I was annoyed that the council will invite me to Ball when they clearly wiped me out of their list due to the incident which happened ages ago.

"And why do they think I would be interested," I asked.

"Well it would be good for you if you want to keep the human safe" He said smiling.

I narrowed my eyes suspiciously at him but he just smiled and then left.

Elysa's POV

I was just sitting when maids came running and telling me that I need to be ready as their Lord Adrian wants to take me somewhere.

"Do you have any idea where?" I asked as it was unusual of him to take me out of his mansion. It gave me queery feeling as to what is about to happen when I step out of this house.

"We are sorry Mam but we don't have any idea" One of them replied as if hiding something from me.

Soon I was made to shower, dressed and makeup and made ready for a party in a ballgown. As soon as I looked at myself I could get a feel as if I am dressed in olden times gown. Inspite of trying to press for information from the maids they were reluctant to reveal any information which pissed me off.

I was ushered downstairs where Adrian awaited for me. I was coming down when I noticed his intense gaze on me and for a moment it made me nervous but then I thought why would I feel nervous he is not my boyfriend to feel like that. The thought of boyfriend refreshed Jace in my mind. But when Adrian held his hand for me to take it, I let the thought of past aside and asked him "Where are we going?" I asked.

"Just to have some fun sweetheart and to refresh old memories" He said though the last four words were uttered more to himself than me.

"So going in this stupid ball gown and looking like we belong to ancient times is your idea of fun?" I asked sarcastically.

"Well not mine to be precise but someone's but we can still enjoy at their expanse" He said.

It made me unsure as to what his intentions were, so far he has not made any attempts to touch me physically and if he wanted he could have forced himself long back. Initially, his behavior made me believe he was a vile man but ever since my illness he has been taking good care of me and it has been few days I recovered and he is taking me somewhere without telling me is what puts me on edge. Having no choice I boarded the antique car he got us for this trip, though I had an idea if he was not trying to show off then he is just trying to follow some kind of etiquettes of the place. I was getting curious as to what the place would be.

As I seated myself in the back seat he said "Sweetheart whatever be the situation stick by my side unless I tell you not to".

Him not revealing where we are going in the fancy costume and me sticking by his side was again making me feel dizzy. But then this is his supernatural world he knows things better than me and so far he has not tortured me which I believe any other power-crazy person would have done just to show his dominance.

I nodded my assent and the whole ride was finished in silence. As soon as the car stopped driver came to my side to open my door and soon Adrian was by my side we were led inside a venue which seemed like hosting a big party. 

As soon as I stepped in I could see many men in black suit and very less female population but in red gowns. I looked at Adrian to ask when the color code was red then why did he make me dress up so different and immediately all the attention was on us as soon as we made an entrance.

"So I won't lose you sweetheart in the sea of women" He answered as if reading my thought.

Soon a man came near Adrian and said "Elders are waiting to meet you. Can you come with me so I can escort you to them?" Adrian nodded and we both started to follow him but he turned and said "Lord Adrian alone" he said while looking at me.

"No way I can't leave her alone in the middle of bloodthirsty creatures. If elders want to meet me then they have to allow her in" He said stubbornly.

"Well sir the thing is the discussion needs to happen without her because she won't be able to enter the place as you know her being human. Second, if you are wondering about her security then I can arrange someone to keep her safe" The man said.

"Fine Aron please arrange someone" He said and then looked at me and said "Sweetheart be with the guard and under no condition move from your place till I come and collect you".

I nodded in assent and both left me with a red-headed soldier who stood like a statue near my table. Soon a man brunette means who seemed like a man of authority came near me and asked the redhead to leave.

"Sir Lord Adrian said not to leave her alone" He said.

"Well I am your master, not Lord Adrian" the man said and immediately the guard moved away "Looks like the lovely lady is all alone" He said while turning to me.

"Who are you?" I asked curiously.

 "Oh sweet..where are my manners. So Lady Elysa I am Lord Levine and I would like to join you" He said lifting his hand.

"How do you know my name?" I asked narrowing my eyes.

"Well you see Mam everyone in this ballroom is aware who you are and they though appear busy with whatever they are doing they are keenly listening to our conversation He said and as soon as I gazed around I knew it was true.

"So Lord Levine why are you  here with me?" I  asked.

"You haven't changed a bit Lisa I never thought you would with new face and all" He said.

