. "That was insane!"
She remembered the first time that she had been in Samuel's room and how she hadn't looked around. She had taken to Samuel's room, it was large a spacious with a television hanging on the wall while sofas sat in front of it and the large bed was seated a few feet away. She had asked Samuel about the sofas and he had said that he liked to have his own living space that he could escape to, she understood and she guessed that being an Alpha or soon to be Alpha was a hard and demanding job. The room was nicely decorated with dark blues walls and cream bedding as well as the sofas being cream. The bathroom was just as nice with a shower and a bath as well as a toilet and sink.
She remembered how she had blushed when Samuel had sheepishly told her that she would be staying in his room with him. She didn't mind she only knew that it would be hard from him to control himself and his wolf around her especially as they would be staying in the same room and the same bed but they wouldn't be having sex, she knew that for sure and it wasn't because she didn't want him. She wanted nothing more to give herself to him completely but she couldn't not while they were in danger and something could happen to her, it would only make its harder from him to move on.
"You're right. Alena I had no idea that you could do that, that you're insanely powerful, you're tiny and it's so unexpected." Daniel teased.
"I'll do it again if you don't stop being mean." She muttered half choking and half being serious as she sat herself down on the sofa opposite him and next to Dean who wrapped his arm casually around her shoulders.
"I'm scared," he pretended to shiver making her narrow her eyes at him, "what were you stressing about when we walked in anyway?"
"Tonight." She grumbled as she remembered how nervous she was feeling. She could feel the butterflies in her stomach going crazy as she thought about tonight and everything that could go wrong and how she would not only embarrass herself but Samuel and his family and probably hers as well.
"You'll do great." Dean said. He was always her voice of encourage and offering her support just as Daniel but Daniel was more of the one to tease her rather than Dean.
"What even happens?" She asked fearing the answer but she needed to know.
"Well my dad being the current Alpha will introduce both you and Sam and then Sam will introduce you as his mate and future Luna and the basically everyone crowds around you to introduce themselves. There will be tables full of food and drink as there will probably be music." Daniel shrugged.
"So it's a big deal?" She asked.
"Are you serious?" Daniel asked sitting up from where he had been lying down on the sofa to look at her as if she had grown two heads. "You're going to be our Luna when you and Sam do the dirty and my dad hand's in down to you both that means you will basically be out Alpha Female. It's a huge deal."
She had blushed when Daniel had mentioned her and Samuel doing the dirty. He was right through and she knew it, she had been stupid to think that it would be a casual event and she was going to be the packs Luna, she was going to be the Alpha Female and lead the pack with Samuel. She felt her shoulders sag with the pressure that she knew was going to be placed on her shoulders soon but she didn't think it would be so bad as Samuel would be at her side and he would help her, support her and care for her.
"Oh what is the pack doesn't like me?" She asked as she kneaded her forehead with her fingers tips.
"Pack's." Dean corrected making her head snap up so that she could look at him as he looked down at her.
"Packs?" She echoed with a gulp as she looked between Daniel and Dean who suddenly didn't so sure of themselves.
"Well you see my pack is also attending the gathering today to meet you." Dean said as he rubbed the back of his head.
Alena shot up from where she sat on the sofa to stare at both Daniel and Dean. She was sure she was as pale as a ghost and looked like a deer caught in a set of headlights. She had expected to be meeting one pack and the thought of meeting Dean's pack hadn't even crossed her mind. She was sure that she was about to pass out from both fear and nerves as she sat on the floor and put her head in her hands and focused on her breathing.
"Little, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Dean asked as she felt a large hand on her back while the presence of two people surrounding her.
"You don't understand! I'm no good in front of people let alone a crowd and being in front of two packs isn't going to happen." She hissed.
"It not going to be so bad and Sam will be right at your side and he will calm you down." Daniel spoke as someone began to rub there hand up and down her back in a soothing circular motion.
She was a little comforted by the idea that Samuel would be with her but that didn't calm her ragging emotions. She had many fears and one was crowds and being the centre of attention and having to face both of them at one time didn't seem possible to her.
"What's going on here?" Samuel suddenly demanded from behind them as all three of them jump as they spun around to see him stood in the door way with a tray in his hands filled with food and two cans of fizzy drinks.
