Sahir was somehow expecting Sia to show up soon but seeing her out of the blue at his workplace made him a bit sour. The feeling of being betrayed still stung him. Walking her into his cabin he can feel the tension in the air. Without turning around he asks her the question he has been waiting to throw at her face. "What do you want?" He says sternly.
Sia feels off guarded at his behavior. It is like she is nothing beside him, he is acting all arrogant as if the ground he walks on is made to kiss his feet. She calms her nerves by inhaling as much air as she can. "I came to talk to you about the police report." She jumps straight to the point and tucks a hair strand behind her ear in nervousness.
Sahir rests his arm on the frame of his chair. "Speak." He spits out with the other hand in his pocket and still having his back towards Sia.
Sia grimaces annoyed at his behavior. "This is ridiculous, I can't speak to your back." She says out loud.
"Then the door is behind you." He shrugs and sits down beside his table.
He starts his laptop and Sias hands turns into fists ready to meet his face. "Can you stop behaving this way, I am sorry for filing a report before consulting you but what would I say? Hey Sahir, I overheard a conversation of yours which makes me believe that you're involved in Sameer Jays factory incident." She blurts her mind out comically with her hands for impact.
Sahir finally gives her a glance, an emotionless one but that's still progress."What conversation?" He questions confused narrowing his eyes at her.
She starts to play with a hair strand subconsciously. "The day at Sanaya and Arnavs housewarming party, I accidentally heard your conversation." She says which make Sahir flinch.
Sahir stares right into Sias honey brown eyes as if trying to make out if she is joking, her conclusion came from a phone call she didn't even totally hear. "So you connected the dots about me being involved by a conversation you had pried?" Sahir questions calmly but if looking closely his eyes are on fire, Sia nods. "Seem legit." He adds sarcastically.
He diverts back his attention to his computer and Sia stands there awkwardly while the time ticks by, she actually get the time to realize that he has an amazing view of the city from his cabin.
"Sahir! I am not standing here for fun, I want an explanation." She raises her voice at him in frustration after a couple of minutes which felt like eternity.
"I don't owe you anything, you're dismissed." Sahir says nonchalantly without even looking up.
He is rather annoyed at her judgment. "Excuse me? If you explain to me." Sahir glares at her which makes her nerves tangle. "Ok, scrap that if you tell me your version then we can end this here and I'll drop the case." She informs him with hope in her eyes.
Sahir leans back in his chair to take a good look of her. "I am good. This will be fun, I want to see how good you'll handle the pressure in court." Sahir says with venom and Sia looks taken aback. "You think that you have a chance against me? Even if I had burnt down the whole England, you wouldn't have a chance against me." Sahir informs her arrogantly not leaving her eyes.
Sia gapes at the man in front of her with open mouth. "So you did burn it down?" Sia asks disbelieving.
Sahir shrugs. "Well, you seem to know that better than me." He says and Sia gets frustrated.
"Can you stop speaking in riddles?" Sia demands and he stand up in furry which makes Sia take a step back. "Does it seem like I am enjoying this?" He says taking swift steps towards Sia.
Sias heart drums in her chest seeing the pitch black eyes of Sahir, he is enraged. He starts to walk towards her and she puts her hands forward as a bridge while walking backwards. "Please stop." Sias voice shakes.
Sia halts when feeling the door behind her and Sahir puts his hands beside her, leaning in he looks straight into her eyes. "Why are you here now?" Her nervousness is evident in her eyes which she tries to blink away. "Isn't it a tad bit late to talk about it when you've already assumed the worst of me and made my life into a spectacle?" His mint fresh breath fans Sias face, Sias heart is pumping violently which makes her a bit unfocused.
She clears her throat. "I am sorry, I just didn't realize what I was actually up to." She says and her strawberry smelling breath makes Sahir look down on her full lips unconsciously. "Just tell me once that it wasn't you." His eyes doesn't leave her lips. "Just confirm it." She says again.
Sahir forces himself to look away. He pushes himself away from Sia and smirks at her. "No, it's too late. The court will see a battle between Sahir Khan and the great Sia Malik, guess who will win?" Sahir winks mockingly.
