•THIRD PERSON•

Bernadeth immediately informed her husband Richard about the incident that took place between her and her son.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Xiamin's parents noticed that their Unica Hija was very happy after the visit of the young man, Zachrey.

"Sweetie, you look so happy today," said Andrea, her mom.

The young girl just smiled, and in a soft voice, she answered, "Yes, Mommy. I thought Zachrey would never visit me again after learning about my condition. Oh, and you know what," She looked happily at both of her parents. "he also told me that he will do anything to be by my side no matter what."

Her parents smiled, but they were cautious.

"You know, Sweetie, you're both young and still need to know each other well. I trust the guy but don't expect much from him," Scott said.

The young girl's smile did not fade away, and with an exciting voice, she answered, "Yeah, I know. However, I know that Zachrey is responsible enough, and we both know where we stand at the moment."

She gazed out at the window and her dazzling eyes are clear enough to witness the dancing stars above.

Without her knowing, her parents concocted a plan to separate the two. There are no words that can describe how much they love their only daughter, and they do not want the relationship to cause more damage than harm to Xiamin's fragile condition.

The following day, both of her parents waited for Zachrey to visit so that they can talk and convince him to stay away from their daughter. However, the young man never showed up.

Meanwhile, at Zachrey's house, another argument erupted between Zachrey and his mother, Bernadeth.

"And where the hell do you think you're going, young man?" Zachrey's mother blocked the front door of their house. "For all I know, you have no classes today."

Zachrey's eyebrows met. But he still managed to answer proudly but politely

"I will go where my heart desires, and you can never stop me, Ma." He was about to pass his mother, but she blocked his path again.

"Seriously, Ma?!" Zachrey exclaimed in the back of his mind.

"Don't you want to be stopped?!"

Bernadeth began to raise her voice to her son, and Zachrey retaliated.

"You're right, Ma! You can never stop me!" He shoved his mother off, but suddenly, his mother's body started to tremble as she held her chest tightly.

"M-Ma?!" The feeling of anxiety suddenly rushed into the young man's veins.

Because of it, Zachrey had no other choice but to lend his mother a hand.

"M-Ma, sorry! What h-happened to you?"

"S-Son, I suddenly felt d-dizzy, and my c-chest tightened." She stammered.

Zachrey carried his mother into the house and laid her on the sofa.

"Mom, just stay here. I'll just get some water." The young man immediately got up and ran to the kitchen to get some water from the refrigerator.

Little did he know, his mother was only acting as if she has a heart attack.

"I'm sorry, too, Son. This is the only way to stop you from going," Bernadeth said in her mind.

Zachrey came back with a full glass of water.

"Ma, here's the water. Drink it. Tell me, what the hell happened to you?" he asked with genuine concern.

His mother drank the water.

"Zachrey, please, don't go anywhere. Don't leave me. I don't feel very well."

"Should I bring you to the hospital, Ma?"

"No, I'll just need some rest. Please," She held her son's hands. "just don't leave me here alone."

The young man sighed in defeat and just nodded. No matter how much he wanted to leave, he just can not afford to leave her mother in that kind of situation.

"Okay, Ma. Just take a rest, and I'll take care of things here." His mother was glad, however, Zachrey said another thing afterward. "But, the moment you'll feel better, I'll leave, and go to Xia."

Bernadeth was beyond delighted that her acting was a huge success just to buy time until her husband arrives in days to come.

Days have passed, Xiamin's doctor, Fidji Saavedra finally disclosed to Andrea and Scott that her niece's body is no longer responding to the treatment. So sadly, she advised them to prepare for the worst.

"Andrea, Scott, we're very sorry." Fidji's expression was about to rain as she talked to Xiamin's parents. However, she still held on to her grit and tried her very best not to falter. "Based on our latest diagnosis, Crystal's body is rejecting all the treatments that we have conducted."

She closed her eyes when she heard her cousin started to breakdown. She could not bear seeing Crystal's parents suffering, too.

