Untitled Part 5
I don't own Naruto.
Hinata watched as Kaira stared at her blankly. "So..." the woman began, taking a deep breath. "Lover boy got resting bitch face pregnant, Madara and Izuna did that to your face, and Tobirama is a hint of nice to you... and... what else has happened in the past two months since I've been torturing the Uchiha boys? Oh yeah... you learned how to use a sword and can do so like a boss one handed. Did I get all that right?" she asked and Hinata nodded softly. "And resting bitch face thought you were trying to steal Lover boy away from her?" Kaira asked and Hinata nodded once more. "Damn, and she gave you the lecture after you had your ass beat by the Uchiha boys. What a shameless bitch." Kaira sighed as she flopped backwards on to Kumo once more.
"I don't blame her for being scared though... I would be too if I were pregnant and were worried about some random girl that happened to land right on top of the father of my child." Hinata sighed and Kaira raised a single brow at her. Hinata huffed lightly in amusement and nodded to her. "Yeah, the very first day I met him, I came stumbling out of a tree and literally landed right on him." She sighed and Kaira laughed at her. "Oh shit, soul mates just falling out of the sky here." She said and Hinata blushed lightly and shook her head.
"I'm not his soul mate... I'm pretty sure she is, and besides... I never even had a chance." She said and Kaira gave her an odd look, her lower lip poking out slightly. Not in a pout but in a more contemplative look. "I mean, I could make her vanish..." Kaira said and Hinata swatted her hand. "No! no interfering with Hashirama and Mito!" she snapped and Kaira sighed, running her fingers through her hair, her bangs now no longer clipped off to the side but cut to where they spike out over her forehead, the rest of her once straight hair in a spiky high ponytail. She was still a beautiful woman, it was just she now seemed to be embracing the messy Uchiha hair style.
"I see Madara and Izuna have shown you the way of the messy hair." Hinata sighed and Kaira laughed. "Honestly you would think those mops would be so tangled all the time, but they actually aren't. Their hair is super soft too, they take pride in their hair it seems." Kaira mused and Hinata blinked at her oddly. "So... not only have you been fondling them, you've been fondling their hair too, got it." She said and Kaira snorted loudly. "Nah, I haven't been fondling them lately. Madara actually managed to shove me off his lap and resist my charm. Seems I don't have that much of an effect on him anymore sadly, he was fun to tease." She sighed wistfully and Hinata looked down to her hands.
"Did you really mean it when you said you wanted to marry Tobirama?" she asked and Kaira watched her carefully. "Why? Do you want him?" she asked and Hinata shook her head. "No, its just... deep down he is a good person, although he can be a jerk at times... he is a good person and as much as I love you, I can't have you hurting him." She said and Kaira smirked at her. "You love me huh?" she asked and leaned around to look her right in the eyes. She reached up to try and place her fingers on her chin but Hinata slapped them away and glared at her. "You know what I mean! Don't try flirting with me now!" Hinata snapped and Kaira laughed loudly as she returned to where she was sitting.
Hinata huffed in irritation and shook her head, Kaira flirted with her just like Kiba did. It was something about the Inuzuka that just came off really rugged... and flirty... she had seen Tsume flirting with her father a few times as well and she sighed, trying to get the though out of her mind. "Hey, you said you loved me I was just making a move." Kaira said defensively but Hinata swatted the back of her hand and shook her head once more. "Kaira no." she mumbled and the Inuzuka stood and stretched, her bones popping all over the place. "You make me feel like I need a chiropractor when you do that..." Hinata mumbled as she stood.
"You didn't answer my question." Hinata said and Kaira smirked at her as she helped her to stand. "And you still haven't answered mine." Kaira shot back and Hinata sighed deeply. "Well, it's obvious I couldn't be with him even if I wanted to now, isn't it?" Hinata sighed and Kaira shrugged. "I mean... time will only tell." She said and scratched Kumo behind his ears. Hinata knew that the woman was right, time could only tell but she was pretty sure she never had a chance to be with the dark haired man. Hinata looked back over to Kaira, who now seemed to be avoiding the question she had asked her.
