Chapter 16
She made a face. "Not gonna happen, Chambers."
"We'll see about that." He smirked, running a tongue across his bottom lip. Giving her a provoking look, he walked past her and up to the counter. Ignoring her previous objections, he continued walking as she quickly hurried towards him, following closely behind.
"I'm never even going to wear that!" She seethed, hoping to stop him without having to cause a scene. She struggled to catch up with his long strides, as he made it closer and closer to the counter. They'd even caught the attention of customers nearby from the commotion they were causing. He snorted, ignoring her. "Elio!" She hissed out his name, growing impatient. As she reached for the piece of lingerie, he quickly yanked it out of her grasp.
"That's not even my size!" She hissed out.
He paused in his steps, turning his head towards her. He slowly turned around, holding the piece of lingerie up next to her to compare it with her body. He cocked his head to the side, doubtful. "What is your size, then?"
She pressed her lips together, hesitant. "Well, I'm not sure. I'd have to try it on first." She replied, hoping he wouldn't realize that she was stalling. She knew her size. Every girl did.
His expression remained impassive as he thought for a moment. "Alright let's go." He suddenly said before he turned to head towards the dressing rooms.
Cursing silently beneath her breath, hoping that he wouldn't seriously buy it once she'd tried it on. She quickly caught up to him as he walked up to the lady by the entrance of the dressing rooms.
"Hey, can I get a dressing room?" She heard him ask the lady. The lady's face immediately lit up, smiling as she nodded.
"Yeah of course! Just that item?" She gestured to the lingerie piece in his hand. The lady raised a questioning brow before she noticed that Thea had walked up from behind him. Elio flashed the lady a smile, nodding.
"Follow me." She said, giving Thea a brief look before she led them down the hallway. The lady unlocked the door, allowing Thea in before she walked off.
Grabbing the lingerie from Elio's hand, Thea immediately closed the dressing room door behind her. Knowing him, he would've tried to come in and watch her as she undressed. He chuckled quietly to himself from the other side of the door before taking a step back.
Thea turned around, looking at herself in the mirror. Letting out a slow breath, she tugged off her shirt. She then proceeded to unbuckle her pants, pulling them down and stepping out of them. Picking up the flimsy material, she attempted to figure out how her body would fit inside. After a couple of moments, she finally distinguished the straps from the slip dress and pulled them over her head. Slipping her arms through the holes, she pulled it down, adjusting it around her curves.
Looking at herself in the mirror, her eyes widened at how well fit around her body. Although it covered next to nothing, it brought out her every curve, making her seem much more voluptuous. An approving smile spread on her lips.
She heard shuffling behind the door before a pair of feet appeared from below the dressing room door, followed by a knock.
"Did you put it on yet?" Elio asked.
"Yeah." She replied, still checking herself out in the mirror. Suddenly, the door opened from behind her and Elio slipped in.
"What the hell?!" She hissed out, immediately covering her body with her arms but to no avail. She swore she had locked the door.
Completely disregarding her reaction, he moved to peel her arms away from her body. Her arms dropped to her side in defeat, scowling as Elio began to check her out. He raised both his brows, clearly impressed as a look of approval spread across his face.
"Hot damn," he uttered, his eyes settling on her breasts. His fingers twitched, aching to feel them inside the palms of his hands but he somehow managed to restrain himself.
"Leave before I scream for a worker." She warned him as she narrowed her eyes, hoping to come off as intimidating but he merely laughed at her futile attempt at getting him out.
"Is that a threat, cookie?" He asked, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. She resisted the urge to bite his hand.
"You don't think I would do it?" She placed her hands on her hips, ready to prove him wrong. There was nothing she liked more than taking on a simple challenge that she knew that she would win.
"You wouldn't." He spoke, almost too confidently. She opened her mouth to call out but immediately, his hand clamped down on her mouth, smothering any sound that came out of her lips. She made a sound, her hands immediately grabbing his wrist, attempting to pull it away but it was useless. He smirked before he grabbed her waist with his free hand, spinning her around.
"Let me go." She forced out the words despite his hand clamped down on her lips. Her voice was muffled as she struggled against his grasp but it was no use. He was too strong. How unfair.
