Chapter Twenty-nine
Three Years Later
Alina's Accident{Part one}
It has been three years since Aliya has accepted Alina's relationship to her as her sister. Each time they were free, they would spend with each other and talk like long-lost friends.
They also included Red with them. And this didnt go unnoticed by Hamza who was glad to see that Alina had her sister beside her.
"Alina, are you sure of what you want? Wouldnt your mother be angry at you for choosing..."
"Aliya, you of all people should understand that my mother will never be satisfied with just making you suffer, my dear sister. She made me suffer ever since I was a child and didnt even bother to care or even love me. I love him, Aliya and I think everyone deserves to know that even my mother," Alina said.
"Okay, I will support you, my sister."
Even if it has been three years, Hamza will always pick you, Alina. I can't say that I am not jealous, I am but I also understand that you can't make someone choose you over the person they love. Alhamdulilah I have gained a sister even if it is for three years and then when we get back home, we will be strangers again.
"Thank you Aliya. I will call you if everything goes according to the plans. And dont forget my sister is that I love you so much, " Alina said hugging her sister.
"I know and I love you too, dear sister."
Alina gathered her things and walked out of the dorm leaving Aliya with tears in her eyes. Red walked in and took a seat beside her.
"I know how you feel, bestfriend," she said pulling Aliya into a hug. "Everything will work out, in shaa Allah," she added.
"I am crying because even after knowing the entire truth, Hamza and I will never be the same again, Red. And that feeling hurts more than anything," Aliya explained. "He was my childhood best friend, Red who ended up believing someone he met for a week instead of me, who he knew since we were 4-5 years old," she added wiping her tears.
"I know that but you should understand that you cant force people to see when they choose to be blind. Remember what Uncle Aryan said, it is better to be happy with yourself rather than be happy with someone who isnt meant for you," she said. "How about we make our favourite food and watch a movie?" She added making Aliya smile.
"Yes, I would love that. And Red, thank you for being my best friend and soon to be my sister-in-law," Aliya says teasing her.
Red wanted so badly to tell Aliya about what Alina had been doing but it wouldn't be right to hurt her.
"Me and Zayn, I don't think so..."
"Why? He isn't ugly and neither are you. You two make a great couple."
As the two girls argue about Zayn, the boys are on the basketball court playing a friendly match but that turns into something else when Matthew has to leave in the middle of the match
"Guys can I join in with you?" Hamza asked.
Zayn looked at Matthew, who nodded at him.
"Sure you can join but we might need another player, so that it will be two versus two," Zayn said.
"No worries, a friend of mine is joining us in five minutes," Hamza said. "There he is," he added introducing his coursemate to the guys.
They started playing basketball and having fun. But that stopped when Matthew got a call from someone and he needed to leave.
"I have to go, guys. This is an emergency."
Zayn wanted to follow him but couldn't because he didn't want anyone noticing him doing it.
Meanwhile, Aliya and Red were watching a movie when Aliya's phone started ringing.
"It's Alina," Aliya said answering the call. "Asalam Aleikum, where are you? Is everything okay?"
Aliya didnt get the answers from her sister, all she heard was sniffing and Alina's stammering to get words out of her.
"Could please come and get me? I will send you the address. And could please come alone," Alina said, trying to compose herself.
Aliya looked at Red who was confused as she was, why Alina was calling her. It was almost the month of their graduation and Aliya and Red hadn't seen Alina for an entire day. She would always be busy doing something.
"Okay, I will come by Uber. Send me the address," Aliya said, making Red shake her head.
As soon as Aliya hung up, Alina sent the address.
"Can I just come with you just to be safe?" Red asked.
"Muskaan, you know how she is. I think its better that I go and I will call you as soon as I know anything. I will share my location with you as soon as I reached the address, Alina sent," Aliya said, trying to assure her friend.
But deep inside Red, knew that whatever Alina had been doing would always come back to hurt Aliya no matter how careful they were.
Aliya walked out of the dorm, but Red couldn't help but feel worried about her best friend.
"I know that Alina is her sister but I can't help but remember the past that ruined a childhood friendship because of jealousy and ego," Red said to herself. She sent a message to Zayn explaining to him what just happened to be sure.
Aliya left the dorm building and got into an Uber to where Alina was.
I just hope it isn't anything serious. I pray that my sister is safe.
After a few minutes, the Uber stopped at a hotel. Aliya got out of the car and walked inside the building.
As she started to dial Alina's number, that same moment, she walked out of the elevator with tears in her eyes.
"Hey, are you okay?" A worried Aliya asked.
"I will be fine. I just need to go somewhere. Will you come with me?"
Aliya agreed to go with her.
"Let me order an Uber..."
"No need. I have my car with me. We can go with that."
Aliya agreed and walked out of the building and got inside Alina's car.