"Alena's panicking about tonight, I think it's something you should deal with." Daniel said as she suddenly stood closely followed by Dean.
"See ya." Dean said as the two ducked out of the room leaving her and Samuel alone. She watched as he placed the tray on the bedside table before making his way over to where she still sat on the floor before her couched down and caressed her knee with one hand while touching her cheek with the other.
"What's wrong?" He asked, concern covering every inch of his sculpted face.
"You didn't tell me I would be meeting both packs." She watched as understand suddenly dawned on him as he sheepishly smiled at her.
"I know and I really am sorry it's just it happened so fast and I didn't want you to freak out or be mad at me." He admitted. She sighed as she leaned into his touch and closed her eyes. She couldn't stay mad at him and she knew that he hadn't told her because he was scared of how she would react which made sense.
"I'm warning you know that I'll probably face plant or embarrass you." She muttered while she opened her eyes to seem him grinning at her.
"Daniel warned me and I'm prepared to catch you, as I will always catch you." He was surprisingly serious as she blushed under the intensity of both his gaze and his words.
"Thanks." She whispered as she leant forward to kiss his jaw before pulling away. She was shy and she knew that Samuel knew it so whenever she openly displayed affection to Samuel she would always see this smile appear that would light up his entire face, it was a smile for her and only she and she loved it.
"We should probably start to get ready we have an hour and a half." Samuel was still smiling as he stood with ease and grace before he pulled her to her feet.
Alena sat in front of the dresser in the corner of Samuel's room as she began to pull her hair into a messy yet elegant bun similar to the bun she had when she went to the masked ball. She had curled the front of her hair so that when she loosened the bun and pulled a few strands free they were curly and shaped her face. Her make-up was light with a little bit of powder and blusher while she had a little bit of mascara on. She was currently applying red lipstick to her lips to add colour to her appearance.
She wore a black dress that had lace long sleeves that stopped at her wrists and lace across the top of her chest before the material took over, it hugged her chest and flared out at her navel and stopped just below mid-thigh. She completed her outfit with a pair of cream woolly tights.
Her eyes flicked in the mirror as Samuel appeared from the closet doing up the buttons on the front of the black shirt that was tucked into a pair of suit trousers. She couldn't help but stare at him as he finished doing up his shirt and ran a hair through his hair, messing up his blonde hair. She would never get over how attractive he was and how he made her feel just by making an appearance.
"You look beautiful." He said as she blushed realising that she had been caught starring.
"Thank you, you look beautiful." She smiled in the mirror and she finished applying the lipstick and rolled her lips into her mouth whilst standing and straightening out the front of her dress.
She hadn't known what to wear and so she had asked Samuel to choose a dress and he had chosen her favourite one. She wondered if he had known that it was her favourite of if he had just chosen it at random but something in his eyes when he had passed it to her told her that he somehow knew that it was her favourite.
"We should probably get going." He said as he stood from the bed where he had been doing up his shoelaces as she slipped into a pair of plan black dolly shoes.
"I'm so nervous." She whispered as she felt her stomach drop lower. Samuel must has sensed her unease as he came forward and wrapped his arm tightly around her waist whilst pulling her to his side.
"I'll be right next to you." He smiled down at her as they exited his bedroom and began to walk down the corridor. When they didn't turn of at the stairs a small frown made it was onto her face as she silently followed a little way behind him.
"The pack house has its own hall for occasions such as introducing a new pack member." Samuel informed her as they took a sharp left as she saw a staircase at the end.
"Do you accept many pack members?" She asked curiously.
"Normally we accept the mates of pack members and rarely do we allow rogues into the pack as normally they are lost to their wolves or untrustworthy." She nodded again as it did make sense.
"I understand." She knew that one day she would have to learn all of this so it was better now when there was little pressure than letter when she would be stressed.
"Ready?" Samuel asked as they began to descend the stairs together, his grip on her waist had tightened while her had balled the shirt material on his back into a small fist, if she was going to fall Samuel would be falling with her.
"Let's get this over with." She whispered.
