Chapter Five.

"You cannot be serious?" Alena had to move the phone away from ear as she cringed at her friend's high pitched squeal. As soon as Alena had gotten home and eaten dinner with her parents she had gone to her room so that she could tell Lucy all about her encounter with Daniel's incredibly attractive older brother in the coffee shop.

"Yes I'm serious." Alena said with a roll of her eyes as she lay on her stomach on her bed trying to read the book like she had when she was in the coffee shop early today, but just like before Alena couldn't get her mind off of Samuel, even thinking his name has excitement bubbling within her stomach.

"Describe to me one more time what he looks like." Lucy sighed dreamily into the phone whilst Alena suppressed a groan. Lucy was always the one who had an eye for good looking men and it was obvious that Samuel was the most attractive man she had ever seen, but the interest Lucy was taking in him had something stirring deep down within her, it was almost possessive as if Samuel was hers and no one else, the strange feelings and thoughts were messing with Alena's usual clean head.

"Luce," she sighed into the phone as she rubbed her forehead with her free hand. "I've told you about four times already." She stated with another sigh into the phone.

"But he sounds like a dream." Lucy whined like a child into the phone, Alena could just imagine Lucy pouting whilst folding her arms angrily over her chest and her foot twitching to stamp angrily on the ground, the image instantly brighten Alena's confused mood as she grinned into the phone.

"He is." Alena shook her head in agreement not even caring if Lucy couldn't see her.

"Anyway Ana I've got to go, mum's calling me about not tiding up after my mess or something or another." Lucy groaned into the phone whilst Alena chuckled knowing just how untidy Lucy could be and that was on a good day.

"Say hi to your mum for me." Alena said into the phone as she folded the corner of her page and shut the book closed before placing it on her bedside table.

"Sometimes I think she likes you more than me." Lucy mumbled into the phone.

"Let's face it well all know that she does." She teased back as she began to climb under the covers.

"Maybe we should swap." Lucy suggested excitedly whilst Alena had no doubt that her best friend was completely serious.

"Sorry but you're not the one with the magic fingers." Alena sighed tiredly as she sank deeper into her mattress.

"Ah yes magic fingers." Lucy teased as Alena could hear the smile her voice.

"Bye Lu." Alena yawned at the end.

"Bye Ana, let me know if anything happens with sexy pants." Alena shook her head at her friend's nickname for the man she had just meet only a couple of hours ago. Alena hung up on her friend and plugged her phone on charge before turning her bedside light off and placing her head on the pillow whilst closing her eyes. Alena knew her dream would be featuring Samuel in all his god-like glory.

When Alena woke the next morning her body seemed to double in temperature as light coat of sweat covering her body even though her room itself was freezing. Alena's dreams had been so vivid, so real and the worst part was that Alena had wanted them to be real; she wanted to feel Samuel's muscular arms wrapped around her naked body while he trailed kisses along her jawline and to her mouth. She had never had a dream like the one she had had last night, no boy or man had caught her attention enough to feature so vividly in her dreams until now. With a shake of her head Alena rose from her bed and hurried to her bathroom in desperate need of a shower to cool her heated body as well as washing away the effects of last night's dream.

"Good morning sweetie." Her mother smiled happily as she glided around the kitchen, tidying as she went whilst Alena's dad sat at the table with the paper in front of him, his usual work suit swopped for casual jeans and a jumper.

"Hi mum, dad." Alena said as she grabbed a piece of toast and bit into it whilst she tried to put on the fluffy sock she wore. She was in a hurry to get to the library and if she didn't hurry up she would miss her bus and have to wait another hour or so for the next one to take her into town.

"In a hurry?" Her dad asked, he knew where Alena was going, she went to library every Sunday to see what Miss Barns the head librarian had new in as well as spending most of her day reading in the corner away from everyone.

"I can't wait till I can drive." She groaned as she left the kitchen and into the hallway where she hoped from one foot to the other putting on her boots.

"Bye honey." Her dad called from the kitchen the grin evident in his teasing voice as Alena rolled her eyes.

"Bye mum, bye dad." She called out as she opened the front door and slung her bag over her shoulder.