"I'll let go if you promise you won't scream." He uttered, amusement filling his eyes as he pressed her body onto his, her ass pressing firmly onto his crotch area.
She narrowed her eyes, clearly ticked off, but she knew she had no other choice. Reluctantly, she nodded and his hand dropped down away from her. Glaring at him, she quickly realized that his gaze had dropped away from her eyes, too preoccupied with staring at another part of her body to notice. Instead, his eyes were trained on the mirror, watching the reflection of her breasts that the practically transparent lingerie provided little covering to.
"You have the hormones of a teenage boy." She quipped, crossing her arms over her breasts before he finally looked up and met her gaze through the mirror.
He snorted. "I was much hornier in my teenage years."
"One can only imagine." She replied sarcastically. In all her years, she'd never met someone as sexual as he was. She'd counselled teenage boys that wouldn't even come close to Elio's sex drive, which made her question how many people he'd slept with since he met her.
Before she had noticed, he had leaned down, his breath fanning against her neck as his hands rested on her hips. She froze, too shocked to stop him. Her pulse had quickened and grew erratic as heat began to creep up her neck. She felt goosebumps rising where his skin made contact with hers through the thin material of the dress. His lips made contact with her skin, gently sucking on her neck. A wave of pleasure shot to her core and she couldn't help but let out a low moan.
His warm hands ran up her thighs, up to her hips. His fingers fumbled with the rim of the material, sliding it up her body. Whatever possessed her body at the time caused her to tilt her head to the side, giving him better access as he sucked on the sensitive part of her neck. His other hand grabbed a hold of her hand, giving a light squeeze as she breathed heavily, trying her best to keep silent. She was so uncomfortably hot between her legs and he was making it worse.
She wanted to stop him but her body wasn't budging and it was as if she was underneath his spell. What was it about him that made him so irresistible?
Finally, he pulled away, meeting her heated gaze through the mirror. Everything he did seemed to seduce her, whether it was intentional or not. From the narrowing of his suggestive eyes to the arrogant quirk of his jaw, Thea found her self-restraint slowly slipping out of her grasp. She was usually great at controlling herself compared to the majority of her peers but this man...
He woke up certain parts of her none of her previous sexual partners or lovers were even able to come close to and although she chose to resist,
She stared at the both of them in the large mirror of the fitting room before them. She shuddered as she felt his fingers sliding up her inner thighs. Lowering his head once again, he ran his nose down the column of her neck. Her breathing became ragged as his fingers slid higher up her thighs, sending pleasurable shocks to her quivering pussy. She let out a calm sigh, the intoxicating scent of his cologne filling her nostrils.
She couldn't help the sound that escaped her lips when the man forced a muscular leg between her thighs, pressing against her throbbing heat. She rubbed himself on his leg, hoping to create some sort of friction to help ease the ache between her legs. Looking in the mirror before him, she watched as his large hands slowly slid up her arms to her shoulders. His knee pressed harder against her throbbing core that was growing wetter by the second as she grinded on him.
His hands then trailed up from beneath the dress to her ass, squeezing it, easing a soft groan from her lips.
"Elio..." she forced out, trying not to moan as she grew aware of what was about to happen.
"Hm?" He grunted in response, his face still buried deep in her neck.
He slowly moved his knee, rubbing against the soaking fabric of her panties and she clenched her thighs around his, struggling to find words to say. A panting mess, she rubbed herself against his thigh wanting more.
"Patience, sweetheart." He uttered the words into her ear. She shivered, his hot breath sending a shiver down her spine. She opened her mouth but no words came out.
"Use your words, come on." He whispered huskily into her ears almost as if it was an attempt to calm her nerves but instead it did quite the opposite.
"Not here." She rasped out, squirming at the scorching heat between her thighs. Almost immediately after she had said the words, he took a step back, his hands leaving her. A wave of disappointment washed through her but she knew they couldn't continue what they were doing. Not in a fitting room.
"So are you buying the dress?" He asked, shoving his hands into the pockets of his pants, giving her an innocent look, almost as if the past couple of minutes hadn't happened.
Thea glanced at him in the mirror before looking at the skimpy piece of clothing on her body. Running a hand down her body, she admired the fabric. It brought out her curves and made her seem much more... mature. Except it wasn't something she would ever wear. Not even to impress her future lover.