"I answered yours, now what about mine?" Hinata asked and Kaira grinned at her and took off running down the hill towards the Senju compound. Hinata grit her teeth, but chased after the brunette once more. She supposed this was vengeance for when she had quite literally run away from Kaira's question.
:-:-:-:
Hashirama looked up the hill to see both Kaira and Hinata running down the hill, bright smiles on each of their lips as they chased one another. He looked down to the woman attached to his arm and his eyes softened. The slightest hint of the baby bump was visible if you paid attention. His eyes made their way back up to the two women who had run around the corner, narrowly dodging his father who only shook his head and chuckled. When his father looked over and saw him watching him, his face saddened. It seemed everyone looked at him that way lately when it came to the announcement of Mito's pregnancy.
He had been excited, but also scared. He was going to be a father, but he was also still at war with the Uchiha. He knew at any point he could have to go back out there and fight once more, the possibility of him not returning to her made his heart ache. He looked back up just in time to see Kaira run right into Tobirama, who had held out his arms to stop her from tumbling the both of them over. He chuckled as he watched his brother scold the Inuzuka woman, but only for her to smile up at him sweetly.
Hashirama couldn't help but shake his head at this. The woman clearly had feelings for his younger brother, he was just too dense to see that she was flirting with him. Or he knew she was flirting and he wanted nothing to do with it. It was definitely one or the other... He watched in mild amusement as Kaira tried to play cute with him, clasping her hands in front of her and twisting the toe of one of her shoes in the dirt as she looked up at him and batted those blue eyes of hers. This was different than the normal way she flirted, so he knew she meant it.
He watched his brother fly through a multitude of expressions, which he usually had good control over. His expression finally landed on irritation and he started yelling at the woman, who only batted her eyes at him again. He watched as Tobirama buried his head in his hands and Kaira gently reached up to grasp his hands and pull them away from his face, only to rub her cheek against the back side of his hands. "Those two are idiots." He sighed and Mito looked up at him, then back to the two he had been watching.
"It seems he likes the attention she gives him, which makes me wonder why he refused the marriage proposition." She said softly and he nodded. "I wondered that myself, but I think it is because if he wants to commit, he will do it on his own terms." He said and she looked up at him once more, a strange look flickering through her gaze. She was quiet for a while, just watching the two as they continued to bicker. Eventually it seemed that Tobirama had gotten tired of the little game Kaira was playing and he grabbed her by the chin and said something to her, a wicked smirk gracing his lips as he said it.
He wondered what his brother had told her, seeing as her innocent act fell and she slipped in closer to him gripping his blue outer shirt tightly. He looked over and saw that Hinata was turning bright red and it appeared that steam was going to start coming out of her ears at any moment as she started flailing her arms and stammering, begging the two of them to stop whatever it was they were doing. He could only chuckle at the antics of the bashful woman.
"Do you feel the same as Tobirama?" Mito asked suddenly, causing him to rip his gaze from the pale eyed woman. "What do you mean?" he asked as he looked down at her. She looked up at him with sad brown eyes. "Did you want to commit to me, or are you just doing so because I'm pregnant?" she asked and he furrowed his brows at her. "What are you talking about?" he asked and she jerked her head to look away from him once more. He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He didn't understand what was going on with her... they had been together for five years now...
What could have changed in that time to make her feel like he didn't want to be with her? He couldn't for the life of him understand why she was acting this way all of a sudden. "I'm going to go break up whatever it is that is going on between my brother and Kaira, wait here... I will be right back." He sighed and he made his way over to the group he had been watching. As if she had noticed him coming their way, Hinata turned and made her way into the house they shared.
He frowned at this, now what was going on with Hinata? He looked back to see Mito staring off in another direction, and Hinata had vanished within the doorway to their home. He couldn't understand what was going on with the women around him lately... Hinata always refused to train with him anymore and if she saw him she ran the other way. Mito was always gaslighting him and making him feel like he had made a mistake. He didn't think he had done anything to either of them, and yet they treated him differently than they used to.
He sighed and continued on his path to Tobirama and Kaira, who he could now hear what they were saying to one another and it brought a blush to even his cheeks. "Hey... guys... you are out where everyone can hear you..." he said nervously and Kaira looked over at him and looked him up and down. "I would offer to give you some of this as well, but it seems you get enough already." She said and he blushed a little darker. Tobirama snatched her chin back into his grasp and he jerked her face up to look at his roughly. The blush that coated Kaira's cheeks said that she enjoyed this. Hashirama gulped and turned to Tobirama, who was just smirking at the brunette, who licked her lips under his brother's intense gaze.
