In the previous chapter :

After filling Alex's mouth with red chillies, we got up and placed headphones on Alex's ears.

After we moved out of the cottage, she handed me her iPod and asked me to play the pop song which was on the list.

I pressed the 'play button' and instead of hearing pop music. I heard a familiar voice yell.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!"

JULIA'S POV :

After all the Alex drama, we went to the arrival area for the final instructions we were supposed to be given before the activity.

Everyone was busy on their devices, some where uploading stories on instagram and some were roaming here and there to look for a spot to find a good network spot.

I looked around to find Renee's team but I couldn't find them anywhere, I sighed and looked at my teammates. Katherine was too busy clicking pictures of random plants, Alex was - um, having a glaring contest with a rock?

I noticed some of my classmates and Ryan looking amused at him.I marched towards them and raised an eyebrow asking them what the matter was.

One of them did a noble job of acknowledging my presence and began, "Well, Alex was carrying a bag of chips and a bottle from he was continuously drinking water while walking, he tripped on that rock which made this packet of chips and the chips inside the packet kiss the floor, so yeah..."

I mentally face palmed, literally for chips? I sighed and nodded letting him know I heard him.

I noticed that our principal has still not arrived. I planned on joining Katherine, when I almost reached her, someone yanked me back.

I turned around to see Alex who had a expression of horror painted on his face. I turned around and raised an eyebrow.

He looked right into my eyes intensely. I gulped and was to take a step back when he stopped me and pulled me back to original place. I gulped. What's wrong?

He began in a serious tone, "You, my friend," he paused, and held my shoulders even tightly, "You were about to step on a piece of chip."

He looked down at the piece of chip with sorrow in his eyes. "Should we give him a proper funeral?" he asked..

I looked at him with a blank expression. Are you freaking kidding me right now?

I jerked his hands off my shoulders, I massaged my head with one hand, trying to calm myself down.

I was cut off before I even began.

"You jerk!" said a familiar shrill voice

"You witch!" said yet another familiar voice.

"You son of a torn bookmark!"

"You - You inflated football!"

"Ugh, you - you," Renee tried finding an insult.

"-empty pack of Doritos!" completed Alex.

"Yeah, exactly! Empty pack of Dorit- wait what-" Renee glared at Alex, giving him a look, 'Are you serious?'

I looked at Alex to see his expression, he stood there with a confident expression and a toothy grin. Giving her a, 'Yep, definitely'

I looked back at Renee to see her roll her eyes. Poor her.

Suddenly she noticed my presence, "Oh My God, finally! Someone sane!"

She ran towards me and grabbed my hand and dragged me towards James, she pointed an accusing finger at him and began, "This idiot right here-"

"She means, Handsome guy" James interrupted.

She threw him a glare and continued, "He said that carrying books on a trip is stupid,"

"Renee, I think he is right you know?" I stated.

James threw a proud smirk at her. She huffed and continued, "No! No Jules! That's not the problem! He frooking agreed!"

"So what's the issue?" I asked genuinely confused.

"Jules you won't believe what he said, and I can't say that with my mouth, I - I," Renee said frustrated.

I turned towards James and gave him a bored look.

He shrugged and said, "What? I just said that books may come handy incase we're short on toilet paper"

I pinched my arm forcing myself from not laughing out loud. Don't judge. This is funny.

Renee looked at me with pained expression, I nodded and pressed my lips together intending to stop showing any signs of amusement.

But Is my fate with me? Like ever? Nah, my eardrums were filled with the laughter of my male bestfriend, Alex.

Renee glared at Alex and pulled him to a corner and started scolding him.

I looked around to find Maria or Dean but I couldn't find either of them. After failing to find them, I turned towards James and asked, "Uh, James. Where are Maria and Dean?"

He looked at me and responded, "Oo, those two are packing the essentials."

I nodded.

After a few minutes, Our principal finally decided to join us, "We apologize for the delay students, but two of the girls of California Girls are missing, we're finding them but failing continuously, if we don't find them soon we may have to cancel the activity. Please co-operate!"

With that everyone started mumbling about the situation.

"I think I should inform Maria and Dean about it," with that James left.

Meanwhile with Dean and Maria.

Maria's pov :

"All done!" I grinned giving Dean a high-five.

Honestly, this trip was a lot harder than I thought, it literally took us two hours to keep everything in place. Why?

Cuz my dear group members planned to have a water fight at frooking five a.m. Making the tents and everything else soaking wet.

But it's alright everything is perfect now. I smiled at Dean and he smiled back showing his cute dimples. My heart melted, he is so cute omg!

After a moment of comfortable silence, my stupid self planned on breaking the ice.

Gathering courage, I looked up at him and asked, "Hey Dean,"

He looked up nodding, urging me to continue.

"Do you have a crush?" I asked bluntly. His eyes widened.

Wow! Great job Maria! Way to spoil the moment, you can't stay quiet can you?

I looked up to find his eyes staring back at me, sending ripples of warmth inside me.

He was about to say something but he was interrupted by James who just entered, "Hey guys! The activity is kinda delayed so we have a lot of time, do you guys mind joining everyone outside?"

"Uh, sure. We're coming! You go, after you," Dean said following James.

I whisper yelled, "So do you?"

He looked back at me and smiled, "Ofcourse I do!"

I saw something in his eyes that I couldn't figure out.

Perfect! Now my crush has a crush on another girl. Darn it.

"She must be beautiful.." I said with a hint of disappointment in my voice.

He looked back at me with a glint of amusement in his eyes, "Narcissistic much, are you?

With that he left leaving me frozen and blood rushing to my cheeks.

HE LIKES ME?

JULIA'S POV :

I was having random conversation with Aaron when I noticed Maria and Dean join us.

"Aaron, Can you help me with something?" asked one of the teachers.

"Of course ma'am," with that he left.

I was about to go where Maria was, but I noticed her and Dean stealing glances at each other.

Oh my God.

Awww!

Instead of joining Maria, I came next to Alex and cooed, "Aren't these two so cute?"

"For real, as cute as those gummy bears that girl is eating," said Alex pointing at a random girl.

"Alex seriously?" I asked giving him a blank look.

He gave me a goofy grin, "Smile Jules #MAN is sailing!"

"Yeah and we seriously need to change that name, don't ya think?"

"True, true." he nodded wisely.

"Do have something in mind?" I asked.

"Surprisingly, yes!" he grinned.

I leaned, "Tell me!"

He leaned forward and whispered enthusiastically "How about #MEAN?"

That was the moment I gave up. Is this guy for real?