"What are you talking about Levine?" I asked and suddenly realized that I didn't use his title and he would be mad and added quickly "I mean Lord Levine".

"Seriously now we are into formalities Lizza. I never knew the day would come" He said laughing and it increased the frowning lines on my face.

"You really don't remember?" He asked. "Well I think then there is a limit to your witch powers".

"Witch? Me?" I repeated confused.

"So it's true hmm then I think I don't have anything to talk to you" He said and left me alone.

As he left I felt alone amongst the pool of dark creatures and not knowing when they will change their mind and pounce on me like a prey. The thought made me shiver and I prayed for Adrian to come back sooner. I don't know when my eyes closed of their own for the fear if I look at any of them it would be an invitation. I sat on one of the tables when I felt as if someone is standing near me.

"Is the seat taken?" A deep manly voice said.

My eyes fluttered open and I stared at the man, the man who was exactly like how I saw in my nightmares. I shivered at seeing the real person in front of me.

"Now don't be scared love. I just want a dance with you" He said.

I just looked at him with fear in my eyes.

"Love I won't be able to do much with so many elites around. Now would I be?" He said.

I didn't know whether to believe him or not but all of them equally scared me like him.

"No I am fine. I don't know how to dance" I said quietly.

"Love sure you jest me.. I know you are the most graceful dancer seems like you forgot your human boyfriend Jace" He said.

The moment he mentioned Jace, a tear involuntarily slid down my left eye.

"Ah.. seems like I struck a nerve then" He chuckled.

I looked down not meeting his eyes. Then suddenly he pulled my chin up to meet his eyes and said "Now whatever I say you will do" and this time his voice was like dark and melodious and with a hint of darkness.

I nodded against my will and then he continued "You will let me take you to the dance floor and dance with me like you really want to and once we are back you won't remember any of this".

Soon I was on the dance floor whirling like a graceful dancer. I looked in his eyes and seems like everything was fading.

Adrian 's POV

I was ushered by a guard in the royal study room and there sat the group of elders.

"Thanks for coming, Lord Adrian on a short notice" One of them said. Though the voice was pleasant and there was no trace of bitterness but their body language told me that they expected me to show them more respect.

"Oh I had to ... you know when people who averted me for years suddenly wanting me in their presence. Curiosity got me here" I said winking.

"Lord Adrian I know we have not been exactly friendly with you but there is something very important that needs to be discussed now" Another lady said.

"Well at your service my lady " I said bowing at her.

"Lord Adrian we want you to claim the human as your mate or you leave her here so that council can provide her protection" One of them said.

"If this is what you called to discuss then I would have to walk myself out of this party" I said and walked off and was about to open the door to usher myself out.

"Wait Adrian.. Stop if you really care for her... her life's in danger" I heard a someone say which stopped me in my stead.

I turned and immediately flashed before Eros who uttered those words.

"What do you mean her life's in danger" I said pulling his coat.

"Calm down Adrian" He said touching my chest and immediately I felt myself calm and I started at him in confusion.

"I have ability to calm others and to answer your question if you didn't claim her then your brother will as you know" He said.

"You don't have to worry about that" I said smirking.

"We have to because we can't leave someone so innocent unguarded" He said.

"Why doesn't it convince me that you are really worried about her innocence" I asked narrowing my eyes.

"Eros... I think we should tell him " the woman said.

"What is it that you are hiding?" I asked.

"Well, here it is then. The human you have brought here is not an ordinary girl. She has paramount powers and we don't want her powers to be misused" Eros said.

"She is just a human and if you think you can fool...." I was cut off when Eros opened a door and I saw Elysa passed out on the couch.

"What the hell happened to her? What did you do to her you bastard? I am going to kill you" I lunged at Eros.

"Adrian we didn't too anything. She is just taking nap" The women said.

"Erina I will take from here. I will handling things" Eros said smiling

"I am seeing how wonderfully you are doing that" Erina said sarcastically.

"Well Adrian You see Elysa passed out on Couch right now look at the live footage of the ballroom" She said.

As I looked at the screen I saw Elysa dancing gracefully with someone and when cameras focused I was frozen because it was him and she was with him smiling.

I stared at the screen and then at the person passed out on the couch.

"How is that possible?" I asked shocked.

"Well, she can do that" Erina answered.