"Submit." Tobirama bit out and Kaira watched him for a moment before she tilted her neck to the side, the typical way a dog submitted to their mate. Tobirama released her and she sighed as she watched him leave. "Can... can you guys not do... whatever that was... out in the open?" Hashirama asked nervously waving his hand around in a semi circle, getting an odd feeling from the way his brother had acted towards Kaira. Before he couldn't stand the woman, and now he was playing into her game. Was everyone losing their minds around here? He scratched the back of his neck nervously as Kaira's bright blue eyes landed on him once more.
"I will marry your brother, he can deny it all he wants but it will happen..." she said wistfully and he just blinked at her. "May I ask... what was that between you two?" he asked and she laughed lightly. "It looked much worse than it was, I promise... he was honestly telling me they'd never find my body if I kept it up." She said and he sighed in relief. "I thought it was some kinky sex thing yall were doing over here and I don't think anyone would wanna take part in that..." he sighed and Kaira laughed loudly.
"No, I promise you, it was just the usual death threats of him threatening to drown me and me flirting at him." She said and he sighed. "You're so damn weird." He sighed as he rubbed his face in the palms of his hands. "Nope... just in love." She chirped as she took off in the direction that Tobirama took off in. He looked over to Hinata's window in time to see her close the curtains once more, he then looked over to see Mito watching him intently. He sent one more glance to the window, and he made his way over to Mito. Once he got there, she stood and walked away from him. He didn't understand what was happening in the slightest, so he just sat down on the bench once more and buried his face in his hands.
:-:-:-:
Tobirama sighed as he crammed his hands in his pockets, he didn't know what had come over him. To grab her like that and say the things he had... he was slightly disgusted in himself. He was never rough with women like that unless it was training, and yet the way he grabbed her... he was ashamed of himself. He felt her presence gaining on him once more and he sighed as he turned to face her. "Tobirama... please stop..." she called and he contemplated walking away once more. He was fast enough to outrun her, he knew this for a fact as he had done it multiple times over.
He stopped and turned to face her once more, however instead of seeing the woman she was... he saw the small child he had met her as. Dirt smeared all over her face, tears clearing paths through said dirt. Spiky brunette hair falling all around her face, and those eyes... those striking blue eyes... they pleaded for him to stop. He suddenly felt small, like he was nothing in this world and was just an ant compared to a bijuu... those arms of hers found their way around his shoulders and he found himself unable to move. He couldn't even speak...
The memories of the day he saved her came rushing back and he couldn't help but see the hopeless child she had been, staring at him in awe. He had taken out the Uchiha that had tried to kill her and all he could see was the gratitude in her blue eyes. Was this why she chased after him all the time? Was she trying to offer herself as payment for saving her? He couldn't let her do that... it wasn't right. He blinked and the visage before him was that of a pleading woman, not the seductive one that always flirted with him and drove him insane...
The woman before him... just wanted him to hear her out.
"What?" he asked and she looked up at him and he couldn't seem to find the air to breathe anymore. "Tobirama... I..." she started, but it seemed like she couldn't find the words anymore. She just looked defeated, as if she were giving up. "What is it?" he asked softer this time, in case his biting tone was what had caused her to lose her focus. She just sighed and stepped back away from him. "Nevermind... it's nothing... I just... I can't..." she sighed and turned away from him once more. He reached out and grabbed her wrist and he furrowed his brow at this... his body had moved on its own.
"I just wanted you to know... I meant what I said." She whispered, only to gently pull her wrist from his grasp and take off running the opposite direction. He watched her leave, confusion flooding his body. She hadn't said anything to him that she could be referring to, so he was utterly confused. He sighed and rubbed his eyes as Hinata made her way over to him. He had noticed the way she seemed to be avoiding his older brother which only confused him more. He shook his head and watched as she stopped right beside him. Something was going on with all the women around here and it was too annoying to try and understand.