"Bye." Her mum called out as she shut the door and walked quickly to the bus stop at the end of the road to see that the bus was just pulling up as she sighed in relief and pulled the bus pass out of her purse and showed it to the female driver who smiled and nodded her on. Alena sat near the back and close to the window whilst her put in her head phones and watched as they began to leave the countryside and head towards the local town.

The bus journey didn't take too long as the bus came to a halt at the side of the town hall that was opposite the library. Alena hurried down the aisle and off the bus quickly noticing the impatient looks of the other passengers that looked in a hurry to be somewhere.

"Hey Miss Barns." Alena spoke in a small voice as she took out her head phones so that she could have a conversation with the middle aged librarian that smiled up at her.

"Hey Alena dear, how are you this week?" Miss Barns to spoke in a small voice as she began to search the trolley behind her.

"I'm fine thank you, schools the same, you?" Alena asked as she leant against the counter keen to see the new books that Miss Barns had prepared for her.

"That's good to hear, busy as usual." Miss Barns turned with a smile on her face as she handed Alena the stack of three books.

"Thanks Miss B." Alena smiled warmly at her before she turned and walked slowly through the tall shelves stacked full of books. Alena loved everything about the library, the smell of old books, how everything was kept in order as well as the calm feeling that washed over her whenever she walked through the double doors of the elegant building. Alena headed towards the back left corner of the huge rooms where a table sat surrounded by four chairs, she placed her bag in the seat next to her while she shrugged off her coat and hung it on the back of the chair before sitting down with a satisfied sigh escaping her lips.

Alena didn't know that someone had sat down in front of her until the person cleared their throat causing her to look up from where she had been so engrossed in her reading the book. Alena's breath caught in her throat as a furious blush coated her cheeks as images of last night's dream appeared in her minds as she looked past Samuel unable to look him in the eye after last night.

"Hey Alena." Samuel said in a small voice, his voice deeper than usual as a shiver ran up Alena's spin at the sound of her name coming from his mouth.

"Hey Samuel." She squeaked, causing her blush to intensify, Alena was sure that any minute now her cheeks would be on fire from embarrassment.

"Do you come here often?" Alena could hear the curiosity in his voice as she shrugged and looked the closet book shelf as if it was the most interesting thing she had ever seen.

"Every Sunday," She admitted shyly.

"Me to," Samuel said sounding surprised as Alena's eyes snapped to his as she found herself once again lost in the two chocolate pools that starred back at her. "I haven't seen you before, how strange." he mused.

"I always hide away here." Alena smiled shyly, still feeling a little flustered after seeing him here but still just as excited by his presence as she had been yesterday afternoon, it was as if she didn't know something was missing until he was around her, he was what she was missing and her body came alive when he was around, the conclusion of her thoughts was startling.

"I don't blame you, it's a nice spot." Samuel smiled back at her, it was only now that she noticed the small dimple that appeared on his right cheek whenever he smiled to the side like he was now, Alena internally savoured the moment and pleasure it caused.

"You read?" She asked as she nodded her head towards the book he had placed on the desk, it remained unopened but Alena could see the corner of a page turned.

"It's a guilty pleasure of mine." He admitted sheepishly.

"Your secrets safe with me." She teased with a smile on her face.

"Come with me." Samuel suddenly stood up as he tucked the book under his arm and held out his hand for her to take. Alena was shocked by his behaviour but she was afraid, she knew that he would never hurt her, she didn't know how or why but she knew for sure that she was safe with him. Alena put the book she was reading back on the untouched pile that Miss Burns had given her as she slowly put her coat on before grabbing her bag and pulling it over your shoulder.

"Where?" Alena asked as she gathered the book under one arm before stopping to look at Samuel. Alena was always to curious for her own good as she allowed curiosity to get the better of her as she already knew she was going to with him.

"You'll see." He smiled shyly as he grabbed her hand and began to pull her back threw the library. Alena gasped under her breath as she felt the tingling sensation of her skin where it came into contact with Samuel, it wasn't annoying it was the opposite. She looked up at Samuel to see if he had felt them to, if he had he didn't allow it show on her face as he stopped so that Alena could place the book on the counter in front of Miss Burns who looked at her worriedly.

"I'll see you next week Miss B." Alena smiled warmly at her hoping it would calm her worries as she her nod and busy herself with the book she had just given back.

