Aileen

The boy's grip on Cordelia's wrist seemed to tighten significantly as I slowly approached them, indicating that he either didn't know who I was, or that he was too scared to move.

A quick glance at Cordelia's terrified face told me that she was having difficulty at adding two and two together.

This should be interesting, I thought gleefully as I winked at a still mortified Cordelia.

I vaguely noticed that some of the older Slytherin students had stopped midway in whatever they were doing, some of them had obviously realised who I was supposed to be, and were know uncomfortably watching me as I shifted my gaze back to the idiot wearing a Death Eater costume.
His annoyed expression had turned into a confused frown as he noticed the murmurs of some of the older students.

"You must be a special kind of stupid if you don't recognise your Lord..." I sneered at him- disgust dripping from my every word, as I twirled my wand for good measure.

Thank Merlin that most Professors and Prefects know that it's me, otherwise I'd be joining Hogwarts Ghosts right about now...

"That's You-know-who, isn't it?"
"Isn't he supposed to be dead?"
"Tom Riddle? Isn't there some sort of trophy with his na-" Were some of the whispers that managed to reach our ears.

My mind momentarily wandered towards Momo, the now fluffy white kitten was nowhere to be found when I had searched for him earlier on.
If only he were here, then the outfit would have been completed, Tom Riddle with a snake and all...

I vaguely noticed as the boy narrowed his eyes at me, though he seemed less sure of his footing.
"You-Know-Who is dead-shit," he suddenly hissed as he bowed over in pain.
Cordelia had managed to ram her knee into his groin with a war-like cry, forcing him to release her.
She stood over his hissing, curled up form, her face a bright red colour, breathing hard and both fists clenched at her sides.

I took a moment to take in her appearance; she wore a tight bodice which left very little room to the imagination, with long flowing skirts, completed with puffy sleeves.
Her long, dark hair was left down, making her resemble a pale pirate ghost.

Cordelia took one final look of contempt at the trembling boy at her feet before pushing past the crowd that had gathered around us.
I went after her, only too aware of Julius icy stare on my back as I passed by a grinning Aberforth who gave me a quick thumbs up.

Well at least I managed to amuse someone, I thought and rolled my eyes as I followed Cordelia out of the Great Hall.

"Cordelia wait..." I called out to her, momentarily startled at how different my voice sounded.
She bent forward, gasping for breath and clutching her stomach.
"Damn...corset," she said between intakes of oxygen

I looked over her small form, suddenly realising what she was complaining about.

"No wonder that you can't breath..."
I muttered as I loosened the strings of the corset with a wave of my wand.
I didn't dare to get any closer to her, I wasn't sure of what I would do if she tried to run away.
It was one thing if the others looked at me with fear- this appearance seems to have that effect on certain people, and it was something that I had come to enjoy for the past hour...but I wouldn't be held responsible for what I did if she looked at me that way.

"Ummm, Aileen?" She asked hesitantly with her back to me, unsure of my identity.
"I'm sorry, I should have warned you in advance." I replied in almost a whisper, the horrified look that she had given me in the Great Hall flashed before my eyes once again.

I should have told her, this whole thing could have been avoided...

"Ah, no it's fine, it was a shock at first, but you did tell me about what you were going to do" she turned around, unable to meet my eyes, instead looking at my chest.
"Thank you for that...though it wasn't really necessary," she added softly, muttering the last sentence to herself.
"I know that you could have handled him yourself..." I lied with a smile.
I wasn't about to tell her what could have happened if I hadn't stepped in when I did, the thought of letting Julius handle the matter had briefly crossed my mind...but he seemed to be rather busy with what's her face.

"What was that guy's problem anyway?" I asked after what seemed like an eternity of awkward silence.

At least she was talking to me, and I wasn't about to let this opportunity slip.
There had to be a way for me to find father's legacy, and at least try to have somewhat of a normal childhood at the same time.

"He's a pervert, lacks intelligence and hopefully has an inability to have children," she listed with a small vein of pride.
"Excuse me, I think Juliet's worrying about me," she bowed her head and started to rush past me.
I turned around and lightly grabbed her arm as she passed holding her in place.
"I'm sorry, not just for today..." I started, the sound of my- no, of Tom Riddle's voice was obviously sending chills down her spine.
"I'm not good at expressing myself, and I might have hurt your feelings, I-I'm sorry..." I trailed off in a low whisper, and let go of Cordelia's slightly trembling arm.
"It's best if I leave until the Polyjuice Potion wears of, my entrance was probably too much of a Halloween scare for some people." I muttered with a sigh, and started to walk towards the stairs.
"Wait!" I heard her frantically say.
"I'm sorry...for not considering what your birthday actually meant, for blowing up like that...I guess I do have a bit of a short fuse," she added sheepishly.
"Why does it always end with the two of us apologising to each other?" I asked more to myself than to Cordelia.
"I'll just leave now, Ravenclaw will just have to deal with getting points reduced because I ran off. I'm really bad at this friendship thing...Goodbye." I said and made my way up the stone stairs.