Sias eyes starts to well up, she came here to know if he is guilty or not but is just more confused now. Without warning she turns around and walks out as she realizes that she won't get anything out of him due to his loath for her. Sahir looks at the door not so surprised and slams a fist at his table.
Sia jumps into the dark blue car waiting for her beside the road. "What happened?" Sagar asks worried, being the concerned older brother he is, seeing Sias state.
"Take me to the police station." Sia orders Sagar and his brown eyes seem confused.
"Why? If Sahir was rude tell me, I can speak to him." Sagar tries and Sia shakes her head.
"Just do as I say." She demands bubbling with mixed emotions.
"Are you sure about this?" Carl ask her one last time which Sia nods to, she is dead sure.
The next morning Sahir is already located in his study room waiting for his lawyers to come. He haven't been able to sleep well at all due to anxiety. He'll get prepared for the case making sure to not lose the battle which is in one day. He will show Sia the result of messing with him. Sahir mother walks in to the study. "I've sent your lawyers back." She says and puts a tray of breakfast beside him.
Sahir furrows his eyebrows. "Why?" He questions perplexed. "Thanks." He adds quickly for the pancakes with different toppings and glasses of drinks.
"Well." Mrs. Khan hands him the morning papers. "I guess you can say this is a sunny day." She smiles while Sahir gazes at the headline confused.
"She took it back?" He asks perplexed, not believing it.
He didn't think she would get so easily scared of his threats yesterday. She usually doesn't back down. "I don't know but thank God." Mrs. Khan interrupts Sahirs thinking. "I hate public court cases." She says relieved.
Sia walks down gloomily, looking and feeling like a zombie with her baby pink night gown dragging behind her. Sighing she sits down on the couch and starts the television, everyone else is at work while Soumya is in school. Browsing through the channels she finds a news channel and halts there while she goes to make breakfast.
After making a salami sandwich and pouring a glass of orange juice she walks back into the quite living room with only small sounds from the television. Putting everything down she increases the volume and takes a bite from her sandwich.
The news shifts to Sahir which makes Sia alert and relived that the mistake she did will end now. The reason she changed her mind is because she actually don't believe that Sahir can do something like that, he was too calm for being a culprit. The other reason is that she doesn't want to bring in her family to the medias attention when she knows they aren't happy with the idea.
'The latest news states that Sahir Khan have bribed Sia Malik.' Sia cough violently as a piece of her sandwich get stuck in her throat. 'The speculations says that she withdraw the case for that apparent reason.' Shit! "So much for keeping a low profile." She mutters in panic.
"What is going on? Why is reporters outside the building?" Sahirs younger sister Saafa asks.
Sahir frowns. "Reporters?" He walks to the window and sees a mob with reporters outside. Crap. "Saafa turn the television on." She does as he says and sits down on the coach, while Sahirs mother walks in at the perfect time.
The news make Sahir clench his jaws and one word leaves his mouth. "Sia." More precisely a name.
The three of them stares at the television perplexed. Sahir fumes with anger at the accusation and for Sias stupidity. He told her to not withdraw the case but no, she wanted a even bigger scandal. "I told you before, reputations takes seconds to crumble." Sahirs mother sighs tiredly. "The news has gotten more fuel now."
Sahir trembles with rage. "I am going to ruin her!" He yells frustrated running a hand through his smooth black hair.
"Sahir! It isn't her fault, the media will always add fuel to the fire. It doesn't matter what you both do it will end badly either way." His mother tries to reason with him.
"I don't care! She has to pay for this, she started it." His voice thunders and he storms out of the apartment escaping the building through the backdoor.
Sia sits devastated with her face buried in her hands. "What have I gotten myself into?" She asks herself sobbing. "Sahir will not spare me this time. His reputation means everything to him." She leans back on the couch with her knees to her chest. "Forget Sahir, my family will kill me." She mumbles to herself.
Taking a glance at the time she decides to take a shower and get rid of her feeling of being hopeless. A glance at her cellphone makes her startled, she had put it on silence mode and in the past twelve hours she has revived more than twenty calls and ninety-nine plus messages. Putting it away, without unlocking the screen, she gets into the shower to deal with the world later.