"Climb in." Samuel released her hand as he motion to the passenger side door of the black car they had just stopped in front of. Alena hesitantly began to climb inside, she knew all about stranger danger and she wasn't stupid, she could easily call her mother through the bond they shared because if their witch inheritance, it allowed Alena and her mother to communicate through feelings when either of them wanted the other to know how the felt, Alena could easily send her feelings if it was needed to her mother who would be able to find her with a matter of seconds. But to make sure Alena quickly got out her phone a texted her mum to tell her that she was hanging out with a friend whilst she texted Lucy saying she was with sexy pants knowing Lucy would know who it was if anything happened to her. Alena ignored both of their replies as she settled into the leather seat and allowed herself to relax as she watched the town go by out the window.

"We're there." Samuel said as he stopped the car, it hadn't taken them long to get to where ever they were as Alena climbed out of the car and began to make her way forward. They had pulled up against the side of a dirt track that lead to what Alena guessed was the local moors.

"The moors?" Alena asked as she faced Samuel with her eyebrows raised.

"Patience little one, we're not there, there yet." He smiled as he took her hand and began to pull her up the dirt track and helped her over the gate at the end.

The moors were covered in greenery and moss as well as huge rocks and wild animals. The air was cold as she pulled her coat further around her and walked closer to Samuel who seemed to radiate warmth. Alena found herself slipping a few times and stumbling over the uneven ground, every time Samuel would catch her and ask her if she was okay whilst scanning her body for any sort of injuries.

"Now we're here." Samuel smiled as they stood on top of the hill. Alena was a little out of breath as she breathed in deeply while turned around the see why he had brought her here. The sight before her was beautiful; from where they stood Alena could see the little town she lived in and the towns surrounding it as well as the number of fields and houses, everything looked so small but equally as beautiful.

"It's beautiful." She breathed as she sat on a rock close by, Samuel murmured his agreement as he walked and sat behind her.

"This where I like to come to read." He admitted and Alena know knew why he had brought her here and it wasn't just for the beautiful view.

"I can see why." Alena said as she smiled warmly at him, for some reason she found her wonder how many other girls he had brought up here.

"My brother is the only one that knows I like to come here." Samuel mumbled as if he could read her mind.

"Are you close?" She asked as she scooted closer to him, happy when she felt herself instantly become warmer, he seemed to know what she was doing as she moved so that he now sat next to her with her knees touched the side of his leg while she faced him.

"Yes, I guess we are." He smiled warmly at her whilst she felt her heart flutter at the sight.

Alena spent the rest of her day sat on top of the moors with Samuel who told her more about himself than he had yesterday, she felt herself growing more and more comfortable in his presence and often found herself pressing her knees closer to his leg. She smiled and laughed as well as blushed like a school girl with a crush on her teacher who knew when she was around him, she was confused but excited as well as many other things where she was around him but she couldn't find it in herself to care.

"Will I see you soon?" Samuel asked as Alena poked her head through the open passenger door to see him looking at her intently. She debated for a moment before she opened her bag and pulled out and old recite a pen before scribbling her name and number on the back and handing it to him.

"It has my number on it so yeah." She blushed unsure of what she should say or do in this sort of situation, she felt embarrassed for being so bold and giving her number out to a man she had only meet a day ago who was probably playing her but in the back of her mind something was telling her that he wouldn't do that, that he couldn't hurt her but she brushed it off, she was probably reading too much into things.

"I'll give you a call or text." He beamed at her showing of his one cheeked dimple as Alena smiled back and shut the door before heading around the back and towards her house.

"Oh and Alena?" Samuel called out as she looked over her shoulder to see him sticking his head out his now opened window. "I had fun today." He smiled once again causing Alena to blush. He thought she was fun? Alena had been called a lot of things but fun wasn't the first word that was used to describe her.

"Me too." She squeaked before turning and heading back into her house as she resisted the urge to look back. She knew he was watching her; she could feel his eyes on her as she opened her front door and closed it behind her. Alena's parents were in the living room as Alena kicked off her shoes and ran upstairs to her room where she dropped her bag and threw herself face down on her bed and screamed into her pillow. Her heart still beat wildly after today, he cheeks flushed and her skin tingling from where it had touched his and her body seemed to glow with warmth that had radiated from his body.

What a day, she thought with a sigh.