"The only thing we can do in this hospital is to prolong her life, but it will also prolong her agony." Doc Fidji reached the point where she can no longer bear what she was truly feeling inside. Her tears seep on her face as she reported the probably worst news she ever received in her entire life.

"S-She's too y-young! Is t-there no other w-way to treat h-her even if we go a-abroad?!" The teary Andrea uttered that you can not even fully comprehend what she was saying.

"Doc, there must be a way." Even if Scott acted strong and calm, his eyes were transparent. Fidji could see that he was about to cry.

"S-Sorry. W-We did everything w-we could," The teary Doctor also uttered. "Even if you bring her to other countries... Still, it won't do any good."

Xiamin

's parents and the doctor took a little while to argue with each other. After several minutes, Fidji wiped the tears on her face, and said, "Okay, just talk this over, you two. If you want to prolong Crystal's life, it's okay with me." She turned her back to leave. "But again, it will also prolong her agony."

After that, the Doctor left with a heavy heart. Both of Xiamin's parents were still weeping, and they just continued to argue if what they should do to keep their beloved daughter alive.

"Scott, I think it's better if we phone Zachrey so that he'll come here. Even in the last moments, those two will see each other," Andrea uttered between her cries.

"I agree. We should have done this a long time ago."

They immediately called Zachrey, but unfortunately, the person on the other line was Zachrey's mother who confiscated his phone.

"Hi! This is Scott. May I speak with Zachrey, please?"

"Hello! This is Zachrey's mother, Bernadeth. He's not here. But may I know why you want to talk with my son?"

Scott was perplexed about why Zachrey's mother was the one who answered his phone.

"Kindly tell him that we would like him to see our daughter, Crystal as soon as possible for her condition is already in critical."

Bernadeth gasped because of what she heard, but she chose not to make it sound so obvious.

"Okay, I'll let him know immediately when he arrives."

"I understand, thank you very much." Scott ended the call.

At that moment, Zachrey went down from upstairs and asked his mother, "Ma? Did I hear you talking to somebody? Who was what?"

"No, Son. Just a wrong number," Bernadeth answered very calmly while deleting the last call received on the Zachrey's phone.

"Was presuming it was someone else." Sadness registered on Zachrey's face. "Ma, I'll leave and go to the hospital tomorrow. For sure, you'll already be fine. It's been days since you rested," The young man uttered with a bored tone.

"Sure, sure, Zachrey. You better take a rest, too."

Guilt immediately rushed into Bernadeth's veins because of what she did. However, lying was the only thing she could do to stop her son from going to the hospital─for if she will tell what truly happened to the poor Xiamin, Zachrey will surely become unstoppable and beyond her reach.

The next morning, Zachrey took an early shower, fixed and arranged himself to go to the hospital. He was so excited because finally after so many days, he will be able to see Xiamin anew. Suddenly, he heard a loud thud from the other room. He ran and checked what was the cause of it. There, he saw his mother lying helplessly on the ground.

"M-Ma, what happened?!" He quickly and worriedly rushed to pick her up. He quickly sat her on the bed, "Ma, just what the hell happened to you? You're making me worry now!"

"N-Nothing, Son. I just suddenly felt dizzy." Bernadeth saw that his son was already done dressing up, so she sent her acting skills to a whole new level. "You can go now. Didn't know you already changed clothes. Go, that girl might already be waiting for you at the hospital right now."

Still worried, Zachrey said, "No, Ma! I'll bring you to the hospital so that you will be checked by a doctor this instant!"

Zachrey was about to call an ambulance when his mother promptly stopped him.

"No, Zachrey! Just call one later when your father arrives. Besides, he'll be coming in two days."

Zachrey was flabbergasted because her mother still insisted not to go to the hospital. He was so worried that his mind was going zigzag. Even though he wanted to see Xiamin so bad, he can not leave his mother in that condition alone.

The young man ran his hands through his hair angrily.

