14) Crying Savi, apologizing Rajat

Next day.

Bhosale family was early riser. There day started with Shantanu going up for walk. Isha collecting newspaper and milk while Savi made coffee for everyone. Quiet a happy family but hollow one too due to the absence of Ishaan.

It's around 6:30 am when savi came up with coffee and set with Isha Maa and Shantanu papa.

Isha Maa was surprisingly silent like she wanted to say something to savi.

Savi looked at her curiously, that's when Isha Maa started, " Savi bada. As you promise me yesterday, I and your baba has find you a groom and we want you to marry next month."

Isha knew if she did delay then might be Savi would reject the promises she made to Isha last day and now she wanted savi to have her share of happiness.

It was enough. Until what time she would grieve for Ishaan. Before Savi husband, Ishaan was Isha's son. If she had learned to live without Ishaan then Savi had to do that also. Enough means enough.

Savi's eyes widened in shock. "Next month? Maa, that's impossible!"

Isha Maa's expression turned resolute. "No more excuses, Savi. Tomorrow, Rohan will come to meet you. He's a good man, and I've already spoken to his family."

Savi felt her world spinning out of control. "Maa, I can't just marry someone I've never met!"

Isha Maa's voice took on a stern tone. "You'll meet him tomorrow, and you'll marry him next month. That's final."

Savi's mind reeled. How could Isha Maa do this?

"Maa, please understand—"

Isha Maa raised her hand, silencing Savi. "No more discussions. Your marriage is arranged. Tomorrow, be ready to meet Rohan at 3 PM."

With that, Isha Maa walked away, leaving Savi feeling trapped and helpless.

Savi's mind was a whirlwind as she walked absent-mindedly, lost in thought. Suddenly, she collided with a familiar figure.

Rajat's hands grasped her shoulders, steadying her.

"Can't you even watch where you're going? Do you have eyes or button." Rajat's voice dripped with sarcasm.

Savi's eyes locked onto his, her frustration boiling over.

"Mr Thakkar, leave me alone, I dont want taunts from you anymore." she muttered, shaking off his grip.

Rajat looked at her, was she in some trouble but why do you care Rajat. He shook that feeling.

" Take responsibility for your action, Rajat." Tara words echoed once again in his ears. Should he go and apologize for his wrong behavior towards her?

Savi came in the park and when she was about to sit on the bench nearby, she stumbled away, tears welling up. She collapsed onto a bench.

Sobs racked her body. Seven years of pain and loss flooded back.

First, Rajat's harsh words: "Stay away from Sai."

Then, Isha Maa's ultimatum: "Marry Rohan."

And amidst it all, the ache of losing Ishaan and their unborn child still lingered.

"Why can't anyone understand me?" Savi whispered, tears streaming down.

As she wept, memories resurfaced: Ishaan's gentle smile, their laughter, and the fateful night that changed everything.

Savi's thoughts swirled, her heart heavy.

Just then, a gentle breeze rustled the leaves, carrying a faint whisper: "You're not alone, Savi."

Rajat's stride faltered as he spotted Savi sitting alone, tears glistening on her cheeks.

His expression softened, and for a moment, his mask of indifference slipped.

He didn't know why the lady infront of him was crying. Might be because of his harsh treatment. But he knew that wasn't a reason. He knew he couldn't make her feel better but he could talk to her. Make her feel heard.

But why?

Tara's words echoed in his mind: "Take responsibility for your actions, Rajat."

He approached Savi cautiously, clearing his throat to announce his presence.

Savi's eyes lifted, red-rimmed and puffy. Their gazes met, and for an instant, Rajat felt a pang of remorse.

"Mr Thakkar" Savi whispered, her voice laced with exhaustion.

Rajat hesitated, unsure what to say. Apologies weren't his forte.

Yet, Tara's words lingered: "You hurt people, Rajat. Make amends."

" Mr Thakkar, you asked me to stay away from Sai. I am doing that now please I don't want any taunts over my barrenhood. I understand you are Sai father and I am no one. Alright." Savi continued, " I have no energy to fight from you please go and take care of Sai as you want. I don't care."

Rajat lips got sealed.
' Rajat it's okay. It's very easy to apologise. Just say sorry. You are just too harsh. You can talk with savi over Sai rather than fighting and commenting a lady motherhood. Okie. Take responsibility of you action.' He reminded himself. He set 2 inch away on the same bench savi set from Savi.

"Savi..." Rajat began, his voice gruff. "I...I didn't mean to hurt you."

Savi's eyes searched his, seeking sincerity.

Savi's words surprised Rajat. "You have all the rights to make decisions for Sai. I was just meddling. It's okay."

Rajat's expression faltered, his eyes narrowing. "That's not the point, Savi."

"I lashed out at you so badly. I even did drama infront of your house being drunk. I'm sorry."

Savi shrugged, a faint smile on her lips. "No need to apologize. I overstepped. You overstepped.  One on one. It's okay. After all. Who am I? Noone."

Rajat's gaze lingered on hers, searching for assurance. "You're not just anyone, Savi. You care for Sai."

Savi's eyes dropped, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know I'm not her mother...but sometimes it feels like...."

Rajat's hand instinctively reached out, covering hers.

Rajat's eyes widened, anticipating a fiery retort from Savi. Instead, her words were laced with vulnerability.

Savi gently takes her hand off from his and put it over her tummy and said, " I see my lost baby in Sai, that's why I started overstepping but I am sorry for that Mr. Thakkar. "

He was taken aback, his mind racing. What had changed? Why was Savi being so... understanding?

Rajat's instincts screamed that something was off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

He studied Savi's profile, noticing the subtle tremble of her lips, the faint shadows under her eyes.

For a moment, he forgot his defenses and saw her – truly saw her.

A spark of curiosity ignited within him.

Rajat's expression softened, his eyes locked onto Savi's. For a moment, he forgot his defenses, and his heart ached.

"Savi..." he whispered, his voice barely audible.
