Barnum's PoV

It has been seven years since me and my wife, Charity, had adopted the little girl I had found. In the end, we found out that her name was Hope. Hope Faith Barnum. Now that I think about it, it rolls of your tongue really well. Anyway, it has been seven whole years. Charity and I now had three beautiful little girls called Hope, Caroline and Helen Barnum. I was still trying to get a good job to give Charity the life that I had promised her.

Hope's PoV

It has been seven years since the Barnum's had taken me into their home. I had two beautiful younger sisters by the names of Caroline and Helen, one that was six years younger than me, Caroline, and another who was seven years younger than me, Helen. I was now 13. Caroline was seven and Helen was six.

We were on the rooftop whilst our mother, Charity, put the washing up on one of the many lines that we had. We were playing a make believe game where mother and Helen had guns and me and Caroline had bows and arrows. "Pew pew pew!" Mother called out as Caroline shot her with a fake arrow in the chest. I giggled as I saw Papa come up the stairs. I heard Caroline tag Helen since they didn't realise that Papa was back so I took this as my chance to run over to him and hug him before they did.

"Hey, kiddo!" Papa exclaimed as he hugged me tightly. Even though I was thirteen, I was still like an eleven year old child, hugging their dad still. I smiled into his shoulder since I wasn't very tall but I was still tall.

"I missed you, Papa." I whispered as he put his cheek on the top of my head and smiled.

"I missed you too, Hope." He whispered back as Helen and Caroline ran up to us.

"Daddy!" They giggled as they jumped on his back. I looked out across the city rooftops with a small smile when I felt mother put her arm around my shoulders and kissed the top of my head. I smiled at her as I watched Papa make something called a wishing machine. Papa told Caroline and Helen to make a wish and they did.

"What's your wish, Hope? Mommy?" Helen asked. I smiled at her as I looked over at Papa. He nodded and held his hand out. I took it and sat next to him.

"I wish, for Helen and Caroline to find the special people that make their lives feel complete." I whispered into the 'wishing' machine. Papa, mother and Caroline smiled as Helen giggled. I looked over at mother as Helen asked her what she wished for.

"I wish, for happiness. For you, and you, and for your sister and for your father." Mother said as Caroline looked around at the spinning lights. I stood up and walked over to her and kneeled next to her as we started singing.

"Ev'ry night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake"

Helen then joined us.

"I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all its gonna take" I glanced over at Papa as he finished the chorus of the song mother taught us when we were younger.

"A million dreams for the world we're gonna make." He smiled over at me and I smiled at him as I span Caroline in a circle as Helen jumped on my back. I laughed along with Helen and Caroline as Caroline jumped on my back as well. We laughed with smiles on our faces until mother said that it was time for bed.

I helped take Caroline and Helen down since they were on my back. I felt Helen slipping and her breathing become even so I knew she was asleep. I immediately used my hands to gently lift her off and bring her in front of me so that her head was resting on my shoulder. Caroline moved her arms so that they were going around my neck as we walked to our shared room.

"Sleep tight, my little ballerina sister." I whispered into Caroline's hair as she drifted off to sleep. I then went over to Helen and whispered into her hair "good night, my little energetic sister." And got into my bed that was a mattress on the floor with a pillow and duvet as Papa came in and sat on the end of my mattress bed as I drifted off to sleep.

Barnum's PoV

I opened up the curtains that separated the girls bedroom from the main rooms and sat on the end of Hope's mattress bed as she drifted off to sleep. "Phineas come, let the girls rest." Charity whispered as she went to our bedroom. I nodded, got up and gently picked Hope up before getting into the bed with her, putting Hope beside me.

I started to hum the tune to A Million Dreams as I, myself, started to drift off to sleep. "Good night, my little ringmistress," I whispered into Hope's hair. And with that, I was fast asleep with a smile on my face.
