Chapter One: Gathering Everyone

Nobody's Pov

To say Stiles was scared and concerned would be an understatement.

For others it was supposed to be their first day back at West Valley High now that summer was over.

For him it was supposed to be his first day at West Valley High ever since he moved to Los Angeles.

And the day started out normally.

Until it all went to shit.

Because Tory Nichols decided to start a freaking fight because of a misunderstanding between his cousin, Sam Larusso, and his friend, Miguel Diaz.

Technically Miguel was more than a friend but that's not important right now.

Anyways...

Tory thought that Sam and Miguel kissed at Moon's party that took place yesterday.

When really, nothing happened.

Like he said, it was a misunderstanding.

And that would've been easy to explain had she not gone full psycho on his cousin and started throwing hands.

Which led to Miguel and Robby, his best friend, fighting each other.

And that led students from Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do to start a huge fight at school.

While all the other students were just watching the fight, some cheering while some were recording on their phones.

Stiles didn't want to get involved but seeing how determined Tory was to hurt, maybe even kill, Sam he knew he had to step in.

He couldn't just sit back and do nothing while his cousin, the girl that was basically like a sister to him, got hurt.

Not only that but Miguel, his friend and maybe crush, and Robby, his best friend, were fighting and hurting each other.

And he hated that too.

So when he stepped into the fight a ton of Cobra Kai students had run at him and began fighting him.

They were good, Stiles had to admit, but he was faster and stronger.

It took a while, since more kept coming at him, but he finally took them down.

And when that was over he immediately ran to help Sam.

When he found her she was on the ground, clearly in pain and with bruises on her face.

But that wasn't what made his anger rise.

What made it rise was the fact that Tory was knelt in front of his cousin, a fistful of Sam's hair in her hand, while her other hand that had her spike bracelet around her knuckles was raised in the air ready to strike.

And he wasn't having any of that.

Just before Tory could strike Stiles sprinted towards her and kicked her off of his cousin.

Tory yelled and stumbled, catching herself by holding onto the railing of the stairs.

Stiles rushed to Sam and grabbed her arm and helped her up.

Sam turned and glared at Tory and without hesitation she kicked her in the face with as much strength she could muster.

And it was enough.

Because that kick sent Tory over the railing and the cousins watched as she rolled down the stairs.

Sam shuddered as she clutched her arm that Tory injured with her spike bracelet.

Stiles turned to his cousin and placed his hands on her shoulders.

"Are you okay?" Stiles asked.

"For now. Thank you for helping me" Sam said with a small smile.

"Of course" Stiles replied, a small smile plastered on his face.

All of a sudden they heard yelling and they turned to see Miguel and Robby still going at it with each other.

Stiles groaned and kissed Sam's head before pulling away from her.

"I'll take care of them, stay here" Stiles ordered.

He turned and quickly rushed upstairs to where the two boys were still fighting.

When he got there his eyes widened when he saw Miguel pin Robby to the ground while holding onto his arm.

His best friend tried pushing Miguel off of him but it was no use.

Stiles's eyes widened when he saw the look in Miguel's eyes.

He knew that he was going to break Robby's arm.

"Miguel, don't!" Stiles yelled.

But just before he could rush towards them a single shot was fired.

That startled him and he fell to the ground on his knees, his arms instinctively going to wrap around his head.

He picked his head up and looked around but didn't see anything.

He thought he had heard things when...

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Three more shots were fired.

And he definitely wasn't the only one that heard that.

He turned to Miguel and Robby and saw that both of them were now standing and looking around, trying to find any threat.

He was going to get up and join them when...

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Screams filled the entire school and tons of students began running as fast as they could to get out of the building.

Stiles got up from the ground and began looking around, trying to find the shooter.

A scream escaped his lips when something had broken a nearby window and glass went flying.

Stiles looked to see that it wasn't something that broken the window.

But rather someone.

And that someone was wearing all black and had a black mask covering his face.

And that someone was now standing in front of him.

Stiles wants to lie and say he's calm when he's freaking out inside, not sure if this person was going to hurt him or not.

"Hey, get away from him!" Miguel yelled.

He ran towards the masked person and tried to punch him but the masked person kicked him away.

Miguel stumbled into Robby who caught him and steadied him.

The masked person turned back to Stiles and a small chuckle was heard from the person.

Stiles couldn't tell if that was a good or bad thing.

Fortunately, the person didn't hurt him and simply stepped back from him.

Stiles was relieved at that.

But that relief lasted for only a second.

He heard clicking noises and looked down, gasping at what was in the persons hand.

A smoke grenade.

Where the hell did this masked person get that from?

Just before Stiles could react the masked person threw the bottle onto the ground.

Smoke came out of the bottle and he, along with Miguel and Robby, screamed and did his best to cover himself.

Unfortunately, Stiles inhaled the smoke and he started feeling lightheaded.

Stiles felt his eyes beginning to shut but he was trying his best to keep them open.

He was also trying his best to walk, to run, to do anything so he could get help.

But it was useless.

He grew weak in the knees and before he knew it he was falling to the ground.

The last thing he heard was more screaming and Miguel yelling out his name before he lost consciousness.

Back In Beacon Hills

Isaac sighed as he made his way over to the bleachers to take a gulp of his water.

Lacrosse practice was tiring, as always, but he enjoyed being on the team and playing during games especially the important ones.

But his enjoyment over the sport was slowly beginning to die.