Driving when angry have always been Sahirs therapy. In full speed he drives around the city feeling an adrenaline rush. This is why he loves cars with speed, he has five cars in his garage for different occasions and moods. Right now he is driving his silver grey colored Hennessy Venom GT.
Sias escape from her own thoughts and from the disaster is her work place. Working evening today she finds herself rather peaceful, she's even enjoying her work and is not happy with how the time is flying today. Knowing that she has to confront her family today after her shift is making her giddy.
At closing hour she lets her ginger coworker leave. "Mia, you are an amazing coworker and deserve to finish earlier. I can fix the rest and prepare for tomorrow." Mia shines up.
"Are you sure?" She asks exalted as she has a party to join contrary to Sias boring life for the moment.
Sia chuckles. "Yes, I need to venture my thoughts anyway." Sia want to stay behind a bit longer today so she can delay the confrontation at home.
She has ignored her mobile completely for the whole day. Closing the cashier she hears footsteps. "We're closed." She says before looking up.
With wide eyes and panic hugging her tightly she looks into Sahirs cold intimidating eyes. "I know." He says with deep cold voice.
All the color drains from Sia as she is completely alone with him and she knows that he is here for a purpose. He can't be happy about the outcome of her withdrawal of the case. Heck, nothing seems to go right for her. "Good, the door is there and I need to close the shop." She says with shaky voice and breaks the eye contact.
His posture seems to be calculated. "Great, because I am here to speak to you." He says composed but highly alert.
Sias heart makes it hard for her to even comprehend what he is saying. "No, I mean I have work. It will take time for me to finish and as you're a busy man I am sure you have more important things by your sleeves." She rants without thinking straight.
Sahir raises his eyebrows as asking if she is sane. "I am not going without having spoken to you." He says and leans on the counter.
"Your loss." She says and starts to walk around in the drugstore aimlessly.
She takes down products from the shelves to rearrange them even though it wasn't even necessary. Sahir rolls his eyes at her actions and observes her in silence leaning against the cashier.
He sneaks up to her from behind when she shifts to another shelf and takes a grip of both of her hands from behind which makes her gasp. "I don't think you need to take down anymore shelf. They're all neat and in place." Sahir whispers into her ears which sends shiver down Sias spine.
Sahir had forgotten how good Sia smelled and which effect she has on him. He leaves her hands which drops to her sides and takes a step back as his own heart starts to beat faster. Sia turns around to face him with nervousness. "What is it?" She asks now with a strength she didn't think was there.
Sahir fixes his eyes in hers and thinks before answering. He has taken a decision after thinking through the whole day. "Close the store then we'll talk." He says and Sia nods annoyed.
Closing the store and leaving with him, the cold dark night with all its glory welcomes them. They both keep walking by the footpath in a surprisingly comfortable silence. They both are lost in thoughts, Sia suddenly halts looking left and right. The area is as always empty. "Where are we going?" She asks and doesn't let Sahir answer. "Just tell me what the matter is now." Sia demands crossing her arms.
Sahir frowns at her antics. "Well, you have just taken a step further in the direction to ruin my reputation and peace of mind." He spits out. "I am being accused of bribing!" He enlightens her and his hands turn into fists.
Sia sighs. "I know and if you want I can go out with a statement about that it is all a lie." She suggests tired of all the sudden drama.
"Oh please, you just want to make it worse don't you? You have been planning all this like the attention seeker you are." Sia flinches as Sahirs words kicks her in the stomach. "Your fifteen minutes of fame will cost me my entire establishment." He continues and Sia zones out after his harsh remarks.
She never wanted attention or fame. This kind of fame wouldn't even do her any good, what did he think she was? Rage starts to pump in her veins. "You're disgusting." Sia blurts out staring right into his eyes.
Sahir keeps an neutral expression even though her words seem to crawl through his skin. "When you already could think the worst of me, it is time to actually show you the worst of me. You're going to restore my reputation and end this drama once and for all. You're going to marry me." Sahir declares proudly and Sia looks at him startled.
Sia stares baffled at Sahir to then start to laugh clutching on to her stomach. "OMG." She says between her laughs. "I didn't know that you watch Indian dramas." She wipes away a tear from the corner of her eye composing herself.