"She is not a supernatural then how?" I asked her.

"You see she is a source of lots and lots of magic and right now she is passed out and yet she is in the party and still you say she is not supernatural " She smiled.

I glared at her "Adrian, Elysa is a powerful being and she is unaware of the powers she holds. She has no control over them. She can be at two places at the same time if she wills or when she does not as you can see" She said.

"Well I never witnessed this power before coming to this ballroom" I said sarcastically.

"If you think we are lying then tell how is it that she was right next to the demon king and he didn't hurt her. When we know he is known to be tainting the virgins and moreover he is known to be ruthless" She said.

"Maybe he didn't get the chance" I said doubtfully.

"Or Maybe he could not because he felt something other than lust for the first time in his life" She said.

I still doubted when she said "Did you smell any supernatural when you were with her?"

"Did You feel attracted to any other girl before her?"

"Did Demon King left any female without killing her?"

"Was any female ever able to resist yours or your brother's charm?"

"Did you ever felt caring for anyone else. But you feel sad when she is sad. You feel protective when she is in danger?" She said.

"Are you telling me that she has the power to attract us?" I questioned.

"I don't know how to explain this but I don't know what the extent of powers she has or will show?" Eros said.

"So you are telling me the greatest witch of our time doesn't know how powerful she is? Interesting" I said smirking.

"Well we can't find it because her powers are beyond us all combined" Erina said. I snapped my face at Erina.

"She is supernatural? How is that possible? I have been watching her since she was 14 and she has never exhibited any signs of any power moreover I know her as the most innocent and purest of the soul" I said.

"Well that she is.." Erina replied.

"Sorry, we don't have answers to your questions?" Eros said and when I didn't interrupt he continued "All we know is whoever mates her then he will be the most powerful creature and there will be no one to stop him".

Demon King's POV

As soon as I entered the venue I was hit by her scent which drew me to her. I was about to go near her when I saw Adrian was about to leave her but then a redheaded soldier was standing next to her. I was about to make my move when Levine took her away. Seeing her talking to Levine so comfortably made me jealous.

As soon as he left her I approached her and  I could see she recognized me and she was afraid. I hypnotized her to dance and the closeness with her was affecting me and I wanted to claim her right then. But I know doing so in the council building in the presence of all the creatures will stir trouble and so I took her back to her table and made my way to the Council Library. As I was about to enter I heard them saying  "Sorry we don't have answers to your questions?" I heard a voice say which I know belongs to Eros "All we know is whoever mates her then he will be the most powerful creature and there will be no one to stop him". 

"Seems like my plan was revealed" I said pouting.

 They all turned to me and entered the room "Good Day Gentlemen and lady" I said while taking Erina's hand kissing it.

"Oh King Lucius.. always the charmer" She said. Even though I could feel how much they were uncomfortable with my presence.

"How dare you come here? who even invited you?" Adrian shouted.

"Well... little brother I was invited by the council and so you know I am surprised and glad to meet you in person" I said smiling while taking the drink from one of the glass.

Adrian was about to lose control when Erina said "Look lord Adrian and King lucius we are here to discuss about the human".

All trace of smile wiped off my face and I growled when they mentioned her as human. She is mine and deserved respect. "Call her Elysa".

"OK" She said and then continued "King Lucius and Lord Adrian you both would need to compete for her love".

"Compete? you must be joking" I said smiling my demon taking over.

 "Well as I was saying that one of you must claim her" She said only to be interrupted again by me.

"Claim her ... Only I will claim her" I said.

"The powers she has puts her life in danger. She needs someone to balance it. The balance will come only when she is in love with her mate without any obligation or force. Please, you must follow the rules" she said pleading.

"Does it look like I ever cared about rules?" I said walking out of the library.

Adrian's POV

"I knew he doesn't care and what were you thinking calling him here huh??" I yelled at them.

Erina smiled and said"Well he cares and I know he does".

"What the hell are you talking he just walked out even if her life is in danger all he cares about is his  ego and he wants to claim her because I showed interest" I said "What was I even thinking of bringing her in my world. Should have let her in her world happy and safe".

"Lord Adrian... he cares" Erina repeated. Did you not see when we called her human. He got angry like I threatened his life" She said.

I glared at her and then she turned to others and said "This meeting has served its purpose" and soon all the elders just vanished from the library.
