Kagome followed the weathered old man into his shop as she hummed a soft tune, her eyes taking in all the wonderful pieces of fabric that draped over wooden beams, the intricate patterns intriguing her as she ran her hand along the silky cloth. There were hundreds of dresses and colorful spools of wool and hemp fibers.

Suddenly she gave a low gasp as she took in a breathtakingly beautiful Kimono, the kimono was a deep shade of the midnight sky, soft lavender lines swerved on the ocean of silk as the obi completed the look with a dull pop.

Kagome smiled at the shop owner as her eyes sparkled as if fireflies had taken residence in her pools, "Mister may I ask of the price of this piece?" Her soft voice echoed through out the shop making the old man smile at her.

"Dear girl that will be fifty ryō." The old man chuckled as he stared at the hidden gem she picked out.

"Only fifty ryō? I thought this wonderful piece would be in the hundreds!" Kagome looked at him before feeling the kimono. It was soft like a newborn babes foot, yet silken from the large spiders that roam the west.

"It is pretty lady yet, for you I will only ask for fifty ryō" the old man was adamant as he gave a kind smile to her disbelief.
Kagome smiled as she did a deep bow, taking out her coins she gave him a tip of twenty ryō making the old man smile gratefully.

"Thank you sir.. I will treasure this piece." She changed into the Kimono and breathed a sigh at feeling the piece perfectly slide on her body, accentuating her curves yet still draped making her look modest. Pinning her hair up she walked out of the shop with a wisp mother's grace to her light steps.

Sesshomaru was anxious and impatient as he laid back against the inn wall, and to his displeasure all he could hear was the human's intercourse and the thumping of wood scraping the wall on the other side.
His keen ears flicked as he grumbled his displeasure, his mokuton was wrapped along his chest as he tapped his long spindly fingers along his arms. He was a lord for goodness sake! Alas he finds human intercourse slightly interesting when a certain woman flashed within the back of his mind, his golden eyes slightly widened as he shook the thought out of his head. He had to plan his return back to his castle in the western coast of Jagged rocky spires, spires that reached out to the heaven itself. Where soft lily blown Sakura trees were sheltered from the harsh winds, where his family had grown up. He would be bringing a human there for the first time in his life, but alas she is not a regular mortal girl in the mortal plane, she is now his woman to do as he pleases.

slowly the door opened with a soft click and the white haired man perked up subtly as if to hide that he was waiting for her, he could see her now as his cold eyes raked over her outfit appreciatively. Instantly the young woman was by Rin's side as the little girl giggled and they resumed their game from earlier, their whispering soft and inaudible.

-----

When Kagome found the inn she was surprised at Sesshomaru's choice for the inn, while walking she could hear odd and sickening sounds of female's throughout the rooms, their high pitched squeals echoing off the thin walls. Grimacing she slowly opened the door for the room where the group would be staying in and very faintly she could feel a sharp gaze set dead onto her body. So she hurried over to the smallest member of the group who was playing with her sochi.

"Rin darling, my sochi Shippou!" Kagome smiled as she held her arms out for the children, her hair falling out of it's bun as she held the two giggly children close. Shippou immediately curled up against his Okaa-san with a soft purr. Kagome stroked his head lulling him into a dreamless sleep before she smiled at Rin. The small girl stared at her as she fired question's at the priestess.

"What's your favorite food?"

"Steamed buns with red bean filling."

"Who do you like?"

"Well.. I like you Rin-chan! you're so adorable." Kagome stifled a giggle as Rin pouted.

"No! I meant romantically!"

"R-Romantically? w-well I haven't thought of anyone romantically or have gotten close to the men to get to know them. Other than the Hanyou." Kagome sighed as she ruffled Rin's head.

"B-But why? Kagome-sama you are so elegant and kind? Why wouldn't anyone like you?"

"Dearest Rin you are too kind, I may have loved a man before but he broke my heart." Kagome stated quietly as she sighed.

Rin looked shocked but wiped the emotion off her face "Don't worry Kagome-sama! I will make sure to protect you at all cost!" Rin giggled as she hugged the older woman making her smile lovingly down at the child.

"I'm sure you will... you are such a strong girl Rin." Kagome whispered as she picked the children up and placed them on the only bed in the entire room. The soft glow of the diminishing candlelight cast a warm glow on the sleepy children as Kagome tucked them into the bed. sighing the young woman walked over to the lone window, ignoring the smouldering stare that seemed to burn into her back, she leaned out to feel the cool breeze as she watched the moon rise high into the sky. The stars shone bright yet had a dull glow the further they strayed away from the moon.

Like her heart

Kagome closed her eyes as she felt the rumbling of Yokai rummaging through the forest, surely they would be coming close, they would be able to smell the pearl's power radiating from her, but somehow that didn't bother the young woman at all. She could protect herself if need be and she was traveling with a high ranking Yokai at the moment. Slowly she could feel the tunes and notes bubbling in her stomach, forcing their way up as she embraced the urge. The urge to sing her song, the urge to pour her emotions out to the moon.

"She just wants to be beautiful

She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits

She craves attention, she praises an image

She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor

Oh, she don't see the light that's shining

Deeper than the eyes can find it

Maybe we have made her blind

So she's to cover up her pain

And cut her woes away!
