The next few days, Sooho texted her like crazy, until it died down. For a whole day. He didn't text her at all. Yoojin thought it was normal for the playful boy, so she didn't linger on it. Instead, she enjoyed the afternoon at a dog café with Wooyoung. Yoojin adored puppies and would always play around with Huiyeon's puppy when she went to her house.

They ate some sandwiches and Wooyoung ordered a mint chocolate shake while Yoojin ordered a chocolate one.

"Mint chocolate as always?" Yoojin raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you have it today at school?"

"Don't be a hater," Wooyoung said as he sipped his drink.

"You know I'm not. I just prefer the original."

Yoojin didn't mind mint chocolate but one of her favourite flavours was chocolate. She was a simple girl and, in a way, that's what Wooyoung liked about her. She wasn't full of drama like the annoying teenage girls in their class and she wasn't too boring like the nerds. That was how they matched each other well – he could genuinely appreciate her sweet, energetic personality, and she could handle his complicated and hidden thoughts.

Once they had finished eating, they sat on the floor in the other room, playing with the adorable puppies. There were two medium ones and three small ones. The little, white puppy barked while darting around Yoojin.

"I can't believe you dragged me here," the boy whined.

The two medium puppies yapped at Wooyoung, their tiny paws stampeding across his lap. He awkwardly tried to pat them, causing Yoojin to giggle.

"You know you don't have to do what I ask," Yoojin said cheekily.

"I know, but I'll always do whatever you say," Wooyoung flirted.

"Even if I asked you to get me a puppy?"

"Ya, do you know how much work you have to do to look after a puppy? You're always busy with school or work and your parents are busy too."

"Fine. I won't get a puppy," the girl sulked.

Her frown didn't last long when the white puppy jumped into her lap. She hugged the puppy, patting his soft fur. Wooyoung melted at the sight of his happy girlfriend, and he felt extremely lucky to have her.

"But aren't they so adorable? Look how cute he is," Yoojin exclaimed, nuzzling her face against the puppy's. "We should just come here every time we finish exams. This is definitely a good reward from all that studying and stress."

Yoojin ranked near the middle of the class while Wooyoung ranked a bit below her. They weren't bad at studying, but they had other dreams with their life that they believed they could both achieve, and they pushed each other well.

"Sure, we can do that. And for the winter holiday, let's go travelling for a long time. We could even go overseas," Wooyoung suggested.

Yoojin nodded excitedly. Were things really going this well? Maybe Wooyoung would stop beating people up for money soon and fight professionally.

They discussed their favourite countries – America, Japan and France – bouncing off each other well. Simultaneously, Yoojin enjoyed teaching him the best way to touch the puppies. After obsessing over the puppies for a while, they exited the café and Yoojin suddenly got a phone call from Youngyi.

"Yoojin," the other girl sniffled. "Seokdae - Seokdae was arrested."

"What?"

Yoojin knew things were too good to be true.

"What's going on? Where are you right now?" the long-haired girl questioned calmly.

Wooyoung stood there, looking at her worryingly. On the other end of the line, Youngyi struggled to control her tears.

"We're at the police station. I'll explain everything when you get here. Seokdae didn't do anything bad though. He didn't but he's hurt," Youngyi cried.

Yoojin told her to calm down and said that she'd be there soon. She hung up and with Wooyoung by her side, they quickly took a taxi to the police station. Yoojin knew her cousin wouldn't do anything bad, but it didn't mean that he didn't get involved with bad people.

The station was full of guys, mostly thugs who were shouting. In the corner, Seokdae sat in silence with Youngyi and Youngbin stressing. Yoojin immediately ran up to them, asking what happened. They explained the situation and how Sooho and his friends already left for the hospital. The gang who had blackmailed Seokdae and heaps of other people with their app got caught and there was a huge fight. Seokdae had to finish up some things there and then he went to get checked up at the hospital too. Youngyi watched him go, her face full of worry.

