Chapter Twenty Five.
Chapter Twenty Five.
Alena suddenly didn't feel as confident as she had felt a few moments ago when she had boldly asked Samuel to claim her. She was from where she lay still underneath his face froze on an expression she could only identify as surprise his entire being had frozen on top of her. His hands that had somehow travelled underneath the shirt she wore and now rested on her waist were frozen.
She felt stupid and she probably looked stupid as well. She didn't know if it was too soon for her to ask or if he didn't want to claim her. She felt her heart begin to shatter and break with every passing second at the thought of Samuel, her mate not wanting to claim her and be with her forever .She knew that she was no blonde haired beauty with big boobs and a skinny figure, she was curvy and had muscles surrounded her bones as well as being a small height.
She knew that Samuel had been with other women, they may not have meant anything to him but she knew that he had needs and she was beginning to realise that no matter how much the bond between them grew she wouldn't be able to satisfy him. The harsh truth of the situation hit her in the face like a tonne of bricks being thrown at her one after the other whilst her heart was ripped out of her chest and crushed it with no mercy.
Samuel didn't want her; he didn't find her attractive or satisfying in the slightest. She felt foolish for believing that he actual wanted her and knew that if it was for the mate bond forcing him to be with her he would had said goodbye to her a long time ago. She had stupidly allowed herself to fall in love with him and she doubted she would ever be able to fall out of love with him. She had no one to blame but herself for her reckless actions and now she had to suffer the outcome of rejection.
She released the tight hold she had on his hair and allowed her hands to fall at her side while she closed her eyes tightly, wishing with everything she had that she could disappear into the springs of the mattress and never to appear again. She wasn't sucked into to the mattress like she hoped and rather she had to face the humiliation of being rejected as Samuel continued to straddle her hips.
"Alena? What's wrong?" Samuel asked his voice thick with worry as she shook her head from side to side, for once she hated how his voice sounded and the effect he had on her and her body when her name rolled easily off of his tongue.
"Tell me please." His voice was a desperate plea from above her, a please that she didn't have the strength to resist as she opened her eyes and allowed the tears to roll down her cheeks. Samuel expression turned from one of confusion and worry to pain as his hands that cupped her cheeks began to hold her face gently while the pad of his thumbs rubbed the area under her eyes wiping away her salty tears.
She didn't understand why he was being so kind, gently and concerned if he didn't want her. She didn't know why he enjoyed playing with her feelings and getting inside her head, she was confusion and even more embarrassed that she had been moments ago as she breathed in a staggered breath.
"You don't want me." Her voice was barely above a whispered as her small hands balled into tight fists and pushed against his chest as she tried with all she had to push him off of her hips. She thought about using her magic but knew that that was a step to far, he had never used his wolf against her and she wasn't about to use her magic against him, no matter how much she wanted to.
"What?!" Samuel's voice was filled with nothing by surprise, as she looked up at him through her wet eyelashes.
"You don't want to claim me." She knew she sounded pathetic and weak and she probably looked it from where she lay shaking underneath him but her body wouldn't allow her to calm down as her emotions spiralled out of control.
Samuel continued to stare at her in disbelief as his mouth opened and closed as if he couldn't speak the words her wanted to. She watched a little fearful as her eyes flashed between there normal chocolate pools and dark pools. She knew that he was struggling against the hold her had on his wolf and although she knew that he would never hurt her intentionally she didn't know if he would be able to control himself if he was provoked too much.
"Alena?" Samuel asked after a moment of silence between them both.
"I understand." She whispered as she began to squirm underneath him desperately trying to free herself from him. She couldn't think straight when his scent wrapped around her tightly making it the only thing she could smell, her skin was alive and on fire from his touch while her eyes were held captive by the two pools of chocolate that swam with so many different emotions above her.
"Alena, stop." Samuel spoke slowly down at her but the command was clear in his voice and she stopped squirming underneath him immediately. She knew that her face was flushed and her cheeks were stained with her salty tears.
"What?" She whispered in a small voice.
"What are you talking about? Why are you crying?" He asked, his hold tightened the slightest bit on her face.
"Why did you hesitate?" She asked unable to keep the hurt out of her voice.