"Hinata... what the hell is going on around here with all of you?" he asked with a groan and she looked down to her fingers. "Uh... I... it's complicated..." she whispered and he huffed at her vague response. "She said she meant what she said, but I have no idea what she was talking about... you wouldn't happen to know would you?" he asked, the irritation at all the irrational women surrounding him was getting on his nerves. He looked down to her and her eyes were wide as she stared at him, only to look at where Kaira had vanished too.
"She did mean it..." she whispered softly and he crossed his arms over his chest. Not a damn one of them was going to talk about what the hell was going on and it was getting on his last nerve. He rubbed his forehead once more, only for an idea to pop into his head and he turned and ran towards the building his mother was in. He burst through the front door and saw his mother sitting at the table. He looked around to make sure his father wasn't around and he sat down beside her when he was satisfied that he wasn't near.
"Ma... I have a question..." he began and she stopped sipping her drink to look at him in slight amusement. "Kaira is in love with you, Hinata has a crush on Hashirama, and Mito is pregnant. Things are just awkward around here, and now you come around asking questions too... I have no idea what to do with my poor dense boys..." she sighed as she sat her small cup of sake on the table once more. "Yes... wait... what?" he asked and she only shook her head as she swirled the sake in the glass before her.
"Where did we go wrong? Raising a bunch of idiots who struggle to try and keep it in their pants, or they are just an idiot to begin with." She sighed as she patted him on the cheek gently. he just stared at his mother with a scowl on his lips. "I'm not an idiot." He grumbled and she downed the rest of the sake in her cup and crossed her arms over her chest, only to shake her head and close her eyes. "If the only thing you took from everything I said... you are in fact... an idiot." She sighed and he just continued to scowl at her as she poured another glass of sake.
He placed a hand over her cup before she could take a sip from it and she leered at him over the cup. "You said that Kaira is in love with me... I caught that... I just don't believe it." he said and she only began to laugh. "You're as stubborn as your damn father. I saw everything that happened between the two of you out there! You flirted back, Tobirama." His mother mused and a slight pink tint coated his cheeks. "You heard that huh?" he grumbled softly as his mother continued to laugh at him.
"Oh my poor son... you know what the best part of that horrifying little display was?" she asked and he scowled at her once more. "It was the fact that she didn't want to tell Hashirama you had actually flirted back, she told him you were making the usual threats. She loves you, and she has for a long time. I don't know if you remember, but she used to always come find us when we would enter her land even when she was a little girl." She said and Tobirama rolled his eyes.
"She only is doing this because of that time I saved her." He grumbled but she shook her head yet again. "No... you and her used to sit by the river and play with Itama and Kawarama..." she said and he furrowed his brows. He didn't remember that in the slightest. He tried his best, but the memories wouldn't emerge. His mother just leaned back in her chair and sipped her drink once more, it seemed she was trying to will away all of the stress plaguing all of them.
"If you don't believe me, look her in the eyes the next time you get that close to her. Feel her chakra... just pay attention to something other than yourself and you'll figure it out." She mused and he rolled his eyes, only to snatch the new glass of sake from her and down it himself. "Hey..." she whined as he stood and walked out. Every last one of the women in his life were frustrating, and they wondered why he didn't want to get married. He would be bound to someone who annoyed him for the rest of his life.
:-:-:-:
Hinata listened intently as the Senju scouts gave them intel on what was happening. Uchiha clansmen seemed to have decided they no longer wanted to follow Madara or Izuna's lead and had begun backing out of any ambushes on the senju, this didn't stop the brothers though. She knew they were going to have to face them soon and that thought terrified her. She hadn't seen Kaira since she had witnessed the two of them flirting shamelessly in front of everyone. She scratched her brow lightly as she wondered what exactly had been going through Tobirama's mind when he had told her he knew a place he could bury himself.
The outright vulgarity of it had embarrassed the life out of her, but Kaira only seemed to be excited that he was finally flirting back. She wished they would just go ahead and make babies so she wouldn't have to stress about those two fools. Kaira was hopelessly in love with Tobirama but he was kind of an idiot when it came to that. The wicked smirk on his lips flashed through his mind and she shivered. She really didn't want to think about those two right now. That had been almost two months ago now, and she couldn't help but wonder if her friend was alright.
