I ran as fast as I could. I just had to get to the pack house where I knew my dad had his office. Before I opened the door to the pack house I sent a prayer to the moon goddess that my father would be in a good mood, or at least good enough, because I was going to ask crazy things from him. Starting with the wish that we make an appearance at the Dark Oak Pack and that he would pretend that I was in fact not his daughter but instead the newest member of the deltas, the healers.
Doubts filled my mind, I shook my head trying to get rid of them. These thoughts had absolutely no space in my head right now. Squaring my shoulders I opened the front door and found my way to my fathers office, where I again halted. Would he find my plan genius and fun or would he command me to drop this foolishness? I didn't know, and perhaps that was the scariest part.
"Victoria, do come in, or were you planning on standing outside my office door for a while longer?," my dads voice came from inside.
Seeing no other choice I pushed down the handle and stepped through the door. My fathers office was simple and neat, he was a very organized person and liked everything to be tidy. The only decoration in his study were drawings and crafts of the children of the pack as well as pictures. Behind him was a huge portrait of my mom, my sister and I, he had one painted every other year. 'Behind a great man, stands a great partner,' he always said, 'and that partner happens to be your mom for me.'
"How can I help you?," he asked, going back to his work and noting something down, I fumbled with my hands.
"So I'm sure you've heard that my mate turned me down," I began and he only hummed, I knew he was feeling sour because of it, "and I wanted to ask if we could go and visit his pack," he was now looking at me, confusion as well as curiousness in his eyes, "and I was wondering if you would be willing to pretend that I am in fact not your daughter, but rather a part of the deltas."
For a while he didn't say anything, I knew he was thinking about my words. He looked at me and having nothing to hide I looked right back at him. His eye color changed, his wolf had taken over for some reason, but I didn't mind it. After all it was still my father in front of me.
He nodded, sighed and then cleared his throat, "I'm assuming you have a plan," I nodded once, "Good. I'll hear you out and only change something if it might reflect negatively on the pack," I smiled at that, never would I have thought that my dads wolf of the two of them would have agreed so readily to whatever I had planned.
My dads amber green eyes changed their color again, this time back to brown, "Well now that my wolf has already decided to support you, I can't possibly go against my daughter," he chuckled, "I trust you'll make a good and thought through plan, you are a daughter of mine after all."
"Thank you dad," I rounded his desk to hug him.
"I'll send you the plan as soon as I'm done with it," and with that I left his office, he had work to do and so did I.

Tired I plopped down onto my bed. To say it had been an eventful day was a bit of an understatement. Still I somehow felt alright with the situation and almost excited to what was to come. Thinking and writing down ideas for my next steps, time flew quick. I wasn't too worried, after all my father was going to help me with the execution of my plan to win this mate-thing.
I am going to bring you down, just you wait.
I stared at my ceiling for some time, waiting for sleep to come get me, to put its hand over my eyes and make me drift off, but no. No hands luring me into the darkness, no cloud, no wave, nothing, just me and my blank thoughts in my room. Bored I decided to head downstairs and do something productive if I already couldn't sleep. Since the meeting with the other pack, the Dark Oak Pack, was scheduled in two days I would have plenty of time to make my lie believable and so I decided to text Xander to brainstorm with him. Of course he didn't answer, it was quite late, like a glance at the kitchen clock told me, 12:38. I should go to bed.
'Why did you reject our mate back?', a quiet voice in my head rose up.
'Why? Because he rejected us first and because he was being an ass, but don't worry we will be spending quite the amount of time with him', I smiled to myself.
'We will make him regret his decision of rejecting us. I guess we'll have to see what to do with the girlfriend too. And we need to figure out what the deal with Xander is and why he's helping us', my wolf just hummed at that and then disappeared into the shadow of my mind again.
"Victoria?," my dad asked, he must have just gotten home.
He poked his head through the kitchen door before he fully entered, "Why are you still up? Couldn't sleep?," I only nodded, "Anything in particular bothering you?"
"Thinking about what I'm gonna do once we go to the pack," now it was his time to nodd, "What do you think the Alpha of their pack will think?," I asked him while he opened the refrigerator and got out some oat milk.
"Well," he started and switched the boiler on, to cook himself some water, "I'm guessing he will want to have a talk with both of you. He might even go as far as demanding you stay for a few days to try and get you two to 'reconcile' and get together basically."
I grimaced at that thought but nodded, he was right, "And you would just leave me with them?," he sighed at my question, "Well if you were my pack member then not necessarily but it would be benefitial, after all mates tend to have better offspring and better bonds," he explained and I could only internally groan. I didn't want to stay with him in his pack.
"Alright," I streched, "I'll go to bed now, see you in the morning, love you," I muttered and went up to my room.