As they continued to walk down the stairs she couldn't stop her eyes from widening when Samuel had said that the pack had its own ball room she hadn't expected it to be so grand and large, the room itself was elegant and nicely decorated while a huge crowd fell silent at the approach. She couldn't help the inevitable blush onto her face at being the centre of attention as she focused on keeping her breathing even and not tripping up over her own feet.
"I would like to introduce Samuel and Alena," Frank's loud voice boomed throughout the silent hall sending her heart racing in surprise, "if you would both like to come up here."
She saw that he was on what looked like a small stage with Marie at his side who was beaming from ear to ear, everyone was smartly dressed in suit and dresses. Samuel led them though the crowd that parted for them, she curiously looked at all of their faces and was relieved to see smiles on all of their faces. As they reached the end of the stage Samuel released his hold on her waist and grabbed her hand so that he could help her up the stairs before he reclaimed her waist as they walked towards his parents.
"As I said before, I'm sure all of you know Samuel, my eldest son and the future Alpha of the Crescent pack." Frank announced once again before he smiled and took a step make, motioning for Samuel and her to step forward.
Her heart was hammering against her rib cage as she slowly scanned the crowd to see Daniel and Dean both making funny faces at her which made her bit her tongue to stop herself from laughing but a soft smile made its way onto her face. She spotted her parents and the oracles with their husband in the centre of the crowd, encouraging smile on all of their faces. She also recognised a few faces from the masked ball that she had attended as well as school and she saw her head teacher amongst the crowd.
When the incident at school had happened she had been worried about what they would have to say to the school about the mess that was made but Samuel had reassured her that it was covered and then went on to explain how the head teacher was a werewolf and part of the pack. She was shocked when he told her that the majority of the teachers were also werewolves.
"Good evening," Samuel's voice travelled across the still silent hall. She knew that he was now longer the playful Samuel but Alpha Samuel who was addressing his pack, "I hope that you are all having a good time. For those of you that don't know, recently I have found my mate." She watched the crowds as Samuel spoke to see that no one looked surprised as she felt all eyes on her once again.
"I would like to welcome and introduce the newest member of the Crescent pack, my mate and your future Luna Alena brown." The pride was evident in Samuel voice as he introduced her into the entire pack; she blushed as she watched everyone slowly bow their heads in respect. She looked at Samuel who looked down at her with a huge smile on his face that had her smiling softly back.
She heard the members begin to clap as she slowly tore her eyes off of Samuel to smile at everyone, the dimples appearing on both of her cheeks while she beamed. Her earlier nerves were forgotten about as she looked at all the smile faces. She didn't know why she had worried so much as everyone was smile at which mean that they at least liked her on first appearances.
"Let's enjoy the rest of the evening." Samuel announced.
When Daniel had told her earlier that she and Samuel would be crowded with people who wanted to introduce themselves to her and Samuel she hadn't thought that he was serious and now she wished that she had believed him. As soon as they had stepped off of the stage and into the crowd they had been surrounded by people who introduced themselves and said what pack they were from. She was surprised at how many people were from both Samuel and Deans pack who she know knew was called the full moon pack, she liked how they all seemed to get along with one another and heard the banter going on between the two. Samuel had stayed at her side the entire night which she was thankful for and they were now stood by the many tables of food to get a drink each.
"Alena," he named was called through the crowd as both her and Samuel looked in that direction to see Dean waving them over as he stood with two they had yet to meet.
"Let's go." Samuel smiled at her before he wrapped his free arm around her waist and led them through the crowd that once against parted for them with smiles on the faces.
"Alena, I'd like you to meet my mum and dad." Dean said as he motioned between the two people he was stood with. Now that she was closer it was clear to see that they were related as he had his farther build but his mum's hair and eyes that softened his intimidating features.
"It's nice to finally put a face to the name. I'm John." His dad introduced himself with a huge grin on his face while he held his hand out for her to shake.
"It's nice to meet you Sir." She smiled politely as she shook his hand. A squeak left her mouth as she was pulled away from Samuel and into his arm as he hugged her tightly before letting her go, two hands steadied her shoulder as John laughed out loud.
"Excuse my husband he's just a pig. I'm Eleanor." Dean's mum smiled kindly as she two pulled her into a hug this one was gently and only around the shoulders as she relaxed.
