SHREYA'S POV

Three months have passed and my stomach has grown big too. My skin is glowing like anything. Atharva is happy and excited about the baby more than me. He has planned everything the way he is going to welcome the baby. My mood swings a lot and he is dealing with my moods very well.

But where is he? It is 30 minutes past 8 but he hasn't returned yet. He always waits for his work to get over so that he can spend his time at home with us.

My mind drifted to the day when we won the case in court. Atharva was against it but I decided to give the punishment to the real culprit. My husband has spent many years in jail for a crime that he never committed. I decided to reopen the case and collected all the witnesses. Prem helped me a lot. Although that woman is his mother but he doesn't like her even one percent. I also asked Madhu Masi to tell the truth in the court to which she agreed happily. Her daughter also told about the day when she was kidnapped and threatened. Reopening and fighting the case was a little tough but in the end, we won and Anika is now behind the bars for her entire life. She was trying to leave the country now she can't even leave the jail.

The doorbell rang. He is back!

He placed his bag on the table and sat on his knees in front of me and kissed my stomach.

"How is my caterpillar?" He asked to my stomach.

"Hehe...it is fine. It was just waiting for the father's return. Why were you thirty minutes late?"

"Oh No! Nothing. I am just coming then we will have dinner together"

"One minute. Is everything fine? You didn't kissed me today" I put my hands on my waist.

"Oh yes!"

"Hmm"

He moistened his lips and he was looking nervous.

"Why are you acting so weird. It is not the first time we are kissing"

"Umm..yeah"

I opened my arms for him. He came to me with slow steps. He was about to kiss me when I got his reason for not coming close to me. I took a step back immediately.

"You are drunk"

He gulped.

"Why? You know I don't like that. Doctors have strictly told you to stop drinking or your internal organs will be damaged. Don't you love me and your baby?"

"It was an informal meeting. I took only one - two sips because when I was not drinking everyone was looking at me as I have grown two horns on my head."

"I Don't know anything. Don't talk to me"

I showed him my hand to stop him at his place and moved to our new room. Yes, Atharva has shifted our room on the ground floor for a few months because there was a risk of me doing up and down with a baby.

"Please try to understand butterfly"

I showed him my back.

"Sorry! I won't repeat it"

"You always do this. You say sorry for your deeds and then you again repeat it"

"This time I won't. I promise"

He sat on his knees.

"Please say your momma not to get mad at me"

"It is also angry with you" I folded my hands and turned to the other side.

"Ok! So what would you take to forgive me?"

He rubbed his chin

"chocolates?"

I thought for some time and then turned to the other side.

"No!"

"Icecream?"

My mouth watered but I won't lose it like this.

"No!"

I turned again to show him my back.

"Dinner on your favorite roadside stall?" My stomach churned listening to his words.

"Look baby is also saying yes!" He said happily.

"Ok, but we will have pani puri too, and we include you too"

I giggled. He narrowed his eyes at me and after a minute he said ok.

"And one more thing, we will go on the bike"

"Aren't you taking the wrong advantage of me?"

"No! Absolutely not. This is not me this is your caterpillar who is asking for all this"

He chuckled.

"Ok...come on"

I sat on the backside and put my hands on his shoulder.

"Thoda pass aao or kas k pakdo (come closer and hold me tightly)" I did as he said.

When we reached there I ate everything which I was missing for months. He was looking at me like I have just returned from the zoo.

"Shut up and eat your food silently" I scolded him.

"But I didn't said anything. Did I?"

"You said in your mind"

"Oh! So now you can read minds too"

"Yes of course! Don't forget that I am carrying two brains at the moment"

"Indeed!"

We laughed and I finished my food and left some space for Pani Puri.

"Please forgive me. But I can't have them" he said pointing at the pani puri.

"Should we forget your father baby?" I asked looking down at my stomach.

I waited for a few seconds.

"NO?"

"Ok, so your caterpillar is saying no. You have to eat it if you want us to forgive you"

"Two plates please" he ordered

"Three plates please" I corrected him.

"Three?" He asked

"One" I pointed at him

"Two" I pointed at myself

"Three" I pointed at my stomach.

He smiled and shook his head in disbelief.

"How could you eat it. It is so spicy" he said after eating one piece.

"Muh bnd karke khao (eat silently)"

He shut his mouth and ate while making 36 types of faces. I was not able to control my giggles. The man who orders 100s of people on daily basis listens to my commands like anything.

We moved to the ice cream stall as it was too spicy for him and he was not able to tolerate it.

"Two or three?" He asked me

"Two. Baby is full" I chuckled.

"Ok"

We took our ice creams and walk on the side of the road. Evenings are always beautiful. Everything was so serene.

"If any of my employees see me here on the road what would he think?" He asked me

"Oh, no Atharva. For God sake stop being a boss all the time. At present, you are just a normal husband and a father"

He chuckled.

"I want my baby girl to be just like you," he said while applying little ice cream on my nose. I wiped it.

"How could you say that it is a baby girl. It can be a baby boy too"

"Your beauty has doubled that means you are carrying a girl"

"Wow! What a logic!" I clapped for him in sarcasm.

"I want a baby girl and that's enough"

"But I want a baby boy," I said

"But we will have a girl," he said

"A boy," I said

"Girl"

"Boy"

"Girl"

"Boy"

"Girl"

"Boy"

And it goes like that until we reached home and drifted into a deep sleep.

"Stop being so fucking beautiful. It wants me to take you again and again"

I glared at him.

"That's true, motherhood suits you. I would prefer to make you pregnant every year"

I gave him a death glare and he chuckled.