"Fine, Ma. I won't go anywhere, and I'll take care of you. But," The young man's tone became staid. "when Dad arrives, you should see a doctor."

Bernadeth plastered a smirk on her face in secret because her plan succeeded. Zachrey wanted to call Cj, but his mother hid his phone somewhere. Out of respect to her mother's decision, she just let her have it.

Zachrey never stopped thinking for Xia and hoping that his mom's condition will get better as soon as possible. However, deep in his mind, he could not help but cuss.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Xiamin's condition worsened.

"I think that boy is ignoring our daughter." Anger can be seen in Scott's eyes. "If he truly cares for our daughter, he should be here by now."

"That's why I told you that I don't trust that boy anymore. He's just a bad influence on our daughter in her final moments," Andrea said angrily to his husband Scott.

"So, what should we do now?" Scott asked his wife.

"We'll discharge Crystal from here, and we'll bring her back to our house," Now, a rainy expression registered on Andrea's face. "and I don't want to see that boy's face in our premises."

At first, Andrea would bet a million dollars to Zachrey for her daughter, but now that he has not shown up yet while Xiamin's in her worst condition, the way she treats the young man just changed in just a snap of a finger.

However, Andrea was incognizant about what Scott has been doing in secret behind her back. Scott tried to phone Zachrey anew to let him know that they will be leaving the hospital for even just for a short moment, the two will see each other again. Because he knows that her daughter will be much elated if Zachrey is at her side. Also, it will be so that what her daughter was feeling would be lessened even just for a bit. He is angry, yes. But he still wants Zachrey for her daughter, and he is trying his best to give him a second chance.

Unfortunately, he already called him five times but the same answer kept on reiterating, "The number can not be reached. Please try your call later."

So, he tried to send him a text message because if he can not talk to him, maybe Zachrey can read his message.

Zach, this is Scott Sandoval. If you love my daughter, come immediately to the hospital. Crystal's condition is getting worst by the minute, and there is nothing that the doctor can do. You know you are the only one that could somehow ease the pain that she feels right now. We're planning to check her out tomorrow, and let her have her final moments at home. We want her to be happy, and we know aside from us, you are one person that made her smile. Please do come. Time is ticking.

That was the full content of Scott's text message. While they were guarding at the hospital with Les Villamor and her cousin which happens to be Zachrey's best friend at the same time, Cj Reidens, Xiamin's mother went out of the room to settle their hospital bills.

"You guys take care of things here, and I'll just settle the things at the billing section," Andrea said.

When she went out, Scott ordered the cousins to call or text Zachrey. While the two were busy with his orders, Scott secretly checked his phone. Hoping that any moment, Zachrey can make a call or be in the hospital with them. However, the two were not able to contact him.

"Cj, weren't you able to contact Zachrey?"

"No, Uncle. Can not be reached, and I already sent him a message." Cj is sad because he is also worried about why his best friend is not answering to any of their calls and texts.

"Same here, Uncle. Can't contact him, either," Les also said with a rainy voice. "You know, Uncle, Ponyo, and I have been calling and texting him for days, but still to no avail."

"What the hell happened to him? Did he just completely ghost us?" Scott wondered. "That's not how I see him, he looks pretty responsible."

"We are as well, Uncle, we're also confused. I know my best friend, he's not an irresponsible person," said Cj. "I went to his house once because he was always absent, but Aunt Bernadeth, his mom said that he wasn't there."

Les was perplexed and asked, "Where would Zachrey go?"

"There might only be a single meaning to this. There's got to be something wrong." Scott suddenly went into deep thought, and they suddenly heard a weak voice.

"D-Daddy..." The three immediately faced Xiamin. "Is Zachrey not here yet?"

They walked towards her and even though it excruciated them, Scott told her that they were still trying to contact the man she was looking for.

"But worry not, Baby. We won't sit still unless we contact him." He gave her daughter a forced smile while holding her hands and the two friends on her bedside.

