Chapter 20

I raise an eyebrow at Jason curious as to what he has to say.

"Well what is it."

"Well you see..."

He rubs the back of his head nervously before sighing.

"It's nothing."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah lets go."

On our way back home, I noticed Jason had a smug expression on his face. "Why are you so happy?" I turn his way awaiting his answer, but he shakes his head.

"It's nothing Christina, don't worry about it."

"Jason."

"Okay, I guess I'm just a little excited over the fact that Mr. Maxwell is on board with my project."

"Oh my god Jason that's amazing."

"Yeah it is but remember that you would benefit from all of this as well."

"Yeah I know, but I can tell that's not the only thing that has you smiling."

"Trust me Christina it is." I sigh and shrug my shoulder's letting go of the subject. I then remember the scene I walked into between Aiden and Jason. For some reason there seemed to be some tension in the air. I can't help but wonder what they were talking about.

"Hey Jason can I ask you a something?"

"Sure go right ahead," he said putting his phone down.

"When I found you and Aiden together, I sensed a bit of tension in the room. I just wanted to know what where you two talking about exactly?" Jason looked back down and avoided my eyes.

"We were just talking about the clothing line nothing more."

"Really?"

"Yeah why?"

"I don't know, it's just I sometimes get the feeling that you hate Aiden. You should really give him a chance, just like I gave you a chance Jason."

"Christina I don't have any problems with the kid, I just don't want to associate myself with him."

"Jason..."

"Look I don't tell you who to spend your time with so please don't tell me."

"I was just hoping you could get along with my boyfriend since we're friends but I won't pressure you." I look down and give Jason one of the sappiest faces I have ever given someone. He laughs and shakes his head in response.

"Oh my god do you really think you can break my resolve with that face." I frown and pout my lips a bit and give him some puppy dog eyes for added effect. He holds his stomach while laughing at me.

"Christina please stop I can't take much more." I stop with my silly faces and he regains his composure.

"All right if it would make you happy, I'll try to get along with him."

Jason can be immature at times, but at times has his moments. I'm happy his is willing to try to be cordial with Aiden for my sake.

"Thank you."

"No problem," he says. I notice the sparkle in his clear blue eyes, as we both stare at each other. The train pulls to a stop and we've arrived.

"Well we better get going." I break the intense eye contact we shared and get off the train. Jason and I hop into a waiting cab and head back home. We both sit in silence paying attention mostly to our phones, when it occurs to me that he hasn't told his mother about his clothing line.

"Jason I just remembered that you still haven't told your mother about your clothing line."

"Wow you're right. I have to tell her soon before she finds out from someone else."

"Would that be a problem?"

"Not really, but she would be sad that I didn't tell her or at least let her see the collection before it's released."

"Why don't you tell her tonight? I'll even come with you."

"Thanks that sounds like a plan."

We arrive back home and April welcomes us back with open arms. "Hey April what's up?"

"Nothing, well how was it?"

"How was what," I ask while being dragged to the kitchen.

"The meeting with your runway coach."

"Oh it was great actually, Ashley seems nice and I can't wait to officially work with her."

Both April and Jason turned to me. "Ashley as in Ashley Simms the supermodel," April says jumping with excitement.

"Wow you're really lucky Christina," Jason says as he walks over to the fridge to get some water. I have a seat at the breakfast nook and cock my head to the side confused, "I am?"

"Yes you are." He takes a seat next to me while picking up an apple from the fruit bowl on the counter.

"Ashley Simms is one of the best models in the world. When she is on the catwalk you can't help but give her your full attention. She knows how to bring out the true beauty of designers clothes. You're definitely in good hands."

"I'm so excited for you," April says while hugging me. I pat her arm and she lets go.

"Hey April is Mrs. Anderson around?"

"Yeah she is. I thinks she's in her office though." Jason and I turn and look at each other. I nod to him and he takes a deep breath. April stares at both of us questionably, "I'm sorry but am I missing something here?"

"No April, Jason is about to tell his mother about his clothing line." Jason turns his head toward me and I give him a smile.

"Relax Jason she already knows."

"What?"

"She knows, I kind of told her already."

"I thought I told you not to."

"Yeah but I knew that April wouldn't tell anyone so it's fine."

"Yeah Jason relax," April chimes in.

"Fine, let's just get this over with."

Jason and I walk down the hall to Mrs. Anderson's office and knock on the door. She opens the door and is surprised and delighted at the same time to see us.