"Ok, sorry" he raised his hands in surrender and I continued with my food.

It is our first anniversary. It is the same day when I signed those marriage papers. I thought that it would be the unluckiest day of my life but now I think of it as the luckiest one. We have gone through many ups and downs in just one year but I hope that now our relationship goes smooth. After finishing the food we cut the cake together.

"Happy wedding anniversary butterfly"

"Happy wedding anniversary kukkad"

He chuckled and captured my lips into a deep kiss. It was slow and passionate. He then kissed my forehead and make me sit on a chair in front of the mirror.

He opened a box and took out a necklace from it. He slid it on my neck and kissed its lock. It was very beautiful.

"It is looking wonderful on you"

I looked in his eyes through the mirror and there was nothing else than pure love.

"Ahh, oh my God"

"What happened?" He said while sitting on his knees.

"I guess your caterpillar loved it. It just kicked"

"What?" He asked in excitement.

He put my kurta aside to look at my stomach. I also looked down.

He kissed and purred on my stomach as a result the baby kicked again.

He became excited and repeated it again and again.

"Stop it Atharva, " I said while giggling.

He whined and pouted. I bent down to kiss his pouted lips.

"Time for your surprise," I said

"My surprise?"

"Yes, come with me"

I took him to the room which was burnt by Anika.

"Why are we here?" He asked me

"Shhh...have patience"

I opened the door, made him stand in the middle of the room, and turned on the lights. He turned to look around the room in amaze. His lips were parted and eyes were wide indicating me how much he loved it.

"What, why, how?"

He came to me.

"I mean when did you...."

"When you were in the office busy with your work," I said interrupting his question.

I have renovated his room and have decorated it in the same way his mother decorated it for him. I took the help of Madhu Masi.

"From now on your baby will stay here"

He moved towards his toys that were half burnt. I renovated them too as much as I can.

"They are my toys"

"Yes and now your caterpillar will play with them"

He took one doll and carried it like a baby.

"What are you doing?" I asked him

"I am practicing the way I am going to hold my baby" I chuckled.

His eyes were shining. He again looked around.

"I am not getting one thing," he said

"What?"

"Why are there two small beds? I don't think that this small bed would be fit for us" He asked

"You know Atharva you are an idiot." I chuckled.

He looked at me dumbfounded.

"Because they are two," I said pointing to my stomach.

"What? Really?"

He jumped in his place. I nodded.

"You don't know how much happy you have made me today"

He took me into a tight hug and blocked my oxygen.

"Easy, easy, easy Atharva"

"Oh, sorry" he holds his ears.

"But why didn't you told me this earlier when you already knew it?"

"Just because I wanted to give you a surprise on this day"

"This is the best surprise I could have ever received"

He sat on his knees and put his hand on both sides of my stomach.

"I love you caterpillar 1" he kissed one side of my stomach.

"I love you Caterpillar 2" he kissed another side of my stomach.

"And what about the butterfly?" I asked him by putting my hands on my hips.

"I love her to the infinity," he said and kissed me.

Atharva's POV

"I will never let you touch me again" she shouted at me.

"Ok ok baby that we will see. Just calm down for now"

"Ahhh...Atharva it is paining a lot" she sobbed.

Madhu Aunty called me when I was busy with a meeting that Shreya is in labor. I left the meeting immediately to take her to the hospital.

"Do something"

She was making me hopeless and nervous. I can feel my palms and feet going numb.

"Just a few more minutes butterfly. Everything would be alright" I kissed her forehead.

"Drive fast" I ordered

Finally, we reached the hospital.

"If you want you can come in sir" Nurse said to me.

I don't think I would be able to see her in this condition but I can't leave her alone too.

"Ok"

I went in. She was crying and screaming. For the first time, her screams were not feeling good to my ears.

I stood beside her and she clutched my wrist tightly.

"Push" Doctor commanded her.

Every time she tried to push she clutched my wrist tightly digging her nails deep into my skin. Her nails pierced my skin and blood came out. But my pain is nothing in front of her. I turned my face as I was not able to see her.

And after a few minutes, I heard the voice of a baby crying. I looked to the doctor and there was a baby in her hand that was covered with blood.

"Congratulations it is a girl" Tears pricked into my eyes.

She took her somewhere and after a few minutes, I heard the crying of another baby.

"Congratulations it is a boy" I released a breath.

She took him too with her. Where are they taking my kids?

I looked at my butterfly. She was not crying now.

"Are you alright?"

She nodded. I caressed her head. She tried to sit back.

"Atharva I want to sit"

"One minute"

I rolled the bed up to make her sit. I wiped her cheeks that were stained with tears and kissed her forehead. Two nurses appeared with our babies.

I was reluctant to take the baby in my arm. They were looking so delicate. What if they jumped out of my arms?

"What happened?" Shreya asked me

"I am scared. What if they slipped from my hand or what if I hurt them unknowingly?"

She shifted on her bed and indicated me to sit beside her.

"Nothing will happen to them if they are in the embrace of their father," she said while rubbing my shoulder.

The nurse gave me the girl and she gave the boy to Shreya. I was just looking at them. They were so little and soft. They were sleeping and there was a little pout on their pink lips.

"Her nose is just like yours," Shreya said

"And his lips are just like yours"

There were tears of happiness in her eyes. My heart was just filled with contentment. I don't want anything else now.

"Arya," I said looking at my baby girl.

"Shravan," she said looking at the baby boy.

I touched my butterfly's lips with mine while joining our babies' foreheads.
