Chapter Twenty-Three.

Hamza's suspicions About Aliya's life.

A week after Aliya's confrontation with her father, she stayed clear of him, Rukiya and even Alina who has always been hanging out with Hamza.

Nanny Lea was trying to cheer her up as she was sad because in a week she would be leaving to go to university and live in one of the dorms with Red.

"How about you go and have fun with Red and Zayn?..."

"I don't want to leave you alone here with them. I know, I know that you will tell me not to say that but I can't help it, Nanny. You are part of My family and I don't want anyone to hurt you. How about I talk to Mr Zayd and tell him we are leaving the house? And then I can go to the university while you stay with Uncle Aryan," Aliya suggested to her.

"Aliya, you know that wouldn't be possible habibty. I will be fine, I promise and you Uncle Aryan would always check on me and he might even ask someone to come and see me if I need anything," Nanny says hugging her.

Aliya knew that Nanny was right but couldn't help but be worried about her, especially in a house with people who despised them.

"Okay, I will go but I will be back before dinner so that I could help you make dinner, right?"

"Yes, but if you want to stay longer then go for it but just let me know," Nanny said.

"Yes, I know but I will come and help make dinner. Then we will have it together like always."

Nanny nodded, Aliya hugged and kissed her forehead before getting ready to leave to meet her best friend and cousin.

Meanwhile, Hamza was trying to figure out why Alina wasn't being herself and he needed to know what changed.

Is it because of the friendship between Aliya and Matthew? What is going on in her life? I need to talk to her about this before anything else happens between us.

As he was about to walk inside Alina's house, Hamza saw Aliya hugging her Nanny and leaving from the back door. Hamza was puzzled as to why Aliya used the back door instead of the front.

Before he could even ask Nanny, someone stopped in front of him making him look up to see it was none other than Rukiya.

"Asalam Aleikum, Aunt. I am here to see Alina," Hamza quickly said before Rukiya asked him why he was heading toward the back door.

"Waleikum Salaam. Okay, she is in her room. I will ask her nanny to go and call while you wait for her in the living room, okay?"

Hamza nodded and walked inside the house and sat in the living room.

Rukiya knew that Hamza might want to go and see Aliya. She didn't want him to get near her or even talk to her.

I won't let her ruin my work hard of getting my daughter with Hamza. There's always a way for me to stop Aliya and her Nanny from getting what they want even if I have to do what I did to Farha to Aliya.

Rukiya walked toward the kitchen where Alina's Nanny was and asked her to go and call her.

"Go tell Alina, she has a visitor and he is in the living room."

"Yes, Ma'am."

Nanny Lea watched as Alina's nanny walked out of the kitchen.

I don't think it is good for a young lady to be in the same room as the boy but who am I to say anything when her parents are the ones who are supporting this? In Islam, boys and girls can be friends but with a certain limit and they shouldn't allowed to be alone. With a group of people like parents or even in school but never alone. Allah knows best and He will be the one to guide and help the two girls. Ameen.

Meanwhile, Hamza thought of the times that he would usually meet Aliya at the park with her cousin and best friend but never at her house. The one time that he came to her house was when he was invited by Alina to do a project together after he said some hurtful words to Aliya.

Why is Aliya living in the servant's quarters? Are they sisters or something else? When one question arises many more follow. But the main one is who should I ask? I got it! Her Nanny Lea. But I will need to find her before Alina comes out of her bedroom.

Hamza slowly got up and walked toward the servant quarters and looked around to see which rooms were of Aliya and her Nanny Lea. Thankfully, as he was about to turn back, he bumped into Nanny Lea.

"I am sorry, young man. I think you are in the wrong part of the house," Nanny Lea said.

"I need to talk to Aliya..."

"She isn't here. She has gone out to see her best friends before they all leave for university. Why do you want to talk to her when you stopped talking to her because of a certain rumor that was spread around while you were in high school?" Nanny asked.

"I am sorry for all of that but it's weird that she is always with him. And he might not even be her cousin..."

"I will stop you right there young man. That guy you are talking about made my Aliya happy. He is her cousin as his father and Aliya's mother are siblings but that doesnt matter to you does it? As you will continue believing in the lies instead of confronting the truth. I have one advice for you, the next time someone tells you something about someone close to you, remember to investigate it rather than just accuse anyone you want," Nanny says cutting him off. "Go, your friend is waiting for you and I don't want you to cause problems for my girl," she added leaving Hamza shocked.

They didn't know that Alina heard the entire conversation and had tears in her eyes knowing that she ruined a childhood friendship because she listened to her mother.

I wish I could go back in time to rectify what I did to you my sister and also to you Hamza. I don't want to say that I hate my mother but sometimes I wish that Nanny Lea was a parent to me. I just hope that I am not too late to fix the relationships that I have broken.

Hamza took a deep breath and walked back into the living room just in time to see Alina walk inside.

Hamza took a deep breath and walked back into the living room just in time to see Alina walk inside.

"I am sorry that I took too long to see you." Alina said but she noticed that Hamza's mind wasn't there with her. "Hey, Hamza are you okay?" She asked.

Ya Allah, how I wish I didnt listen to my mother about trying to ruin Aliya's and Hamza's childhood friendship. I am sorry Aliya and Hamza. In shaa Allah I will try my best to get you two together when at the university.

"Yes, sorry I was just thinking of something. I thought we could hang out and maybe go watch a movie..."

"I think that's a great idea. What do you think, Alina?" Rukiya asked interrupting Hamza making her daughter nervous.

"Yes, mother its a great idea".

"Okay, I will just go and tell the driver to get the car ready for you two," she said leaving the room.

How come Aliya doesn't use the family driver like Alina does? Something is wrong and I need to find out what but first I need to know more about Aliya's life in this house.

Knowing the past might cause more harm than good. Sometimes it is better to leave things just the way they are now rather than opening a can of worms and letting them infest you.
