Aileen- His first wand

His Mark
[Knowledge is Power]

After having bought all of his school supplies, Aileen walked briskly with his backpack in hand towards Ollivander's wand shop.
The Malfoy boy at Gringotts had told him, that Ollivander was the best wand maker in all of England.
'Ollivander's wand shop,' Momo murmured through Aileen's thoughts.
'Didn't your mother mention that she was related to the Ollivanders?'
'Yes, her mother was Geraint Ollivanders daughter, hence my middle name.'
'You could have used the Ollivander family name instead. That way we wouldn't have had to use this Avery Morfin Gaunt's surname. He's barely even related to the Gaunts. He didn't even achieve anything worth mentioning, only Merlin knows how he got the Gaunts surname and then into Hogwarts, nobody will even remember his existence unless they knew him personally.'
'His files were in the orphanage, and I'm guessing that he got the Gaunt surname the same way that I'm getting it, through a family heirloom, and the right connections.'
He thought back at Momo, and started to feel faint signs of a migraine.
'Besides, if nobody remembers him they won't have any great expectations for me, which gives me enough time to do what I want.'

Aileen sighed, pushed the door handle down to Mr. Ollivander's shop and opened the door.
The bell rang, as he entered the shop, closing the door behind him.
The interior of the store looked as old and narrow as the outside.
Only one old chair stood in the middle of the room and on the walls were about dozens of shelves in which long boxes were piled up and down.

These are probably the wands, thought Aileen and his eyes fell on a narrow door between two shelves.

"You can sit down, I'll be with you in a moment." came a muffled voice from behind that door.

Aileen stood there motionless for a few seconds, then walked the few steps to the old chair, put his completed purchases next to him on the wooden floor and sat down.
After a few more minutes, the door between the shelves opened and a man with silver eyes stepped toward him.

"Good day my boy. Your first wand I presume?" The man said with a soft voice and smiled.
"Yes." Aileen replied quickly.
"And your name?"
The boy's face tensed slightly and between his lips he pressed an "Aileen...Aileen Gaunt." out.

'Are you sure that you should be using the Gaunt surname already?,' He heard Momos hissing voice in his head.
'The chance that the potion won't recognize me as a Gaunt is really small, I can't be my real father's son, not with the birth date that my mother made the spell give me.' He thought back at his snake, his face void of any emotion.

"Well, Aileen, here we go. Please stand up. Which hand is your wand hand?"
Asked Ollivander, who tried to mask his surprised expression by continuing to smile and pulled a long measure tape with silver bars from his pocket.
After all, he hadn't heard the name Gaunt since Avery Marvolo Gaunt had passed away ten years ago...maybe this young boy in front of him was his son...his hazel eye was a similar shade to Avery's, his blue eye however must be from his mother's side, and that fiery red curly hair reminded him of someone...

"I'm right-handed, if you mean that." Said Aileen and stood up, pulling Ollivander out of his thoughts.
"Ah yes...well, please stretch your arm out."
Aileen did as he was told.
"Yes, just like that." Said the wand maker, and measured Aileen from the shoulder to the fingertips, then from wrist to elbow, from shoulder to foot, from the knee to the elbow and finally from ear to ear.
"Each wand from Ollivander has a core of a powerful magic substance, Mr. Gaunt. We use unicorn hair, phoenix tail feathers heart and fibers of dragons. No two Ollivander wands are the same, just as no unicorn, dragon or Phoenix are spitting image of each other. And of course you will never achieve such excellent results with the wand of another wizard as with your own."
Said Ollivander, who was walking between the shelves pulling out wands and placing them back while the magic tape continued to measure Aileen.
"That's enough." Said Mr. Ollivander who came back with a couple of long, narrow boxes up to Aileen and the tape rolled itself together in a heap on the floor.
"So, Mr. Gaunt. What about trying this. Ivory and unicorn hair. Nine and a half inches, springy. Take it and swing it through the air."

Aileen took the wand out of the box into his hand and swung it back and forth.
He wanted to swing it again, as Mr. Ollivander pulled the wand out of his hand, placed it back into the box and put it on the small chair beside them.
"No,that's not right - Here maple and Dragonheart fiber. Eight inches. Flexible and easy to handle."
Aileen took this just like the wand before, in his hand and swung it through the air.

Mr. Ollivander pulled the wand out of his hand once again, and offered him a new one.
"Hm, perhaps - yes. Try this. Yew and phoenix feather thirteen and a half inches."
''It belonged to a very powerful wizard...''
Mr. Ollivander murmured to himself.

As Aileen took the wand into his hand, he suddenly felt a warmth flow through his fingers.
He brandished the wand through the air and a stream of red, and gold sparks shot out of it like fireworks.
Aileen was visibly impressed and looked wide-eyed at the wand in his hand.
"Bravo." Said Mr. Ollivander, clapping in satisfaction.

After paying for it and leaving the store, Aileen twirled his just acquired wand between his fingers in delight.
With this wand he would achieve great things - of this he was sure.