As soon as Xiamin heard what her father said, tears flowed from her eyes and they could not hold their tears, too, from falling because they knew that their friend was hurt and that Zachrey did not bother to see her.

"D-Don't worry, Xiamin, everything will be alright," Les assured between her cries.

Cj could not say a word. Even he got submerged in sadness seeing Xiamin, the Yandere girl suffer. Moreover, they could not help but feel mad towards Zachrey for not showing up or even call or text.

"Fuck it, Zachrey! This ain't the right time for you to be an official imbecile! You better have a fucking explanation of why you're not showing up! I hate to see your girl cry! I fucking hate to see everyone cry!" Cj exclaimed in his mind.

He let out a muffled sob. Les heard it, so she came closer to lock him in her arms.

"I've already settled all our bills so that we can leave to─Wait, what the bloody hell happened here?" She walked towards her daughter when she saw her looking at her. "Is there something wrong, Crystal? Please, tell your mother," she pleaded.

"Why is it that Z-Zachrey didn't bother to see me anymore?"

"Don't mind him, Baby. That boy is such a good-for-nothing. He's no good for you, and I beg you to stop thinking about him." Andrea's tone had a spice of hate.

She knows that her daughter was hurt by Zachrey's irresponsible and incomprehensible action.

"Okay now, Sweetie. Take a rest, and forget about that boy. It will make you feel better to just stop thinking about him." She forced a smile on her daughter, but Xiamin was too sad to smile.

She said, "Mom, I will take a rest now, but I can never forget the only person who can give life to that clear blue sky in my wildest dreams." After that, she slowly closed her eyes.

Andrea diverted her attention to the two cousins.

"To both of you, thank you so much for staying at my daughter's side in this critical moment." Andrea smiled at both of them. "I know how close you are to that Zachrey boy. But I swear that I will never allow him to come, and see my daughter again for what he did."

The cousins exchanged sad looks because, in their minds, they both knew that what happened was not Zachrey's doing. Even Scott was thinking the same thing.

Meanwhile, at the Mizuno residence, Zachrey felt uneasy. He suddenly felt lonely and longing for someone. So, he approached his mother.

"Ma, can I use my phone?" Zachrey sounded in a hurry.

"Why?" His mother answered him with another serious question.

"I haven't used my phone for days since the day you confiscated it." He battled against his mother's serious tone.

"Okay, Son, but the problem is I forgot where I put it." Bernadeth acted like she was looking for it. "Don't worry, I'll look for it, and I'll let you know as soon as I find it," she said as she went upstairs to her room.

"I need to contact Cj asap and ask him about Xia. For sure, he has some updates about her condition," Zachrey said in his mind.

"Did you find it, Ma?!"

"Not yet! I'll let you know!" Without Zachrey knowing, Bernadeth was doing nothing inside the room.

"Only a few more time and Richard will be here tomorrow. I need to stop you, Zachrey, of your foolishness," Bernadeth uttered with full of confidence in her mind.

It was already mid-day, and still no sign that his mother found his cellphone. Zachrey decided to knock on his mother's door.

"Did you find it, Ma?" He was perplexed of why no one answered, so he thought of just entering the room since it was not locked. "Ma? Are you here?"

There, he saw his mother sitting and looked like having a hard time breathing. He hurriedly approached his mother.

"M-Ma? W-What happened to y-you now?" He asked, faltering.

"I w-was looking for your phone a-and my mind suddenly s-spun and my c-chest tightened." She forced a smile. "Don't worry, maybe I'm just tired."

"O-Okay, Ma. You can find my phone later. The important is that you can take a rest." Zachrey turned her back against her. "Just stay here, please, and I'll go get some water for you."

While Zachrey was downstairs, his mother continued her sinister plan to separate the two youngsters who longed for each other.

"Tomorrow when your father arrives, we will promptly concoct a plan for us to go abroad since I already prepared all the necessary documents. Anyway, your life will be better off out there than here with that sickly girl." Bernadeth sounded like a crazy person talking to her self.