"He'll be fine," Yoojin assured her. "You know how strong he is."

Youngyi nodded absentmindedly. The other girl hugged her, knowing that Youngyi had feelings for Seokdae. They would just have to wait and see what the police decided for Seokdae. Hopefully, he'll be okay and everything will be smooth sailing from now on.

Youngyi decided to go to the hospital. The other three went to Yoojin and Youngbin's place. Yoojin played with the ends of her hair. Then, Wooyoung laced his fingers with Yoojin's other hand in a comforting gesture. She was too preoccupied to worry about Youngbin watching.

Her twin saw and his heart was satisfied. Truthfully, he already suspected that they were dating for a long time, and he wanted to say something, but he decided to let them be.  He was against it at the start but now, if anyone was to date his sister, he was glad that it was Wooyoung. He trusted the guy and knew that he could protect her, although he wished he wouldn't cause as much trouble. If anything happened to her, Youngbin would beat them up, even if it was his friend.

Wooyoung left soon after and Youngbin made dinner for Yoojin. Later, she found out that Youngyi was staying at Sooho's house and Seokdae was being released. A few days after moving in, Youngyi kept begging Yoojin to visit, so the girl couldn't refuse.

"Wow, you're got a lovely house, Mrs Ahn," Yoojin said when Sooho's mum ushered her in.

The old lady thanked her and went to do some cooking. Yoojin wandered about, observing the place. Next to the kitchen, the living room was cosy, and the bedrooms were off to the right. The beige walls were decorated with pictures of Sooho, an adorable toddler that made Yoojin chuckle.

"Welcome to my humble abode," Youngyi spread her arms out in a flourish.

The two girls hugged tightly. Beside Youngyi, Sooho sighed. He had just come out of his bedroom and was wearing casual tracksuits and a t-shirt.

"She seriously acts like this is her house already," Sooho complained to Yoojin, who responded with a laugh.

They toured the house while talking about school. It was no surprise to Yoojin that Sooho was last in the class – a fact that Youngyi loved to tease him about. Then, they decided to go to the nearby coin karaoke.

"Beomseok's not free today but I'll ask Sieun," Sooho said, sending a text to the small boy.

Beomseok must be the other boy, thought Yoojin. The last of the trio that she didn't get a chance to speak to. From what she remembered, he was tall with a long face and big glasses. She heard that he transferred recently from another high school.

The three met up with Sieun at the coin karaoke and they started choosing songs. They were like the debut group of a survival show – they had only recently met but their chemistry was already flaring, and they were quite talented in the entertainment sense. For Yoojin's second song, she decided to perform 'Love Me' by BE'O.

"Wow, you're really good at that song!" Sooho exclaimed, sharing a high-five. "You know all the words."

Yoojin blushed, thinking of a certain someone.

After their partying for fun, they headed their separate ways. It was an enjoyable night and Yoojin learnt that Sieun was quiet but nice, and perfect to control Sooho's tension. And although she had enough excitement for a while, she found herself at a club the next night. She hadn't been to one since middle school graduation, but her parents were out and told her to go wherever her brother went. Though, she mainly went to keep Wooyoung company.

"You okay?" Yoojin asked her boyfriend.

The flashing lights and smell of alcohol kept her alert. They were cuddling together on the couches in the quiet area, which wasn't too quiet since the DJ's remix still bounced around them. Youngbin was off somewhere with his friends.

When Wooyoung got a text from someone, his demeanour turned sour, his eyes showing a ticking time bomb. It was as if someone just showed him a picture of his boxing gym burned to the ground by his mother.

"What were you doing yesterday?" Wooyoung questioned grimly.

"Yesterday, I went to coin karaoke with my friends," Yoojin said truthfully.

She hadn't told Wooyoung about her new group and she didn't see why she had to. Perhaps he would get unreasonably jealous if he heard about Sooho and how much he put his arm around her shoulders despite her protests. Sooho just seemed to be the guy who showed his affection through skinship. Was there something wrong with yesterday?