Sahir stands there rigid, he was being serious and have thought a lot about it. He wants Sia.
"Does it look like I am joking or have the time to joke?" He asks her sternly and Sia look back surprised searching for a hint of fun in his eyes.
When realizing that he isn't joking, she obviously snaps. "Have you lost it? What good would that do?" She asks baffled at his suggestion.
"Your wings will be cut and my revenge will be fulfilled. I'll get a chance to show you the outcome of messing with my reputation." He says proudly.
"You're sick! So whenever a girl comes around and does something which you don't like or approve of you're going to end up marrying her?" she asks with a grimace disgusted.
"No, I am doing this to you because you're the only girl that have from day one messed with me and I am sure will continue to destroy my peace of mind. So it is better to keep you with me then letting you pull such nasty tricks." Sia can't comprehend his foreign words, but at the same time they hit her like bullets. "I am sure you have heard the saying 'keep your friends close but enemies closer'?" He mockingly smirks.
Sia shakes her head disgusted and turns around. She isn't going to stand her even a second more listening to this maniac. Walking fiercely with Sahir quickly behind her he grabs her arm and turns her around. "Leave me!" She yells at him and his grip on Sias arm tightens.
His smirk doesn't fade away and Sia controls the urge to slap him. He leans in to her left ear with a smile. "You have no choice Sia." He whispers softly which leaves Sia startled.
Sia looks on horrified when he leans back and tries to loosen his grip from his arm by her other hand. "Have you lost your mind?" She asks him with a frown. "I am not marrying you." She says firmly and tries to get of Sahirs iron grip with tears pricking her eyes.
Sahir laughs humorlessly. "You're not going to marry me?" He asks her and she shakes her head with anger evident. "Then." He suddenly pulls her close to him so no air can pass through them, he tucks her hair behind her ear making Sia shiver and comes close so his lips are an inch away from hers. "You don't leave me with a choice, I'll ruin your precious family." He whispers and Sias eyes widens and she snaps her head up meeting his amused dark eyes.
Sahir nods slightly with a smile etched to his lips. "You wouldn't." Sia says disbelieving and search for something in his eyes, not knowing what to exactly expect from him. "You're joking, right?" Her voice falters as a breeze of air catches her hair.
He smirks and pushes her away from him and she stumbles back. "Well the joke is on you. I surely will." Sia shakes her head with tears threatening to leave her eyes.
With a hoarse voice Sia starts speaking. "I am sorry for misunderstanding the conversation, I am sorry for doubting you but I promise I didn't intend to hurt you or your family. I was just doing what I thought was right. Please don't." Sahir doesn't let her finish.
"Cut the crap!" He snaps and his face turns serious. "You did what was right? You could have at least asked me? Once." The hurt evident in his eyes makes Sias guilt claw her inside.
"I am sorry." Sia pleads. "But please just leave me and my family alone."
"No, I am going to make you sorry." Sahir grins. "So we're getting married wether you want it or not. How are you feeling soon to be Mrs. Khan?" He adds with a mocking voice.
Sia snaps at that. "Sahir! Marriage is not a joke! It is based on love, honesty and trust. Marriage means you have found your partner, the partner your soul is connected to. It's a lifelong commitment if not longer. One soul, two bodies." She tries to knock some sense into him.
He just chuckles. "Then be prepared for heaven on earth." He starts to laugh hard holding his stomach. "Sorry, sorry, I guess it will be hell for you." He teases and Sia stares at Sahir as if seeing the devil himself.
With mixed feelings she stands there as a statue. "This is just a nightmare, my alarm clock is going to wake me up anytime now." She assures herself by hugging herself and a car drives past them.
For a second Sahirs eyes softens but he masks them with the anger he is containing. "You didn't answer me? How are you feeling?" he asks her with a fake smile.
Sia looks up at him now. "You're sick! What the heck is wrong with you?" She yells at him horrified.
Sahirs eyes turns a shade darker if possible and clenches his jaw. Swallowing hard he looks intensely right into her eyes. "Don't raise your voice at me. Don't mess with me. I am dead serious. We're getting married within a week." He points at her. "You're doing." He points at himself. "As I order or else your lovely family will pay for it." Sia frowns.