She blinked, realizing that Tobirama had been talking to her and she repressed the urge to scowl at him. He only smirked at her, knowing full well she could never look at him the same way again. "Are you going to come with us Hinata?" he asked once more and she nodded. "Are you sure? I know you are better trained with your sword now, but I know how you feel at the prospect of facing the brothers once more..." he said and she nodded. "Yes... I am sure. If we don't do this, we may never end this useless fighting among us." She sighed and he nodded.
She felt Hashirama's gaze on her, but he said nothing to her. Her heart ached because she truly wanted nothing more than to talk to her friend, but she had also promised Mito she would stay away. So she wasn't going to interact with him in the slightest if it kept the redhead off her back. She waited until she could no longer feel his gaze to look over at him. His eyes no longer held that bright shine and his features just looked sad. She hated that he seemed to be in a depressed state he couldn't escape, but she was in no place to mingle in whatever was going on with him. She knew in her own time that he had married Mito and had lived out his days with her, so she was resigned to the fact that it was going to happen all over again.
Her little infatuation or whatever it was had no place in changing history. She glanced over at Tobirama and she couldn't help but wonder why he had never gotten married in her real time if Kaira had been chasing after him here. That made no sense to her honestly. She had heard somewhere that Kaira ended up having a son, but she had no idea who the father of that kid was. She couldn't help but wonder if it was Tobirama's secret child...
When the rest of them all stood, she made her way out of the room and went to go gear up, they were going to set a trap and ambush the brothers... and Kaira. She pulled on her armor and tied her blade to the back of her hips as Tobirama had taught her. She looked over to see Hashirama come into the room as well, but he said nothing to her. It was as if he were avoiding her as well, which honestly hurt her but she didn't understand why, she was doing it to him for the sake of his relationship so why should it hurt her? She listened to his footsteps as he walked about the room, gathering all the things he needed, before he came within a few feet of her.
Her hands were flat over the table in the center and he came to stand behind her. She hoped and prayed he was just grabbing some things from the shelf behind her, but his presence just lingered there. She knew he was waiting for her to turn to face him, but she just couldn't. She bit back a gasp as his fingers found their way into her hair ever so gently, pulling the tresses up toward him. She stared at him in the reflection of the glass before her and she watched as he lifted the silky strands to his lips and kissed them softly.
Her heart thumped her chest and she gripped the table before her as he reached and pulled her hair over her shoulders ever so delicately. She just watched him in the reflection as he toyed with her hair for a moment, only for it to fall against her back in a solid braid. He moved closer to her and placed his hands on the table on both sides of hers. Her body began to tremble as she felt his chest press against her back, his chin resting on the top of her head gently. She watched as his eyes slipped shut and he just sighed softly. What was he doing?
She watched as he stepped back away from her, only to sweep out of the room silently. Not a single word was shared between them, but his actions spoke so much louder than the silence. Tears forced themselves from her eyes and she leaned forward to bury her face in the back of her hands. She didn't want anyone else to see her crying, so she bit back all the sobs that wanted to escape her. She couldn't stop the tears, but she would be damned if she let anyone else see her suffering this way. Soft footsteps came into the room and she held her breath, willing the tears to stop with all the strength she had left in her.
A hand found its way to her shoulder and she looked up to see Tobirama looking over the braid that trailed down her back, the look in his eyes said he knew who had done it. She looked down in silent shame but he patted her atop the head softly. "You have nothing to be ashamed of, only he does... and her... she also has things to be ashamed of." Tobirama said softly as he made his way around the room to gather his things as well. "What should she have to be ashamed of?" she asked him and he looked over to her with sad eyes.
"Her constant efforts to keep him away from you led to the end of their relationship, neither of them have admitted that yet though. The moment she made you stay away from him; their relationship would never go back to being what it was." He said softly as he clicked his armor in place. She just listened to him as he continued. "She destroyed any trust the two of them had and made him feel like he had been doing something wrong, when in all truth... he was never doing anything wrong. He truly was just your friend at first." He said as he moved to tie the blade behind his back, only to look up at her once more, his arms crossing over his chest. "After so many months of her gaslighting him and making him feel like it was his fault you wouldn't talk to him, he seemed to come to the realization that you did mean something to him, more than just a friend." He said and she just looked down at her fingers once more.