"With Ahn Sooho?" Wooyoung's voice was sharp as a knife laced with poison.

Yoojin bit her lips, wondering how he knew the other boy – and why he seemed to despise him. After a scary pause, she nodded. The look in her boyfriend's eyes sent a chill down her spine. She had seen that look many times before, but she had never been on the receiving end. He got angry easily but was more of the quiet angry type.

"Don't hang out with him," Wooyoung simply said.

"Why?" she decided to be bold. "You can't just tell me what to do like that. How do you even know him?"

With a sigh, Wooyoung explained roughly, "He's an annoying guy who always fights."

"That can't just be it. You said his name as if he was Thanos. Is he your rival or something?" Yoojin pried.

She respected that everyone deserved to have secrets, but they've always told each other everything. Clearly, it was a touchy subject, but she wanted to help and know him better. She just wanted him to know that he could lean on her shoulder when things get tough.

"Fine. He beat me, okay? The only boxer who ever beat me. Happy?" Wooyoung spat out.

He stormed out of the club, the girl chasing after him through the crowded dance floor, weaving through the sweaty bodies. She called out his name but he didn't listen. They made it outside to the cold night air and quiet street, where Yoojin grabbed his arm to turn him around. His jaw was tensed like the atmosphere around them. She stared up at him, feeling bad. Her heart was at war with itself.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know," she apologised. "But that still doesn't mean you can control who I talk to and who I don't talk to. He's a really nice guy and I want to still be friends with him – he hasn't actually even done anything wrong."

"I know what he's like. I don't want him touching you. Does he know you have a boyfriend?" Wooyoung asked.

Yoojin thought for a second. It surprisingly hadn't popped up in conversation, except for when he asked if she was dating Youngbin or Seokdae's crew at the start. Of course, she had been firm to Sooho that she wasn't interested in him. Another thing that hadn't appeared in conversation was the fact that Yoojin was Youngbin's brother – she reminded herself to tell him that later.

"Are you serious?" Wooyoung was appalled. "You haven't told him that you have a boyfriend? So, this guy can flirt with you and touch you all he wants."

He ran his hand through his messy hair. Wooyoung didn't know how to handle this annoying situation.

"I told him that I don't like him romantically. And I know I should've told him – I'm sorry. But I promise I'll tell him the next time I see him that I'm dating someone," Yoojin responded.

Wooyoung groaned, throwing his head back. "Why can't you just avoid him?"

"It's not your business who I hang out with. You can't tell me what to do."

"Can't you consider my feelings too? How would you feel if I was friends with a hot girl you hate, huh? I swear, I'm going to kill Sooho."

Overwhelmed with guilt and stress, Yoojin hugged him, rubbing his back. She slightly understood where he was coming from. This was their biggest fight, and she wasn't sure what to do. Although she was angry at him, he was mad at her too and she wanted to stop the lighting and thunder. Yoojin softly kissed along Wooyoung's jaw, which always made him tingle. She felt his sigh through his chest.

"You can't just do that all the time to end an argument," Wooyoung mumbled.

"And you can't just kill people all the time or throw your anger on me," Yoojin stepped back. "Let's just end this fight, okay? I don't want you to hate me."

"I could never hate you."

"Then, you'll let me be friends with Sooho?"

"Do you really have to? I don't want you to," Wooyoung gritted his teeth.

"You can't control me. I promise I won't let him touch me at all and I'll let him know that I'm dating you. I'll tell you if anything ever happens, okay?" Yoojin persuaded strongly with emphasis. "Come on. You know I love you and only you."

Wooyoung wanted to say more, but he didn't want to be on bad blood with her. He nodded and kissed her. A bittersweet movement that hardly touched. If Sooho even dared to brush against Yoojin for a mere second, Wooyoung swore to break all his bones. As if Yoojin could read his mind, her lips turned down. She went home frustrated, needing to calm her mind.