Why?

Two words.

Stiles Stilinski.

His best friend, someone that was basically like a brother to him, wasn't there.

After the funeral of Sheriff Stilinski, Stiles's father, Stiles was sent to live with his aunt.

Isaac didn't want him to leave but he, sadly, knew that it was going to happen one way or another.

Two reasons.

One, he had to live with family.

Two, Stiles didn't want to continue living in beacon hills due to all the bad memories it held.

The main reason being that his dad was no longer alive.

And the other being that his former best friend, Scott McCall, was someone that he no longer trusted nor wanted to be around.

Isaac didn't blame him.

He couldn't believe that Scott chose Theo, someone he barely knew for a day, a week at most, over his friend he's known since childhood.

Isaac, along with the rest of his friends, blamed Scott for being the reason that Stiles was gone.

Which is why they did their best to stay away from him.

Mainly during school.

It was hard to stay away from him during important stuff such as pack meetings and all.

When Isaac reached the bleachers he dug into his bag for his water bottle.

Once he got a hold of it he opened up the cap and took a big gulp of water, sighing in content as it was clear how thirsty he was.

He felt a presence next to him and turned to see it was Lydia.

"Hey" Isaac said, offering her a small smile.

"Hey, sorry I was late. I had something to finish" Lydia told him.

"It's alright, no worries" Isaac reassured her.

Lydia opened her mouth to say something when two people joined them.

They turned and smiled when they saw it was their friends, Kira and Malia.

Or, as they sometimes like to call them, the girlfriends of the pack.

It honestly wasn't a surprise to them when they revealed that they were dating because they had a feeling that there was something going on between them.

And they were right.

And they sure as hell didn't care because they were happy that they were happy.

That's all that mattered to them.

Although, Isaac was still bitter to have lost his $20 to Lydia cause she won the bet they made.

Anyways...

"What's up, losers" Malia greeted them with a grin.

Isaac chuckled, Kira sighed fondly while Lydia playfully glared at the werecoyote.

"Sorry we're late, Isaac, we got caught up with something" Kira said.

"Yeah, I'll bet" Isaac muttered, eyeing the small hickeys on the girls neck.

He didn't say anything since it didn't look like Kira knew and he would be nice and not tease her.

Lydia, on the other hand, didn't have the same mindset as he did.

"Yeah looks like you two had a nice make out session" Lydia smirked, eyeing Kira's neck.

Kira frowned before her eyes widened in realization and she immediately covered her neck.

But it was too late since we already noticed them.

Kira blushed at the smirk Lydia was throwing her way and buried her face into Malia's shoulder.

Malia just grinned and shrugged before wrapping an arm around Kira's waist.

Glad to know she's proud rather than embarrassed.

"Where's Liam?" Lydia asked, looking back at him.

"When practice was over he left. He either went back to the locker room or the bathroom" Isaac said.

Kira removed her face from her girlfriends shoulder and looked at Isaac.

"How is he holding up?" Kira softly asked.

Isaac sighed and said, "he's been the same ever since Stiles left".

Isaac had to admit that out of everyone, Liam seemed to have changed the most.

He became a shell of his former self, he was no longer energetic and no longer smiled as much.

And he knew why. They all did.

Liam missed Stiles, just like he and the others.

But it's different, with Liam it's different.

Why?

Because Liam didn't just lose a friend, he lost someone that was basically like a dad to him.

Liam and Stiles had a special bond ever since Liam became a werewolf and joined the pack.

One thing Isaac has to point out is that while Scott bit Liam, thus turning him into a werewolf and his beta, Stiles was the one that was there for him.

He was there for him for everything.

Liam admired him, he followed him around, he saw him as a dad.

Hell, he started calling Stiles dad a few times that soon turned into an everyday thing.

And Stiles was completely fine with it since he began to see Liam as a son.

So when he left beacon hills, it hurt...

No.

It didn't hurt Liam.

It broke him.

Because his dad left and he wasn't sure if he would ever come back.

Yeah, he could call and text him and even facetime him whenever he wanted but it wasn't the same.

It wasn't the same for any of them.

But they would have to learn to get used to it because Stiles made it clear that he wouldn't step foot in beacon hills ever again.

Not that Isaac blamed him.

Not that any of them blamed him.

But they just wish they could see him in person again.

"Maybe we should-" Kira started but was cut off.

Screams filled the field and before they knew it all the students were running away.

This made the four friends glance at each other before turning around to see what was going on.

Screams escaped all of their lips as something had exploded nearby.

When it felt safe they all looked to see that what had exploded was a bottle.

And red smoke was coming out of said bottle.

The four of them stared at the red smoke in confusion and slight wonder.

"What the hell?" Isaac muttered, a frown plastered on his face.

Who had done this?

Why had they done this?

More questions were beginning to run through his head.

All of a sudden he coughed before his eyes widened in realization.

He accidentally inhaled the smoke.

He looked at the others and saw that they were in the same state as he was.

They accidentally inhaled the smoke too.

Isaac tried to say something when started feeling lightheaded.

His friends were, of course, in the same state as well.

He did his best to say something but no words came out, only more coughs.

Before he knew it his body was falling to the ground.

As he landed his eyes he tried to stand or, at the very least, crawl to try and get some help but it was no use.

His vision began to blur and he looked at his friends and saw that they were falling to the ground.

The last thing Isaac managed to hear was someone calling out his name before he lost consciousness.
