Chapter Thirty-Five

Mystery Letters To Hamza.

The pain in her leg was getting worse especially since she had been standing for long hours at the office. This didnt go unnoticed to Naeem who is Hamza's father whenever he would visit.

He could see Aliya lipping and wincing each time she would take a step but he knew that his son won't care because of his revenge.

Today was like any other day but Naeem was angry when he saw Aliya walking out of his son's office carrying huge files while lipping. He rushed over to help her but deep inside Naeem knew that Aliya would say no as usually did.

"Let me help you and you can't say no this time..."

"Sir, its okay I can manage. Besides this is what I deserve," She said thinking, Naeem didnt hear the last part. "Excuse me, Sir," she said walking away.

When Naeem looked at what spooked Aliya, he saw his son at the office door looking angry at what he saw.

Naeem walked to his son and pushed him inside the office. Then he locked the door.

"Why? Why do make that poor girl suffer? I knew her since you two were kids and just like that you changed because of the allegations thrown at her by her stepmother. Did you even investigate what happened at the time of the accident? And most importantly why she had more injuries than the police told you or Rukiya told you?" Naeem yelled at his son. "I never expected you to be like this, Hamza. I never expected for you to be manipulated by someone like Rukiya..."

"Dad, stop it. I wasn't manipulated by anyone. I saw the pictures of the car after the accident. She was the driver and no one can change my mind..."

"If she is the driver, then how come you have never seen her drive. She is always with her best friend in the car. Aliya never learned how to drive," Naeem said, shocking his son. "By the expression on your face, someone told you another lie, right?" He added.

"No, she might be lying dad. And what proof do you have that she wasnt the driver?" Hamza asked.

"You want proof, I will get it for you right now, " he said, taking out his phone and dialling a number.

After a few minutes, someone answered the call.

"Asalam Aleikum, I know that this is a short notice but could you please send me the driving license you found at the accident right now, please?"

"Waleikum salaam. Sure I will send it to you. It is no problem. Just give me a five minutes and you will recieve your answer," the person said.

Naeem hung up the call and exactly five minutes later, he received a message from the person.

"This is your proof," he said, showing Alina's driving license instead of Aliya's. "Now will you stop being hard on the poor girl. And if you need more proof of her injuries I have them, " he added, surprising his son.

Naeem walked out of the door feeling confident in what he had just done. He hoped that Hamza would do his investigations rather than believe someone who would want to hurt her stepdaughter.

Meanwhile, someone was preparing a few things for Hamza and Rukiya but one could say they are the same things but no they aren't.

For Rukiya, it is something to tell her that someone knows her secret and will expose her if she goes further.

For Hamza, it is something that would open his eyes to what is the real truth and what are lies fed to him by none other than Rukiya and her mother-in-law.

"Are you sure this will work? And you shouldnt touch them without using..."

"Gloves. I know that. And to answer your question is yes, it will work but now I will need someone to deliver it without being seen..."

"I can do it. His employees don't even know how I look like but they do know you."

"Fine but make sure Hamza doesn't see you or even Aliya because if they do we won't be able to continue with our investigations especially now that we are close to finding out why Alina called Aliya and what happened during the accident."

After the meeting one of them got dressed into a courier's uniform and walked inside Hamza's office and handed the receptionist an envelope.

"Hello, I am here to deliver this to your CEO, Mr Hamza Naeem Hussein. Could you give it to him?" He said, handing the receptionist the envelope and trying to walk away before she stopped him.

"Wait here, don't you need him to sign something before you leave? Isn't that how couriers are?" The receptionist asked.

"No, Ma'am. Our courier business is different. We deliver personally that's why we don't need the signature. I will be going for now, excuse me," the guy says, quickly walking out of the building before the receptionist can do anything.

The receptionist just shook her head and called one of the company couriers to give their boss the envelope. Thankfully, Hamza was still at his office when the envelope arrived.

"Sir, this came for you," his secretary said handing him the envelope.

He nodded and dismissed her.

Hamza looked at the envelope in his hand and wondered who it could be from. He opened it and removed a printed letter that was inside.

The letter read;

Have you ever thought about how liars get caught lying? I have. By investigating. I know that you hate the girl you have working for you because of something that she didn't do.

Aliya Ahmed.

Do you know why she didn't use her 'father's ' name?

No?

Let me explain then.

Her mother was the first wife to Zayd. Her name was Farha.

She didn't live to see her daughter grow up.

Why?

Because someone killed her. Jealousy can make you a murderer.

I won't be telling you who killed her. The reason why I am writing to you is because Aliya is innocent of what you are accusing her of. Don't let anger cover your eyes of the truth that is right in front of you.

Have you asked yourself why Alina was distant from you in the last year of university? Or why she lied about Aliya's relationships?

Investigate further before you lose HER.

One more thing before I go, use what is in front of you rather than what people tell you.

Your well-wisher.

Dont try to find me, you won't.

Hamza was confused as to why someone would send him such a letter. He watched Aliya through the glass window and wondered if everything he had known about Alina was a lie.

As Hamza was about to place the letter back in the envelope, he felt something inside. He removed it and found a flash drive.

He quickly put it through his laptop and switched it on. He couldn't believe what he was seeing on his monitor.

Rukiya talking to someone about ruining Aliya's life through Hamza by using him as a pawn in her game.

"I think it is a great idea especialy when he is still madly in love with Alina. One more thing that I need before I ruin Aliya for good and that is her father to permamently disown her..."

"And kick her out of this house," the other person added.

The flash drive then stopped before switching it off, something appeared on the screen.

It was an official police document stating that Aliya wasn't the driver when the accident happened and the driver was none other than Alina.

How could I be blind especially when I knew her since we were kids and became best friends? Alina knew I had feelings for Aliya thats why she sabotaged her by making up all those false rumours about her and Zayn. What have I done? I will need to expose Rukiya and maybe make Aliya forgive me for what I did to her.

Hamza looked at Aliya who had her head down and was working on the files even though they were useless to the company.

But Aliya never complained about anything even when her leg would pain and whenever she would need to sit down.

"This will change Aliya. In shaa Allah it will. But I will need to continue this charade in front of that witch Rukiya just a little more," he said, looking at Aliya. " Then maybe I can ask you to forgive me for everything that I have done to you, " he added, wiping the fallen tears with his hand.

In the coming day, Aliya's workload started decreasing and this didn't go unnoticed by her. She couldn't help but wonder why Hamza changed.

Come on, Aliya. A leopard never changes its spots. He could be planning something or maybe he grew tired of the revenge plan and would be sending me to prison. But for now, I will need to think about what will happen to Nanny when he sends me to jail. This is what I get for embracing Alina in my life. I know that it isn't her fault but I can't help but blame her for what is happening in my life right now. If only, I didn't go out with her that night, everything would have been avoided. But we can avoid things that are bound to happen one or another. For now, I need to stay calm and alert for whatever will happen.