"No." She replied. She wasn't even sure why they had wandered into Victoria's Secret when they were looking for a dress for a formal event, not a sex party.
He raised a brow and it seemed like he was going to object but he was interrupted by a sudden knock on their dressing room door. They both froze, their eyes meeting each other through the mirror.
"There can only be one person in the dressing room!" A chirpy female voice called out. Thea's eyes widened in shock as Elio snorted, chuckling to himself.
"I'll be right out." He responded before the worker walked away.
"Alright, I'll meet you at the front when you're done changing." He told Thea before exiting the fitting room, silently closing the door behind him.
Thea waited for a moment, looking at herself one last time through the mirror before she finally began taking off the dress. Carefully slipping out of it, she put the lingerie back on the hanger and began changing back into her regular clothes. After straightening her clothes and fixing her hair, she exited the dressing room with the lingerie in hand.
"All done?" The same worker asked as she stepped out.
"Yeah," Thea replied, smiling, to hide the guilty look on her face as she hung the slip dress on the clothes rack. There was no doubt that the lady had probably heard everything that was going on in the fitting room.
She walked out of the dressing room area to find Elio but he was nowhere to be seen. She walked around the store, hoping to find him. Just when she was going to give up and leave, she felt a tap on her shoulder.
"Looking for me?" A familiar deep voice from behind her said. She turned around to face Elio. He smiled cheekily before he held up the Victoria's Secret bag in his hand. Thea narrowed her eyes at the bag before meeting his eyes.
"What did you buy?" She asked slowly, hoping that he hadn't done what she suspected he had done. He pulled out the black material from the bag and she immediately frowned. He had gone out and got the same dress that she had tried on.
"I thought we were buying an actual dress, not lingerie." She remarked, eyeing the lingerie piece.
"Consider it a late Valentine's Day present. Even Diego managed to give you one so this is my gift to you." He began putting the lingerie back in the bag. She didn't even bother asking how much it had cost, knowing it probably cost a hefty sum of money.
"We're not dating." She mentioned, crossing her arms.
"Never said we were." He shrugged.
"If I ever wear that, it's not going to be for you; it's gonna be for another man."
He faked a pained look, clutching his heart. "You hurt me, cookie." What a child.
"Aww, do you want a kiss on the forehead to make you feel better?" She replied sarcastically. He opened his mouth to speak but was cut off.
"Newlyweds?" A middle-aged woman suddenly asked. They both turned their heads to the lady who had cut into their conversation. Just when Thea was going to shut her down, Elio cut in before she was able to get a word in.
"Yeah," He chuckled. "My wife gets too excited sometimes." Wife? He reached his hand up to Thea's head and patted her like she was a dog. She held back a scowl as he gave her a short glance, almost as if to tell her to behave. Good girl. Good girl.
The middle-aged woman laughed. "Still in the honeymoon phase, I see."
"Yeah, you get the deal." Elio began rubbing her head now. Thea pressed her lips together, forcing a smile.
"Alright, I'll leave you two be." The woman laughed before she walked off. As soon as she was out of view, Thea pried his hand off of her head.
"Never call me your wife again." She grumbled out from beneath her breath.
"Don't make me get on my knee and propose." He warned her. She immediately turned to look at him, eyes widening. He wouldn't.
He smirked, brushing off his pants, getting ready to get on one knee. Before he could actually do it, she walked out of the store as fast as she humanly could without drawing any attention. She heard a loud laugh come from Elio who soon caught up to her.
"Aww, don't get upset, cookie. It was just a joke." He reassured, almost as if it was supposed to provide some kind of comfort.
She didn't respond this time, uneager to amuse him any further. She picked up the pace, walking towards the exit to the mall.
"The silent treatment? How mature of you." He quipped. She held back whatever witty remark she wanted to say. He was trying to get a reaction out of her and she wasn't going to give him the satisfaction. He let out a groan of frustration when she continued to remain silent.
"We're both reasonable adults. We can talk it out or... " He paused for a moment. She noticed the same ridiculous smirk tugging on his lips from the side of her eye. "... we can fuck it out."
"Oh my god, you are such a pervert." She finally let out.
