Emily's POV

I catch Jacob staring at me." What?" I ask. Jacob shakes his head.

" Nothing, just look at the buildings," Jacob says. I know he was lying but I didn't show him that I didn't believe him. " Emily, I should get you home now," I nod seeing it was getting late.

" Uh... how do we get down?" I ask.

" We climb down, I'll help you,"

For the whole ride back to uncle Aleck's, Jacob remained quiet. Once we got to the shop. Jacob stepped off the carriage and held the door open for me. " Thank you," I say and I kissed him on the cheek. I smiled in embarrassment. Then by surprise Jacob took his hat off and kissed me on the lips. I kissed him back. He cupped his hands around my face and my arms found his neck. He pulled away. I can't believed he kissed me. My face turns red from my blush. Seeing this Jacob laughed a little.

" Would you like to see more of London tomorrow?" I smile and nod.

" Yes I would love to," I smile. I walk back inside the shop and close the door behind me. I smile and touch my lips. Uncle's maid Mary sees me.

" Well, what made you so happy?" Mary is the same age as me. The last time I saw her was last year when her mom still worked here. We became good friends.

" Mary can you keep a secret? I ask.

" Yes,"

" Well you know Jacob, right?" she nods, " Well, he kissed me just a minute ago," she gasps and then hugs me with glee. 

" Oh Emily, I thought I would never see the day," she laughs," Don't worry your secret is safe with me,"

" Thank you, Mary," she smiles at me, " Well I best get to bed, goodnight, Mary," I say while walking up stairs. Then I get changed into my nightgown and fall onto my bed and fell into a deep sleep. 

Jacob's POV

I finally reached the train hideout. I get there around 11:00 pm. It's easy trying to find a train in the dark. I get into the train and find Evie still awake.

"Your home late," she says," Where were you?"

" Who are you, father?" our father died not to long ago. " If you must know I did what you said and showed Emily London, and after I took her back to the shop I couldn't find the train until I went to Victoria Station," I explained.

" I don't think you are telling me everything," as if she could see my partial lie on my face.

" You are not going to leave me alone until I tell you are you," she shakes her head. " Well, I kissed Emily after she kissed my cheek,"

" What!" she nearly screams," I mean you only just met her,"

" Well we got to talking and she is interesting, I want to know more about her," Evie's face softened.

" Remember, Jacob ,Don't let personal feelings compromise the mission," I say the last part with her.

" So you are quoting father again, are you Evie," Evie sighs.

" You know he was right," she says.

" No, I don't think he was," I say. Evie scoffs.

" What do you think will happen when the Blighters find out about you and her? What do you think they will do," I glare at her.

" They won't find out, I have already liberated most of London's barrows, if they were smart they will stay away," Evie just nods and I assume she thinks I am right," On the streets they already fear us,"

" True," Evie agrees. " Maybe it could work,"

" No, it will work Evie," I yawn," Well if this discussion is over I am going to bed,"
