The Beginning
Now that I've gone a little over God's love for us. (Really I could go way into that but for the sake of this, I won't quite yet.)) We need to go over the beginning. God's Creation
Genesis 1:1 clearly states this, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth."
This tells us many things right off the bat. One of which that He is eternal. God has been around since before time even started! Think about that? Literally before life even started.
There is a good analogy if this. Imagine a long rope. That represents eternity or basically forever and ever. Then there will be one sliver colored red. One tiny tiny sliver. That's you. That's your life. Yours is so small compared to eternity. In reality it's more like an endless rope. God must have been kind of bored since He has been around for literally all of eternity.
So one day God decided to create the universe. There was no Big Bang where all these molecules just came together and then bam the world. No no no. That's not how happen. God literally spoke the universe in His hands. He can hold the whole world in His hands. Haven't you ever heard that song? He's got the whole world in His hand. The song doesn't lie.
On the first day, God created light. Not the sun just light. It was bright and beautiful. It overcame the darkness. A lot of people live in darkness, spiritual darkness. It's our job as Christians to be light in that darkness and share Jesus's love. He separated the light from the darkness and called them two different things. The light was day and the darkness, night. At the end of the first day, He said, "It is good."
Remember God spoke it all into existence. He is just that powerful. He didn't move a finger! He simply spoke it and it happened. He is that powerful. This and so many others show just how great our God is.
On the second day, God made land to separate the water. The place above the land and sea was called sky. Then there was a full day cycle leading to day three. On the third day, God created the trees and fruit bearing plants. The fourth He created heavenly bodies. The sun, moon, and stars. The Sun for the day and the moon and stars to cover the night sky. The fifth there were now birds in the sky and fish in the oceans, river, and lakes.
Then came the sixth. He created land animals. Of every single kind. And guess what? All the animals got along! There wasn't any hostility or death. It was peaceful and perfect. He saw this and it was all good. God was probably getting lonely so He said, "Let us make men in our image." He made us to dominate the earth and everything in it. He created humans in His image. You have a little part of God's perfection in you. We are all unique and different. There isn't another YOU in the world. "He knit you together in your mother's womb." -some verse in Psalm. He knew you before the world began. You're so special!
Let's talk about the word create means to bring something into existence. In other words, to create is to make something out of nothing. Only God can create things. In essence, He created that thing your hand. He created all metals that make it up. He created the smart minds to invent it. It's God just amazing?
He created the snow, the laws of physics, our bodies, He makes everything run the way it does. And that thing called science, science is discovering and observing what God made or already knew. God knows all.
There is still a lot in the first chapter of the Bible but Christmas is coming up! I will be posting a chapter about the Christmas story. So after that we will get back to this. See you all later!
Remember Live, Love, Learn.