"Oh," he said as if he now understood what had gotten her in such a state. She furrowed her eyebrow in confusion as she stared up at him, her blues eyes widening a little as hope clouded her vision, "I want to claim you so badly that my teeth are aching in my gums with the need to claim you." He buried his face in her neck and ran his nose from just below her ear to her shoulder pulling back the shirt she wore with his nose so that her shoulder was on full display to him, her creamy skin teasing him more.
"Then why?" She gasped out loud as he nipped gently at her delicate skin on her shoulder before he soothed it by placing open mouthed kisses over the area.
She was confused, he had said that he wanted to claim her and yet he had hesitated went she had uttered the words. She wanted him to claim her, she wanted to belong to him and for everyone to know that he belonged to her in one way or another. She wanted to be connected to him on another level that than the one they were on now, if they couldn't complete the process because of the upcoming war.
She loved Samuel more than she did anyone else and so she wanted to let Samuel know just how much she loved him. She wanted to be connected to Samuel in both her world and his and she knew that in order for them to be together in his he had to claim her and then mark her whilst they mated, the thought made her shiver and she knew she wasn't ready for that just yet but she had been ready for him to claim her for so long.
"I didn't expect you to ask me to claim you and I want you to be ready. If I claim you that doesn't mean that your just mine but you are also part of the pack more so than you already are, you will be one step closer to be becoming my Luna as well as the packs. I want you to be completely ready." He told her sincerely as he stroked her cheek with the pads of his thumbs.
"I wouldn't have said anything if I wasn't ready." She muttered as she gripped fistfuls of his hair as he nipped her shoulders once again before gently running his tongue along her burning skins before kissing it, once, twice and a third time.
She was sure that her heart was about to leap out of her chest and she wouldn't have been surprised if Samuel could feel it beating wildly against his as he continued his assault on her neck, nipping at her skin before smoothing it with kisses and his tongue.
She suddenly felt stupid because she had thought that he didn't want her. She had cried and made a fool out of herself because she had let her insecurities get the better of her but she couldn't help it. Samuel was gorgeous, not only did he had the looks but he had the personality to match he had been kind, sweet, funny and caring as well as loving the entire time that she had been around him, he was perfect and he was the perfect mate.
"Why did you cry?" He asked his hot breath fanning against the base of her neck making her shiver in delight as moaned softly, tilting her head back against the pillows exposing her neck completely at him as he began to kiss and suck on her neck, earning soft moans from her that she made no effort to hide. Her body felt hot and her face felt as if it was on fire from the intensity of her blush but she couldn't focus of her red face she could only focus on Samuel as his soft lips that were wreaking havoc on her neck and insides.
"Why?" He asked he softly again as he dress a few centimetres away from her neck.
"Because I thought you didn't want me." She gasped breathlessly.
He recoiled from her neck so that he was staring down at her face, his eyes taking in every feature of her flustered face and heaving chest as if he was studying her, trying to figure her out. He had the same expression her had earlier as if he didn't believe what she had said, as if he couldn't understand why she would say such a thing. He looked at her as if she was mystery that he was just dying to figure out and every time that he thought he was close she would surprise him and through him off track.
"Alena, you have no idea how much I want you. I want you so badly that I ache with need. You're beautiful, you're caring and you're kind. You have the cutest dimples I've ever seen and I adore your blush, I adore you and everything about you. Don't you ever, ever think that I don't want you because it's impossible for me to not want you, my beautiful little mate." He kissed the top of her nose.
"I love you." She mumbled as she tugged his face forward s that his forehead was resting against her own.
"I love you to." He grinned wickedly.
She had been about to ask him another question when he dipped his face to the base of her throat and began to place kisses all over her slender neck. She once again threw her head back allowing him complete access to her neck as she relished in the pleasurable sensations that were taking over her entire being as he once again nipped, sucked and soothed her neck with his mouth.
She felt his teeth graze against her skin where her shoulder and neck met, "do it."
"Are you sure?" He asked his voice was thick and husky from lust as he stayed where he was.
"Yes." She moaned as he sucked on her neck once again.
"This will hurt." He muttered.