"It's a pleasure to meet you both." She smiled at the pair once she was freed and safety back in Samuel's arms that had wrapped themselves possessively around her waist.
"We'll catch up later." Eleanor smiled before she pushed her husband away and Dean followed after them. She was once again left alone with Samuel who spun her around so that he would look at her.
"You're doing amazing," he complimented with a grin as he kissed her forehead.
"You really think so?" She asked hopefully.
"I know so. The pack link is filled with the buzz of meeting you, everyone adores you." He said with pride.
"I was so scared that they wouldn't." She admitted with a tired yawn. She knew that it was late and she had be stood on her feet for hours while she spoke with almost everyone in the room.
"Let's get you to bed." Samuel smiled softly at her.
"We can't, there's still loads of people here." She gestured around the hall at the still lively crowd.
"They'll understand. I've already told them that we will be retiring to our room and the wish us good night."
She didn't argue as they threw their plastic cups in the bin and left the hall, a she members had stopped them and wished them a good night to which she had smiled, thanked them and wished the same. She had found it easier as time went on to talk to everyone that stopped her. They climbed the stairs that they had walked down earlier and walked across the landing and to Samuel's room which was on the top floor.
"You can use the bathroom and I'll change out here." Samuel kissed her head before realised her.
She had already laid out her night clothes on his bed which she grabbed before making her way to the bathroom where she changed and removed her make up before brushing her teeth and using the bathroom. Her night clothes consisted of a pair of short shorts and a clean top of Samuel's that he had insisted she wear when they had been unpacking.
Samuel was already in bed once she left the bathroom, the duvet pulled up to his hips as his bare chest was exposed and on full view to her. She had folded her party clothes folded in her hands and left them on the corner of the dresser before heading over to the bed. Samuel pulled back the covers for her and she slipped in, the duvet had even been pulled around her before had had wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her to his side.
"Samuel I love you." The words were loud and clear in the silent room.
"What was that?" He asked as he was suddenly on top of her straddling her hips as he cupped her face gently with both of his hands.
"I love you." She spoke again, she had expected to blush but when it didn't appear she smiled softly up at Samuel as his chocolate eyes brightened.
"Do you mean that?"
"With everything I have."
She had just finished when Samuel's soft lips found their way on to hers as she closed her eyes and surrendered herself to the kiss and Samuel. She wrapped her arms around his neck and wound her fingers through his hair tugging on them lightly drawing a moan from Samuel as his chest vibrated against hers; his hands were on her face pulling her towards him. She opened her mouth when she felt Samuel gently lick her bottom lip for entrance as they battled for dominance which he won. Her heart was soaring through her chest while butterflies gathered in her stomach as the usual desire and lust consumed her. Samuel had been the only person to ever bring out these feelings within her and she knew that no one else could.
She pulled away when she could no longer breathe as she felt Samuel rest his forehead against hers. She opened her eyes to see that Samuel was staring at her, his eyes glazed over with an emotion she could only describe as love. The look in his eyes settled every argument within her that she had ever had about Samuel, and she knew that she wanted to be his forever, in every possible way in her world, the human world and his world.
"Claim me."
AN:// Hi beautifuls. School starts tomorrow and I know you all know what that means. I'm not saying that I'll stop updating as updates should occur like normal every Sunday but if I do have trouble then you'll know why as I feel I owe you guys a reason because you're all so lovely.:-)
1- I have exams coming up until the 5th of June which means that I am literally swimming in revision and school work. I do have all of my exams but one before the May half term which is in six weeks, so updates should be back to normal then if they do go wrong.
2- I also have a boyfriend that I need to balance spending time with as well as school work and revision and updates.
3- The next few chapters aren't going to be the best or the most exciting because soon the fight that I know most of you have been waiting for will happen and I want those chapter to be really good and exciting for you all and if I update those chapters during my exams I'm worried they won't be so good. I have three exams, three day in a row in one week at the end of May before half term and so that should be when the first chapter of the fight will be.
And that's the story of my life.. I'm not even sure if any of that makes sense but if you have a questions just post it below or inbox me. Thank you all so much for your support, reading it, voting and commenting. :-D