"Christina, Jason please come in."

"I'm sorry Gloria I hope we are not intruding."

"Oh no dear I was just going over some reports, so what's up guys?" I turn to Jason and nod my head indicating that he should start. He takes a deep breath and turns to face his mother.

"Mom I have something to say," Jason says. Mrs. Anderson's eyes immediately shift over to me.

"Jason you didn't."

"What," we both say clearly confused by what she is getting at.

"Please tell me you didn't get the daughter of my best friend pregnant."

I put my hand to my chest, and cough while Jason stares at his mother in shock.

"No mom, it's not like that." Jason turns beet red with embarrassment as I try to calm myself.

"Well then what is going on?"

"Well if you don't already know, Christina has signed with Maxwell Model's. During the past few months I have been working on my own clothing line, and Christina has agreed to be the face of my line."

Mrs. Anderson's eyes lit up with excitement as she stood up to hug her son. "Jason I am so proud of you," she says walking over to him and embracing him. She lets go and walks over to give me a hug as well. "Congratulations Christina I'm sure your mother would be very proud of you."

"Thank you Gloria."

She takes a seat and fans herself a bit. "Okay well that was some amazing news, but I have a question."

"Sure," Jason and I both blurt out earning a chuckle from his mom.

"What made you pick Christina?"

Jason and I froze and he turned to me. Her eyes were studying us carefully as we were at a loss for words. I sigh and decide to tell her the truth.

"Mrs. Anderson on my first official day here I tried on a gold evening gown in your design studio. Jason caught me and for some reason he thought my body was perfect, so he asked me to be the model for his clothing line, or he would tell you and I would have been fired."

"Oh dear," she says clearly shocked at my confession.

"I'm sorry and I know that I broke one of your rules, but I hope you can forgive me." Mrs. Anderson stands up and walks towards the door, "Come with me."

Jason and I both get up and follow his mother down to the design studio. She heads to the back and comes back with the gold dress I had tried on.

"Is this the dress you're talking about?"

Jason and I both nod our heads and she smiles.

"Try it on."

"What?"

"Try the dress on Christina I want to see you wear it." I look to Jason and he shrugs his shoulders. I begin to walk out the door and Mrs. Anderson stops me.

"Where are you going?"

"To try the dress on."

"Well you can do that here can't you?"

"You want me to strip in front of both you and Jason."

"Well honey since you're a model now you are going to have to get used to doing this." I sigh and come back in the room.

I mentally slap myself. Of all days I chose today to wear a thong. Jason walks over towards the wall and leans on one of the desks. I remove my crop top and slowly remove my skirt. I can feel Jason's eyes on me and when the skirt hits the floor I hear a sharp intake of breath. I know he's watching me with those calculating beautiful blue orbs of his. I feel my cheeks warm with embarrassment. I'm okay with stripping with Jason but to have his mother in the room with us, its kind of weird.

Mrs. Anderson hands the dress back over to me helps me put it on. I turn around and face the both of them.

"Well..."

"You look amazing Christina I can see why Jason chose you."

"Thanks." She focuses her attention back to Jason.

"Honey do you mind if I see your line?"

"Not at all follow me."

"Come on Christina," Mrs. Anderson says leaving the room. I sigh and pick up my clothes. We head to Jason's studio in his bedroom, and Mrs. Anderson is quite shocked.

"So this is what you do when you're stuck in here all day. I had no idea."

She browses through the clothing and I see her nod her head in approval. "They are all beautiful pieces, but I don't think I can critique it properly until I see them with my own eyes."

"Guess I have to try all of them on again."

"Sorry Christina I hope you don't mind."

"It's okay Gloria."

I'll wait outside while you two get ready."

"Jason could you help me get out of this dress?"

"Sure."

Jason moves behind me and I move my hair out of the way. He zips the dress down slowly and I hear his breathing pick up. Just as he reaches the small of my back I take the zipper from him.

"Thanks I can pull the rest down." He goes over to the rack and pulls the first outfit off. When he turns to me I see his eyes move up and down my body making me self-conscious. He hands me the outfit and moves behind me to zip me up.

"Christ." I hear him say under his breath. He moves the zipper up and I place my hair back.

"Let's go show your mother."

I walk out the door and Mrs. Anderson stands.

"You look beautiful Christina it's almost as if that dress was made for you."

"Thank you."

"Jason honey you definitely have an eye, but I think it's Christina's curves which make this dress don't you agree?"