She only nodded her head and she prepared herself for the pain that was sure to come. His head lifted so that he could place a soft kiss to her lips before his hands moved to her stomach and he placed more of his weight over her, it wasn't enough to hurt her only enough to be a little uncomfortable. She closed her eyes as he moved his lips back to her neck and placed a kiss where her shoulder and neck meet before his teeth grazed her flesh and sunk in, his teeth had elongated and turned into fangs that belonged to his wolf.
She cried out in pain and she squirmed against his hold, his hands had slide under his t-shirt that she wore and held her stomach gently to the mattress while the rest of her body held her down. She had expected pain but she hadn't expected the burning sensation that started as soon as his teeth had punctured her delicate skin. It was nothing like she had ever experienced as she continued to thrash against him, tears rolled endlessly down her cheeks as she felt blood from her wound trickle down her neck and on to her shirt and the pillow underneath her.
It was as if her neck was being punctured by tiny needles continuously as he continued to hold her still. She was surprised when she felt a tightening sensation in her stomach as if a knot was being created that was binding the two together. She wondered if it was another werewolf thing that she didn't know about and she was surprised at ache that came shortly after. She was limp underneath him now as she felt tired, the pain had decreased as soon as his teeth retracted from her neck and his tongue lapped at her wound.
"It's beautiful, you're beautiful." He marvelled as he pulled away so that he could admire his mark on her neck, his eyes glowed with admiration and loved as he placed as small kiss on her parted lips.
"I'm so tired." She yawned as he eyes dropped. Her neck hurt and the burning sensation she felt was slowly disappearing but her mind and body felt exhausted as Samuel rolled off of her and onto his side whilst pulled her against him, her head pillowed on his chest as he wrapped his arm tightly around her neck.
"Sleep." He whispered in her ear as he tucked a lose strand of hair behind her ear.
"Sleep." She repeated in an incoherent mumble as she snuggled herself closer to his warm body and he kissed her cheek.
*
Alena awoke to an uncomfortable ache in her stomach as it gurgled and growled with hunger, she rubbed her eyes to get rid of the remanding sleep and looked over her shoulder in the darkened room. Samuel lay beside her, his eyes closed and his lips slightly parted as he held her close to him with his warm arm around her waist.
She wanted so badly to stay in bed and all back asleep but the hunger she felt wouldn't go away.
She slowly pried Samuel's arm off of her middle and sat on the bed, her small hands clutching her forehead and neck as they ached from the sudden movement. Her fingers tips tracing her neck as she let out a small hiss of pain when they brushed against the raised and angry skin of the mark that showed everyone who she belong to. She was sure that it was still sore and bloody but she didn't care.
She pulled the covers away from her body and slowly stood from the bed, her legs wobbled and she briefly noted that the shirt she wore had been different from the one she had been wearing when she went to sleep, she blushed at the thought of Samuel changing her and seeing the flesh of her stomach and chest that was hidden behind a black lace bra that she could feel.
She slowly made her way over to the bedroom door; it took her longer than normal as her small legs felt fragile and stiff. She closed the door softly behind before making her way down the hall way, her small feet sinking into the carpet floor of the landing and the stairs as she descended gracefully on to the ground floor and made a beeline for the kitchen.
She switched on the lights and took a moment to marvel the kitchen as it suddenly came to life. She searched the cupboards and pulled out the ingredients for some toast and chocolate spread. She had stumbled across some hot chocolate powder and eagerly searched the rest of the cupboards to finds that they had whipped cream and marshmallows and a pack of chocolate flakes that had been hidden at the back of a cupboard. She would have normally felt rude and shy and raiding the cupboards of someone else house but the hunger she felt erased all of her rational thinking.
"I'll have one of those please." A voice spoke from behind her caused her to drop the knife she held in her hand on to the counter as she spun around with a surprised gasp escaping her lips. She had been so preoccupied with making her hot chocolate and toasted that she hadn't heard anyone approaching her.
She was surprised to see a boy or rather man that she hadn't seen before. She had thought that she had meet near enough everyone at the pack celebration the other night but she had obviously been wrong as she was sure she'd of remembered the red headed man with bright blue eyes standing in front of her. There was something around him that drew her in, it was a physical attraction but attraction that made her feel as if they understood each other on a level no one else could but she was sure that she had never meet him before.
