Chapter 8

Quickly, we arrived at the Jedi Temple, stopping our speeder there. I hopped out of it, along with the Twins and my Master. The Twins followed along by my side, as Anakin walked ahead of me, taking long strides, while I tried to catch up.

Master Yoda was in the hangar, and spotted us. He smiled when he saw the Younglings, and looked up at us.

"Hello Younglings," he said in his unusual tone. He looked up at Anakin and I. "Hello young Skywalker. And (Y/N)."

I bowed my head, and so did Anakin.

"Need I take the Twins?" He asked, looking at them.

Anakin shrugged. "Sure. Oh and... are the Trials today?"

Master Yoda nodded. "Yes. It's seems I have forgotten. When 874 years of age you are, young Skywalker, a bad memory you will have. "

Luke chuckled. "Master Yoda, we'll never be that old."

I laughed, and so did everyone else. He looked down at the Younglings. "Being watched Skywalker, you will," he said. "Take them to the Younglings room, you will, an train the other Younglings, you will for now."

Anakin's eyes widened. "But what about my Padawan? Can't I watch her?"

Yoda thought about it for a minute, and looked back at Luke and Leia. "Join your father, you may. He will be watching (Y/N), during the Trials. "

Anakin beamed, and bowed to Master Yoda. "Thank you, Master Yoda."

The Trial room was huge. The walls looked like a black and yellow grid, that was controlled by the computer to make different backrounds, and totally change your world. The floors were a grid as well, and so were the doors. The High Council members were gathered around, bringing in other Padawans like me. The others crowded around, standing up striaght.

I sensed someone watching me, and looked up at the walls, to find an observatory room. Luke and Leia were watching me, as their father made his way to the other High Council members.

"Hello, young Padawans," started Mace Windu. "Today you are going through a test, to see if you are to be a Jedi Knight. You will be tested in nine ways: Teamwork, isolation, fear, anger, betrayal, focus, instinct, forgiveness, and protection. "

Windu ended, and Master Saesee Tin stepped in to tell his part. "In the first part, you will all work together, trying to solve a conflict. Then, you will be split apart, on your own," he finished.

Then, Master Ki-Adi-Mundi started," The computer controls the area, so be warned. Nothing can kill you, but you will be put to sleep, and out of the trials, automatically failing. This a test of survival, and knowlage. You must rely on your available resources, in order to be successful. "

Master Yoda nodded to Ki-Adi-Mundi. "Your lightsaber, the only weapon you have. Lose it, then that is a automatic fail, as well, Padawans. Be careful, for the lightsaber, is the only weapon you will have. "

Master Obi-Wan smirked, and looked over at Anakin, then back to the group. "There will be no time limit. Take as long as needed. But be warned, this is not an easy task. The key to succeeding, is to be careful. "

Finally, Anakin looked at everyone. " We will be watching you from above. You cannot see us, but we can see you. Be careful, Young Padawans. And may the Force be with you. "

The Masters walked away, and into the observatory room. Master Windu pressed a button, and the room changed.

We were in a jungle, a jungle planet. I recognized this setting, from a book I was reading, and I knew we were in the Corva sector.

Suddenly, I blurted out the planet we were in. "Babali. It's a jungle planet from here on out. Tropical rainforests, and rainstorms are common here. "

One Padawan guy looked at me. "How did you know that? "

I shrugged. "I read about this planet in the Temple Archives."

A girl nodded. "Alright. Well, it's going to be sunset pretty soon. I suggest we find a place to sleep, or we make camp. "

I shook my head. "Impossible to make camp here on the grounds. Carnavors prowl here at night all the time. We have to find a place to sleep in the trees. "

Another guy that was a Twi-leck agreed. "Okay since there is ten of us, we could split up into groups of five, and contact each other on our comlinks, when we find something. "

Another guy spoke up. "And how will we get your coordinates?"

The Twi-leck blinked. "I could... Send them to you via comlink? "

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever. Look, if we're going to get this done by nightfall, then I suggest we get moving. Uh, I'll take... "

I looked at the others around me. I pointed to the Twi-leck, the boy that commented about the comlink, the girl that mentioned camp, and a guy and one more girl.

Suddenly, the boy that mentioned the comlinks, said, "Whoa whoa, and who made you captain? "

I shrugged. "Well, I know the most about this planet. What about you, wise guy? "

The girl that mentioned camp nodded. "She's right you know. None of us know about it that well. "

He nodded. "Fine. Whatever. The rest of you can go find whatever you can, and meet up. Got it? "

One of them spoke up. "Aye, I ain't going with this group. I oughta switch. Henley and I can switch."

He swapped with the Twi-leck boy, and came over to our group.

"Alright, let's get moving, " I said, gesturing for our group to move.

I walked ahead of the group, and started to look ahead for any tall trees. The girl caught up with me, and smiled.

"Hey," she said, taking her Jedi hood off.

"Hi," I replied sternly.

"I'm Skyler," she said softly. She seemed shy, but nice. She had blond hair, and crystal blue eyes. She looked like she might have been fourteen, or thirteen. She had a sort of cream looking skin, wearing a brown cloak, over a maroon tank top, and maroon arm braces. She had grey pants, and as well as maroon boots. She had two lightsabers attached to her black belt, and a scar over her left temple.

"What's your name?" Skyler asked.

"(Y/N)," I said, smiling. I looked down at her lightsabers. "I see you have two lightsabers. What form do you use? "

"Djem So. What about you?" St asked, staring back at me.

I nodded. "Yeah, I use that as well. "

Skyler turned around, and started to walk backwards. "What about you guys? Might as well learn each other's names."