"You can't fall so low." She whispers. "I won't be your puppet, I don't care about your threats." She says and turns around to walk away.
She can feel Sahir on her heels and as déjà vu he grabs her arm to turn her around. "You just made my life easier." He smirks and drags Sia all the way to his car while Sia make resistance.
Pushing her inside he takes the drivers seat and drives of. Sia sits quietly with her heart in her throat as fast as he is driving. It's like he wants to attempt suicide or murder. After a decent ten minutes drive he stops by Mr. Maliks restaurant aka Sias dads.
Sia looks at him knowing that this is not going to end well. Sahir catches her eyes and genuinely smiles at her feeling a stinging feeling in his chest, knowing that what he is going to do next will be defining him as an asshole.
He walks out of the car before he can change his mind. The hurt he felt knowing that she could think so low of him made him hate her. Beyond words, she has always been a brat for him but this proved it.
He opens the car door at the passenger seat. "Get out madam." Sahir orders mockingly.
Sia breathes heavily and takes nervous steps out of the car. "What are we doing here?" She asks Sahir confused. The restaurant isn't even open.
Sahir smiles at her before walking towards the back of his car. Opening the trunk he takes out a heavy bottle containing some liquid. "Thanks for making this so easy, I won't be just ruining you but your whole family." Sahir smiles giving Sia the creeps.
He walks towards the restaurant and opens the bottle. When he starts to sprinkle it on the restaurant it clicks for Sia. She gasps realizing what Sahir is up to. Running towards him she gets hold of his arm. "Stop it!" She screams with tears streaming down her face. "Give me the bottle." Failing to take the bottle from him she starts to sob with her hands still around his arm.
Sahir looks away. "Why are you crying? You won't be marrying me, the pyromaniac." Sahir mocks and takes out a matchbox from his pocket.
"Stop it, please stop it!" She whisper yells. "I am ready to marry you." Her voice gives up.
"No, that won't be as much fun as ruining your prestigious fathers hard work. Please don't do that." He teases her and she glares at him. "Ok, as you wish." Sahir looks at a devastated Sia and a overwhelming feeling suffocates him.
Sia leaves her grip from his arm and strengthens up. "So, what now?" She asks emotionless, her honey brown eyes all gloomy.
"Well, the deal will obviously be between my revenge and your priceless wings." Sahir says with authority as if sealing a deal.
Sia looks up at him and try to comprehend the fact that this is Sahir. "Tell me something that I don't know." She says dismissing her turmoil inner with raspy voice.
Sahir smirks. "You're going to propose to me." He informs and she frowns.
"And how's that?" She asks instead of arguing.
"You're going to tell your parents that you want to marry me. Then you will come to my place and you all will beg me to marry you." He says looking at Sia intensely.
Sia bores her eyes into his emotionlessly. "You have really lost your mind." She states boldly. "You're sick. You're just sick." Sahir smirks which makes Sia instantly regret her choice of words.
"Yes I have." He says and turns around. Giving Sia his back he lights a match and slowly turns to show her the lit match.
"No!" She screams at the top of her lungs while he slowly but adamant throws the match to the oily ground.
Sia turns around not being able to face the destruction of her fathers hard work and falls to the ground with tears streaming down her face. Her chest feels heavy and she can barely breath. She looks up at the night black sky as if accusing it for her suffering. Looking to the ground again she sits there silently crying with the wind cooling her down. Seeing two pairs of legs beside her she doesn't look up knowing who they belong to. "Turn around." He demands and she frowns. "I said turn around." He grabs her by her arm and pulls her up.
When on her feet she gasp while he turns her around. Assuming the worst the scenario in front of her surprises her. The match is in the pool of liquid but extinct. The white building is standing tall without a scratch. "How's that possible?" She whispers.
"That was just a teaser. The bottle contained water but if you back of from the deal the nightmare you just saw will turn into reality." He says warningly.
"I'll do as you say if you promise me to never hurt my family." Sia says with a sour throat.
Sahir chuckles. "I promise. It is you who I want to torture and not your family. They're just a pawn to get to you." He explains with a smirk as if it is not a big deal at all.
