After we all eat, I go to pay for my food, but Quinn stops me.

"No, you don't need to pay. I will. You go and wait in the car," he tells me.

"It's fine, I can pay for myself!" I protest.

He shakes his head.

"I'm not changing my decision."

"Fine."

I walk out to the car, humming a song, when I catch a glimpse of someone standing on the road. I whip my head to where I thought the person was, but there is no one.

"Hey, Sera, you okay?" Violet asks, walking out with Tyler and Quinn.

"Uh, um, yeah. I'm fine."

"Okay? Anyways, see you tomorrow," she says before leaving with Tyler.

"Bye, Vi."

I walk with Quinn to his car and he takes me home. When I go to unlock the front door, it suddenly swings open to reveal Jace, looking surprised to see me.

"Serafina Cara Davidson, where the heck have you been?!" Jace shouts, pulling me inside.

"I went out with Quinn and some new friends. We got some Chinese. Sorry I didn't tell you," I mumble.

He glares at, and his eyes flash gold for a second. Wait... gold?! I hiccup a gasp, flinching when his eyes flicker multiple times. I scream, jumping back.

"Sera?" He asks, his eyes going back to their solid green color.

"Wh-what was that?" I stutter, pointing to his eyes.

He frowns, then glances to Quinn, shooting him a confused glance.

"What are you talking about, Sera?" He asks.

"Your e-eyes! They turned gold!"

"Sera, are you okay?" Quinn asks softly.

He glances at Jace again. Jace nods slightly and swiftly. Did I just miss something? Oh no, what if they think I'm crazy? I mean, I guess I am. Why would my brother's eyes flash gold?

"You guys think I'm crazy, right?" I ask.

They stay silent, but I surprise them by laughing.

"Yeah, I probably am! Maybe I'm just way too tired from exams!"

They laugh nervously along with me.

"Well, I'm going to go do my homework. Bye, Jace, Quinn."

I go to my room, starting on my homework, until I fall asleep face-first on my desk.

Quinn

I sigh in relief once she leaves. That was extremely close. Jace's wolf almost came out!

"I am so sorry, Sir," Jace apologizes.

I wave it off.

"I understand. You were just worried about her. But do be more careful. Anyways, have there been any reports on them?"

Jace nervously scratches the back of his neck.

"Um, your father didn't want you to know yet..." he trails off.

"Tell. Me," I growl.

"They've gotten into the town already. They've found a way to mask their scent and make it like our own. We caught one; they're currently in the cells below the pack house. But there's more..."

"What?" I growl.

How much worse can this get? They've mixed in with us. They are practically invisible to us! Now they can successfully kill us. Kill us all.

"The one we caught... was Astraea." 

Okay, wow, now that I see this when it't not on Google Docs, I see how short this really was. Wow. Sorry! But hey, I have all the chapters ready, so I'll post maybe one chapter per day?