"You scared me," she whispered as she laced her hand over her racing hear.
"I didn't mean to," he grinned revealing two dimples. There was something about him that made her think that they had meet before, his features were similar to someone she knew she just couldn't place a name to the face, "so, can I have one of those hot chocolates too?"
"Sure." She smiled shyly as she quickly turned and began to make him a hot chocolate identical to hers.
She heard him moving around behind her but she didn't look over her shoulder at him as she finished spreading the chocolate spread on her toast before grabbing the hot chocolates and turning around to see that he sat on a stool around the counter.
"Thanks." He grinned happily at her as she turned to grab her plate before taking the stool next to him.
"You're welcome." She smiled at him.
The room lapsed into silence after their small talk; the only sound that could be heard was the sound of her crunching on her toast and the slurps from the strangers beside her who seemed to be enjoying the hot chocolate that she had made for him.
"I'm Reece." He suddenly introduced himself as she looked at him to see him starring at her intently.
"I'm Alena." She smiled at him.
"I know, Luna." He smiled causing her to blush at the use of her title.
"It's just Alena," she nodded her head, "I didn't see you at the gathering."
"I wasn't there. I don't belong to either of the two packs." He told her after a moment of silence.
"You don't?" She asked, she was confused as to why he was here if he didn't belong to either of the packs. She felt fear freeze her in place as she thought about him being a rogue even if he didn't have the red eyes.
"Whoa, relax. I'm not going to hurt you." He frowned as if he sensed her fear.
"You're not a rogue?" She whispered still eyeing him suspiciously. Her hands tingled with need to protect herself using her magic. Reece's booming laughter startled her as she once again jumped and starred at him as if he had grown two heads.
"I'm not a rogue no." He shook his head as if the thought was completely ridiculous.
"Then what are you?" She asked. A blushed made its way onto her face as she realised how rude and up front she sounded, "I didn't mean it like that I meant it as if you don't belong to either pack and you're not a rogue and I was just wond-"
"I know what you meant," he cut her off with another laughed, "you know my parents Adaleigh and Mason."
She felt her eyes widen as she suddenly realised who he reminded her off. Reece has his mother's fiery red hair and blue eyes but his father's build; he was an exact replica of the two.
"I knew you were familiar." She exclaimed with a huge smile on her face.
"I'm surprised you didn't notice first of, the hair gives it away."
"It does," she grinned before she remembered what he had said about not belonging to either of the packs, did that mean that he belonged to the pack that his dad and uncle belonged to? "You said that you don't belong to either of the packs..."
"Nothing escapes from you little prophecy." He smiled knowingly. She would have blushed or looked away but the smile on his face told her that it was okay to be herself and who she was, the prophecy was a part of her and for the first time since finding out she felt at ease.
"So, which pack do you belong to?" She asked as she licked whipped cream off of her fingers with a grin.
"I don't." He simply said with a shrug of his broad shoulders.
"You don't?" She frowned.
"I'm different from other werewolves." He sighed as if he knew what she was about to ask next.
"Different how?"
"My mum's a witch, a powerful oracle and my dad's a werewolf." He stated as if that made sense. She thought if over for a few seconds before understanding dawned on her and she realised what he was say, he was different before of he was half a witch and half a werewolf.
"That's so cool." She grinned, suppressing a squeal.
"I know I'm a freak." He sighed. "Wait! What?!"
He starred at her with his mouth opening and closing while his blue eyes were wide, she couldn't help but giggle at the expression he was making. She felt sorry for Reece as she realised that it must be hard for him as he was not only half a werewolf but a witch to, and the others that knew about him but have out casted him and treated him like the freak he thought he was.
"It's pretty cool." She grinned.
"What?" He asked again dumfounded as she giggled.
"Cool," she said in a duh tone, "I mean were sort of similar, your half witch and so am I and I'm half of something else and so are you. We're basically meant to be best friends." She said boldly. She felt completely at ease in his presence and now that she knew they shared something similar she could feel herself coming out of her shell almost completely.
"I guess your right in a way." He smiled seeming happy.
"Welcome to the club." She grinned as she held out her hand.
"Club?" He asked confused as he took her hand in his.
"The Halfling club."