"She pushed him to you by keeping him away from you. She only has herself to blame for that, because her jealousy and her anger only emphasized the way you felt for him." Tobirama sighed as he made his way over to her once more. "My brother is an idiot... but he is also pretty damn brilliant... and loyal. No matter what she will say to you when their relationship does end... I just want you to know it as in no way your fault, because you only did as she asked of you and you did that well." He said as he touched the braid going down her back once more. He released it and made his way outside. She reached behind her and pulled the braid around her shoulder so she could look at it as well.
She released it to fall back over her shoulders as she made her way outside of the building as well. When she looked around her, she saw everyone that was going with them already prepared. Mito was clinging to Hashirama's arm and his expression as he looked at her was sad... cold and sad. She saw what Tobirama was talking about now, they both looked miserable and it seemed everyone around them could see it but themselves. Her heart ached for him, and for her, but she was not going to be in the middle of their issues.
:-:-:-:
Hashirama could feel her presence within the room, he briefly wondered if he should wait for her to leave, as to be respectful of her feelings. She hadn't wanted to be around him ever since he had brought her back from where she had been injured in the forest. He missed her friendship, those brilliant smiles that lit up his world every time he had seen them. He sighed as he decided there was no time to waste and he needed to gather his things. He glanced over at her and she was just staring down at her hands that were placed flat against the tabletop. He wondered if she had even realized he was in the room, that's how deep in thought she seemed.
He gathered all his things, but he didn't put his armor on yet as that was hanging right behind her. He didn't want to encroach on her space, he knew she would be upset if he did so. He breathed softly, only to make his way over to his armor, but he couldn't help himself. He turned and looked down on her, her silky blue-black hair cascaded down over her back and looked so tempting to touch. He wanted nothing more than for her to turn and look at him, just for her to explain why she had been avoiding him at every turn. He craved an explanation from her because his heart ached at the loss of her friendship. Mito had been telling him for months now that he had done something to hurt her feelings and that he should just leave her alone.
He had no idea what he had done to her, he just wanted to know so he could fix it and have his friend back. Every single time he had tried to ask her, Mito told him that he was only going to make it worse and that he should just forget about it. That he should just forget about her and focus on her and his child. After constantly being berated and told he was the reason she avoided him, he couldn't help but hurt inside. He wasn't happy anymore, not with Mito... not with anyone. He no longer wanted to be with Mito, because all she did was yell at him and tear him down, calling him a horrible person for hurting Hinata's feelings and things of the sort.
If this was what an abusive relationship was like, he didn't want to be in it anymore. He couldn't just leave though... not with that small innocent child growing within her. He was going to stay with her and try to make things better, if for nothing else than that tiny innocent human who didn't deserve to have parents who fought. He looked back down at her to see she still hadn't moved to face him, but that was ok... he reached and brushed his fingers through her soft hair and smiled softly. He pulled a bundle of tresses away from the rest of her hair and admired the shine, he slipped his eyes shut and pulled the hair up to him. It smelled floral and inviting, he liked that. It calmed his stressed soul.
He placed his lips against the hair, only to let it fall back to where it belonged. He reached forward once more and pulled all of her dark locks over her shoulders and ran his fingers through her hair once more, only to start braiding it. When he tied the end of the braid he allowed it to gently fall against her back. She still made no moves to get away from him, so he took that as she was not avoiding him of her own volition. He stepped forward and placed his much larger hands on top of the table right beside hers, his thumbs brushing over the backs of her hands gently. He pressed his chest against her back and he felt her tense up at this, but yet again she made no moves to escape his touch. He looked to the glass across from them and he saw her eyes watering, the subtle trembling of her lips.
He breathed a sigh and rested his chin atop her head gently, slipping his eyes shut and just allowing himself to be near her. Even if it was temporary, he was going to enjoy the little bit of contact that he would allow. He felt Tobirama's presence coming and he stepped back away from her the pads of his thumbs gently brushing over the back of her hands once more. He grabbed his armor silently and turned to look at her once more before he left the room. One thought lingering in his mind as he left.
'I'm sorry Hinata... for anything I have done wrong to you...'