"I think that's the longest time you've been completely silent. What was that? 30 seconds? Less?" He laughed. She gave him a look, warning him as her hand twitched, resisting the urge to grab his balls and crush them in her hands, obliterating any of his chances of having biological kids.
"We still need to get a dress for the event." He mentioned.
"I'll find one in my own time." She replied curtly, wanting to get home as soon as it was humanly possible. She walked out of the mall as Elio continued to ramble about God knows what.
"I read that book, by the way." He suddenly voiced, catching her attention. "Midsummer's dream."
She raised a brow, slightly taken by surprise. She had forgotten about the book. In fact, she didn't think he would read the book at all, much less finish it in such a short amount of time.
"What'd you think about it?" She asked as they walked towards his car. He unlocked the doors and they both hopped in.
"Tell me." He began. "Why did you give me the book? I told you my ex-wife cheated on me and you gave me Shakespeare? What did you expect me to learn from it?"
"So you haven't learned anything from the book?" Her tone made her words sound more like a statement than a question. She hadn't expected much from him yet he still managed to disappoint her.
"What were you trying to achieve? Do you want me to get back with Catherine or something?"
She blinked, unsure what to say. For the first time in a while, Thea was genuinely stumped. She bit down into her bottom lip, deep in thought. Why did she give him the book?
"We can talk about it in our next session." She finally let out, her tone much more uncertain than she usually was. Giving her one last look, he decided not to question her any further and started the car.
...
"So, do you want to take your car and go back to my place to pick up your stuff?" Elio asked as they pulled up into the parking lot of the clinic, parking next to her car.
"Uh... yeah." She replied, distant. She was moving out of his place today but she hadn't even heard what he had said. She was too distracted by the familiar blonde woman in the car two parking spots down. He also noticed, leaning over to look at the woman in the car.
"Who is that?" He asked, curious. She pressed her lips together, recognizing the all too familiar woman.
"My sister." Thea let out as she gritted her teeth. Elio raised a brow, watching as the woman looked into the vanity mirror of her car and began applying lipstick. Thea mumbled something incomprehensible underneath her breath, not pleased.
"What is she doing here?" Elio asked, noticing the irritated look on Thea's face. Instead of replying, she had hopped out of the car and shut the door behind her. He watched, confused but curious as Thea walked towards the red sedan.
Thea knocked on the window of the driver's seat. The woman glanced away from the mirror and her eyes lit up immediately despite the annoyed look on Thea's face. Putting the cap back on her lipstick and placing it back in her purse, Hannah rolled down the window.
"What are you doing here?" Thea demanded as she glanced around the back of the car, making sure she didn't bring an unexpected visitor.
"Mom wants to have a family dinner. Tonight." Hannah answered her question. Her reply was quick and straightforward. Thea frowned. She was never straightforward.
"With our father, I presume?" Thea asked dryly. Her sister only nodded. Thea scoffed in response. Had they forgotten everything that he'd done? Time may have healed the physical wounds the poor excuse of a father had left her but once he came back, all her psychological wounds opened right back up. Yet her mother and sister seemed to forgive him for everything he'd done as if he was some sort of saint. "Tell her that I won't be joining you guys for dinner." She finally voiced before she turned around, starting to walk away before her sister called out after her.
"It's serious, Thea!" Hannah called out but Thea ignored her, continuing to walk away. "You know she wouldn't invite father back into our home unless it was something serious."
Thea froze in her tracks. She stood there, unsure what to do. Hannah was right. Her mother was never good at decision making but she wouldn't have done something as foolish as inviting their father back without a reason. She glanced up, making eye contact with Elio. He raised a questioning brow and she responded with a grim look before turning back around to face her sister.
"What time?" She asked, letting out a defeated sigh.
"Right now." Right now?
"Ok, you go ahead. I'll be right behind you." Thea uttered and Hannah slowly nodded, giving her an almost doubtful look before she pulled out of the parking spot.
Thea walked back to Elio's car, opening the door. "I have to go to my mom's." She told him, her expression blank.
Surprisingly enough, he didn't question what had just happened. He merely nodded, understanding the situation. Giving him one last look, she slowly took a step back and shut the car door before walking to her car, feeling the uncomfortable sensation of his burning gaze on her back.