"Yeah you're absolutely right mom."

Jason and I head back to studio and try on the other dresses. Mrs. Anderson's favorite was the last dress I tried on. The gown was pure black lace and went well with my tan skin. Jason closed the door behind us and I gave him a hug.

"See I knew your mom would love your designs."

"Yeah I guess you were right."

"Help me out of this last one." Jason zipped the dress down and his fingers grazed my back. My heartbeat sped up and I could hear Jason's breathing becoming ragged. The next thing I knew Jason's lips were on my shoulder. He made a trail of kisses down my back before moving to my neck. He nipped at my skin and I let out a low moan. He turned me around to face him and I snapped out of it.

"Jason I better go."

He steps back as I put my original clothes back on. I leave the studio without saying a word to him. Mrs. Anderson tries to say something to me, but I run right pass her and leave his suite.

Jason

"Shit." I take a seat and bury my face in my hands. The door opens and I see my mother walk through.

"What just happened? I saw poor Christina sprint for the door."

"Nothing happened mom," I say rubbing my face with my hands.

"Jason, you know that you are my baby and that you cannot lie to me right."

"How could I ever forget," I say rolling my eyes.

She pulls a seat up and sits across from me taking my hands into hers.

"You care about her don't you?"

"Of course I care she is Maria's daughter, and Maria was like family to us."

"That's not what I mean Jason and you know it. You care about her unlike the others." I looked at my mother knowing she was completely right. I have never felt this way about a woman before. This isn't just lust, I want all of Christina. I want her eyes, her body, her love, her soul, and most importantly I want her heart.

I sigh and remove my hands from hers, "What's your point?"

"My point is why don't you tell her? Jason what's stopping you?"

"Nothing and I already told her how I felt."

"When?"

"A few weeks into her living here."

"Jason that was months ago. Knowing Maria's daughter she probably thought you just wanted to use her like an object and throw her away like Ameile."

"You mean Amanda mother."

"See that's what I'm talking about. I don't even know the names of the tramps you've brought around here."

"Tramps really mom," I say with a smile. "Besides she has Aiden."

"She's dating Aiden?"

"Yeah."

"I thought they were friends."

"Nope, their relationship has changed and I'm not sure its for the better."

"Why do you say that?"

I debate whether I should tell my mother about Aiden, but ultimately decide not to. Knowing her she would go and tell Christina and I rather have this whole shit show blow up in Aiden's face.

"It's nothing mother really."

She eyes me skeptically but lets the issue go. My mother shrugs her shoulders and continues to lecture me.

"Jason I'll leave you with this never let someone you love or care about slip through your fingers because you don't know what tomorrow will bring."

"Thanks mom."

"You're welcome," she says standing up and patting my shoulder. She leaves my room and I close my studio. I lay on my bed and watch some TV before heading to sleep. I tossed and turned, but I couldn't sleep. My mind was filled with Christina. Aiden is scum and she's making a big mistake. The only problem is that I can't tell her what I think Aiden is doing, because she'll think that I'm trying to break them up, which will make her resent me.

I slap a pillow on my face and sigh in frustration. I can't believe I told her I would try to be his friend. Then it hit me. I sat up in bed as if a light bulb had gone off, "I need to get close to Aiden."

Christina

The places where Jason touched me still burn. I crash on my bed and sigh. What is going on with me? I shouldn't even be thinking about him while I have Aiden. I think I need a getaway from this house. Well at least I get to see Aiden tomorrow. I check the time and see that it's just over midnight. I guess calling him now wouldn't be a bad idea.

"Christina." Aiden sounds weird, almost as if he's out of breath and I immediately become concerned.

"Aiden are you okay."

"Yeah I was just working out."

"It's midnight."

"I know but sometimes I like to have late night workouts."

"Oh okay."

"So what's up, do you need something?"

"No I figured that we could talk, but it sounds like you're busy."

"I'm sorry baby."

"Don't be I was the one who called. Anyway I can't wait to see you tomorrow."

"Me either. I got to go."

"Okay goodnight."

"Night."

I hang up the phone, but I have an unsettling feeling in my gut. It felt like he was rushing to end the call which is so unlike him. After a few moments of my thoughts running wild, I decide to leave the issue. Maybe I'm overthinking things. He could really just have been working out, but then again who the hell works out this late. His schedule is pretty hectic so maybe this is the only time he has to get in exercise.

The worst possible thought crossed my mind, "He's not cheating on me, is he?"