The boy that mentioned the comlink spoke. "Slade," he muttered, turning to the guy with the attitude. "What about you, attitude guy?"

"Kai-Ruso. But I still go by Kai," he replied, with his gangster accent.

Another girl spoke up. "I hope you guys don't mind, but we should really get moving. It's almost sundown, and I don't have enough patience."

I turned toward her. "Patience is key. The Force will guide us. Now if you excuse me, what's your name, Mrs. No-Patience?"

She chuckled. "Thea. Who was your Master?"

I turned back around, facing the jungle. "Anakin."

Then Kai spoke up. "Ah, the rule breaker! Are you embarrassed? "

I turned around, and faced Kai. "No, I'm not embarrassed. He's a great teacher, and has two wonderful children. Problem?"

He shook his head. "Nah, I'm just playing. "

Suddenly, there was a roar in the distance. "They're coming," said the boy who hasn't spoke. "We need to find shelter now."

I looked to the horizen. "But there aren't any trees big enough for miles!"

"Look Thorn," said Thea. "If we're going to make it out alive, then we need to stick together. Teamwork remember?'

Thorn nodded, throwing his good off, revealing his alien features. He was Zygerrian, his wolf like structures covered his face.

Suddenly, out of no where, a large tree appeared. But it didn't seem like it would be near for miles.

"Hey look!" Shouted Slade, pointing to the tree. "Shelter!"

As soon as he said that, lightning rolled across thy sky, and thunder crashed against the clouds.

I nodded toward it. "It's about to rain, so we should hurry up!" I shouted, running towards the tree. We ran through the jungle, shoving gigantic ferns out of our way, and swiping mosquitoes from our faces. Soon, the ground became muddy, and our cloaks were almost completely wet from the rain.

There were two howls coming from a distance, each one coming closer and closer.

"Come on guys, we need to run!' Shouted Thea.

I pulled out my lightsaber, and turned it on. "No, I'm not going to run in these conditions. Maybe until these monsters are dead."

Skyler nodded, and pulled out her two lightsabers, revealing two green blades. "I'm with you. Anyone else going to be cowards and run in this mess, or are we going to fight and act like real Jedi?"

Thorn pulled out his lightsaber, having a green blade as well. He held his lightsaber upside down, showing the reverse form of the Shein style. "I'm fighting. I don't care if I become a Jedi Knight or not, but I know I'm not being a coward."

Slade also joined us, and Kai. "Coming Princess?" Asked Kai, pulling out his blue lightsaber.

She reluctantly pulled hers out, and gulped. "I guess."

Two beasts pulled out of the greenery, and roared. They were massive beasts, gundarks to be exact. They had razor sharp teeth, and eyes that were a great yellow. Its as if they were Sith beasts.

"Gundarks!" Skyler shouted, pointing her green lightsaber that was in her left hand toward the creature.

Suddenly, Thea turned off her lightsaber and ran towards the tree. "See ya losers!" She Force ran, gaining a lot of speed all the way to the tree.

I groaned, and charged towards the purple gundark. "Skyler! Help me with this one will you?!"

She nodded, "I'll take him from the left!"

I ran up to the purple gundark, and slid under him, slicing one of his arms off with my lightsaber. I rolled over in the mud, coming out from under the creature. It growled in pain, going along with the sound of thunder.

There was a strange sensation coming from the Force, telling me to turn around. I did as it asked, and saw Thea approaching the tree. There was a predator watching her about to pounce, and I guess she couldn't sense it since her vision was clouded, from fear.

I shouted across the jungle, trying to warn her. "Thea! Look out!!!"

She heard my call, but it was too late; the predator pounced on her, and she disappeared. She was out of the Trials, on the first round.

"Guys, this is getting serious," muttered Slade, trying to attack the red gundark.

I ducked, being warned by the Force, that the gundark was about to slash me. Luckily, I had done it just in time, and I cut off his other arm.

"I think things have already gone serious!" I shouted, looking back at Slade.

Lightning flew through the sky once again, the winds started to change. It got a lot faster, and rain started to pour in more.

Skyler jumped on top of the gundark, and stabbed both of her green sabers through its skull; killing the beast.

"Finally done with that thing," she announced, looking at Thorn and Kai. "Say, where is Slade?!"

Kai shrugged. "Beats me!" He shouted, over the rain.

I pulled my hair back into a ponytail, even if it was covered in mud. "Well, we need to find him if we're going out here alive!"

Suddenly, I felt a tug from the Force, telling me to look at the giant tree. I saw Slade gathering the other five from the other group, into a hole up in the trees.

I pointed up there. "He's up in the trees with the others!"

Thorn nodded. "Great! Let's go!"

We all put up our lightsabers, and attached them to our belts. We gathered what was left of our energy, and used the Force to speed run, to get to the tree.

We ran over many obstacles, pushed through brushes of plants, and fell down several times in the mud, but we made it to the tree.

We Force jumped up to where the gaping hope was, and went inside. Slade was there, with three of the group members.

I was out of breath, looking at the others. "Why-why is there only three of you?"

One girl stood up, who was a Tholothian, the same alien as Adi Galla. "Turns out your group had six, and we ended up having four. But... I'm afraid Henley fell down a hole full of plasma eels, and he was executed from the Trials."

I nodded, and sat down on the floor, around the little fire they had. Everyone else was either asleep, or sitting around trying to get warm.

Quickly, a blue flash came over the fire, gaining image as a hologram. It was the Council Members.

"Hello young Padawans," Master Plo-Noon started. "Congratulations, on surviving the first round. Now, it is time for the second round: isolation."
